One of the best Hotel and Resort around here. Everything was very good from every staffs to the room I stayed. The breakfast is quite good. There are still something the hotel should developed - The staff should speak more English (I knew it is Latin America, Español is the first one but I am Asian) - It would be great if the Hotel has "Executive lounge" for BonVoy Member. - "Electric pot" should have in the room

Summary: a beautiful, well located property but fails to delivery any quiet relaxation or enjoyment, therefore is not worthy of the luxury collection branding in my book. The good: Front desk and porter: The female staff member (didn't get your name, sorry) who greeted me and checked me in was excellent and spoke perfect English. As did Jonathan the porter who helped carry my bags to my room. When we arrived at my room, my room key didn't work, Jonathan scanned me in with his admin card and jogged back to the front desk to fix my room key. This small gesture was appreciated so I didn't have to walk all the way back to the lobby and wait again. Sleep: The room itself was extremely peaceful and quiet. The bedding and pillows were super comfortable, so much so that I was able to enjoy a 10-hour sleep on my first night. The bad: Not relaxing: This hotel has two pools, the main pool and a family pool. The main pool was adjacent to the bar and had a bar cart offering pool side alcohol service, so you would think this is meant for adults. Unfortunately the main pool was full of screaming children every day, meaning you couldn't relax or enjoy it. If the family and main pools are full of kids, where do the adults go to relax? There was nowhere in this resort that was child free. Another guest told me it was school holidays, so maybe it was bad timing for me, but you could not go anywhere on this property without hearing screaming children. There were kids roaming the grounds on scooters, bouncing basketballs and kicking footballs in common areas as well who I had to avoid. I felt like I was staying at a childcare centre. Condition of rooms: Rooms are starting to show signs of wear and tear. In my room there are stains on the bed headboard and all of the blinds, including brown stains (I hope it's not...) on the blind in the toilet. Mould is also visible on the glass of the shower. Language barrier: Most staff at this resort spoke very little or no English - most notable the bar staff, but even the male staff member who checked me out. Staff are clearly more comfortable serving the well heeled visitors from Lima, rather than foreign tourists. Quality of food and beverage: the food was poor to average. La Trattoria was basic pizza and pastas, I suspect this is meant for all the kids. The main Ballestas restaurant is trying to be a pretentious/fancy restaurant but the food quality does not match. I did try to visit the Chalana seafood restaurant on the property, but strangely they didn't have an English menu so I left. Cocktails were poor, I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea and it was just Coke and Water, so I stuck with beer from that point. Smoking: I understood this was a smoke free property, but that wasn't the case. Guests were allowed to smoke in the outside area of the bar which was disappointing that I had to have people smoke over me while I was eating. Conclusion: I have no desire to return to Paracas, but if I did, I would probably try the Doubletree next time to see if that's any better. This resort did not meet my expectations, considering the price.

Dear MCTMASE, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback on your experience at the property. Our number one priority is to provide the highest level of hospitality. It's clear that while there were some positives, there were also several aspects that fell short of your expectations and I sincerely apologize for failing to meet them. It's great to hear that the front desk staff and Jonathan provided excellent service, and the room itself was peaceful and comfortable for a good night's sleep. Regarding the negative remarks about the condition of the room and the food & beverage quality, I have shared them with our leadership team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and reviewed. I hope you choose to stay with us again when your travels bring you back to the area. Cordially,

Everything we experienced was great: - the grounds are beautiful - pools are modern and heated - view from the beach on desert mountains are great - very professional staff, well trained for luxury service - everyone spoke English - rooms were spacious, modern, and clean - my wife loved the cosmetics they offer - food was great - on quality, choice, and variety (also for vegetarians like us) - specialty coffee available with dairy alternatives - located 5 min walk from El Chaco downtown TOTALLY recommend!!!!

Excellent hotel with beautiful rooms most are faces to the water. I had upgraded to a very nice and comfortable suite. The unique issue I had was the coffee offered in the room they told me was complementary only for one time, then you have to pay? I think so is ridiculous for the price of the hotel, even for a suite. I never heard about it at any Marriott hotels u stayed. Breakfast was great and delicious. I'm my second mornigs servers didn't take care of service. I have to raise my hand to someone to ask for coffee or order something, I stand up to bring some sugar paquete from other tables. Besides, this small issue the hotel deserves is a 5 star review. If I ll back to Paracas, it will be my first option

It's easy to get lulled in by the beautiful hotel grounds and room. And if you want to stay overnight in Paracas, this is rated as the #1 hotel according to TripAdvisor. However what you don't know is: This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel or a hotel representative of Marriott standards. If you're American and looking to stay with well known brands, you'd imagine a Marriott luxury resort would be the right place. But it's not. Hotel Paracas is a franchise run by a General Manager that doesn't keep the property running to standards we'd expect in the US. - Poor handling of injured guest. I arranged for a private tour through the hotel and got into an accident. The driver made an illegal left turn from the right lane on a two lane highway. It was the driver's fault. Hotel Paracas's response was lukewarm despite my injuries and it was clear that they were ill prepared to deal on property with injured guests. They didn't have protocols or procedures in place to know how to take care of injured guests. The staff appeared clueless on what to do other than apologize and look concerned. They effectively put the responsibility on me, the guest, to figure out what I needed when I'm in a foreign country, in the middle of the desert, and experiencing increasing levels of pain. They offered to cover seeing a doctor in Paracas, but it's a small town and I was advised to seek medical care in the capital where there are English speaking doctors that have better equipment and could potentially take my insurance. The Hotel refused to reimburse my bills even though I was in Lima just a few hours later. And even though my medical bills exceeded the cost of my stay, they refuse to comp my stay. They responded that they were magnanimous in comping my tour (which I couldn't attend because we were in an accident), a massage and thermal treatment (that I only needed due to the car accident), and transport back to Lima. Despite pleading for three weeks with Marriott corporate headquarters to intervene, corporate says that it's up to the hotel on how they wish to respond. So if you're expecting Marriott standards, don't. Marriott doesn't enforce the basics with this hotel at all. They couldn't even get the hotel to respond to my emails despite it being their policy., even after three weeks of trying - Limited resort amenities - There appear to be a host of amenities on property but it's far more limiting than you'd expect. It's not until you get to the property that you find out that most of the water equipment like kayaks and the catamaran are only available for small windows of time each day. Who kayaks only between 8-10am when at a resort? Likewise the restricted hours for the catamarans make it nearly impossible to reserve time. During our vacation we were never able to use any of the water amenities. If you're staying here, book your tours for the afternoon if you want to stand a shot at using the water amenities. Otherwise, you'll lose out on part of the experience you thought you were paying for. - Slow and unresponsive staff. A 4/5 star hotel should have attentive staff that ensures your needs are reactively & proactively met. That's not what you get at Hotel Paracas. It's largely slow or poor service. We sat at the restaurant for close to 20 minutes before being able to get basic water at our table. The restaurant only had a couple of tables with guests and even after begging the restaurant manager for water it still took that long. The service was super slow (and not in a vacation sort of way) and hard to get any wait staff attention. We also had service issues with scheduling the use of water equipment like the catamaran. We tried multiple times to reserve the catamaran never got out on the water once. The first time we tried they messaged us a few minutes before our reservation and said that it was postponed by over an hour. I had confirmed with the staff just a couple of hours earlier that we were OK to go out given the weather. And they said yes. However, they never bothered to inform me that they were running on a delayed scheduled. This is basic information they could have shared at that time. So we missed out on the catamaran that day since we had a tour and we missed out on using other resort amenities that morning because we didn't have enough time. On Day 2, we hoped to use the catamaran but just a few minutes prior to our reservation they messaged us saying that it was cancelled for the day. They could have let us know earlier in the day so we could have done something else instead. The weather wasn't ideal and they already knew that earlier that morning. Why wait so long to communicate with guests? And guess what happened the third time, cancelled but this time they notified us a wee bit earlier given my earlier comments to give us notice. We gave up after that. We just ordered room service or ate off property (when we could) because of the poor restaurant experience. And we just accepted that we couldn't take advantage of most of the resort amenities. I had high hopes for this property, but unfortunately the only great thing about this property is the room and grounds. But if you're expecting great service, good food, a safe environment, accessible resort amenities, or a caring staff stay elsewhere in Paracas. It's a small place right now with some limited options. There are a number of other hotels in the midst of construction. So hopefully you'll have more options in just a year or so. But honestly, most of the fun can be had with a day trip from Lima. You may be much better off staying in Lima (the Belmond MiraFlores is an amazing hotel!!!) and then doing a day trip to visit the park or to do the Nazca lines. If that's what you're looking for, you'll likely have a better experience and better food options.

I went all over Peru. We worked mainly in Lima and Ica but we had a short break in between. Paracas was the most amazing place. You need to be up early to catch the boat to go round all the islands. The "Candelabra" was the sight that impressed me most, even mre than Machu Pico.
