Room (st john) was comfortable but not sure the decor was ever tasteful in any era. The spa bath was lovely. As for it being a working farm there were some unacceptable safety issues for both humans and animals. The 'cobblestone' entry paving didn't enhance the feel of the property. Don't stay in St John if stairs are an issue... More

Good value. Room was spacious and comfortable, but the bathroom was very much an add-on with a fan that sounded like a motorbike. The air conditioner only worked after calling the manager. The restaurant was fine, the wine good, the breakfast very good but we had the impression that the place can't make up its mind if it's a hotel,... More

I get booked into a lot of places by our travel person at my place of work so I don't often get input into where I stay and I had read some of the reviews on this place and was a bit worried but all proved to be unfounded. I had a delightful stay. The house looks just amazing as... More

We booked a self catering apartment. The location is fabulous, people very friendly. The apartment is great if you can overlook the very dated decor. Bed and daybeds in lounge very comfortable. Only gripe is the lack of facilities. Self catering requires a few things ... there is a microwave but no microwave dishes. There is an electric frypan but... More

We would recommend this accomodation especially to families with a little girl like ours - with a 'princess' fascination! The manor house & surrounding buildings are very fairy tale like & set amongst rolling hills & adorable farm animals. We had to climb winding stairs to our apartment- the 7 year old princess was almost beside herself with excitement. With... More

Lovely decor and friendly staff who went out of their way to accommodate my food allergies. Room service was a let down as they did not replace all toiletteres that were used during the entire 5 day stay. Was upgraded to a warm gas heated room after room service did not replace blankets that they took which was really nice.... More

We had booked the st Johns room and were taken up there only to find they were painting the room, a little disappointing. We were taken to another family room which was clean and spacious. The location is peaceful and very pleasant with ducks, chooks, sheep and horses. The room was clean and roomy. The beds although old are comfortable.... More

Thanks for your suggestions , yes in winter we do a lot of maintenance so many rooms get painted and any things that need to be done to improve the rooms get done this time of the year More

Don't do it. I'm not sure if our room was different but judging by other reviews, it wasn't. And be careful of the good reviews with only one review in history..... In short we had a bed. It was cold, a window was left open behind curtains, we couldn't see and didn't notice until the next day, but in winter?... More

Thanks for your suggestions, we will address them , Of course its cold in winter in Tasmania as we have even had snow recently and if the window was left open it does not help to keep the room warm , We would like to have been told that the electric blanket was only working on one side which we... Stayed for 1 night, in the ATTIC room, very spacious, lovely decor, AC. The bathroom sad and needing renovation. The location is beautiful, the buildings are renovated, the barn turned into a restaurant, farm animals around, set 2 min by car out of town.
