This was our first stay at playa Escondida but it definitely won’t be our last. We got home about a week and a half ago and I am already looking at our calendar to see when we can return. If you are looking for an all inclusive type resort with endless 24 hour entertainment options, this is not the place for you. What it does offer is a small resort with an endless opportunity to relax, enjoy the natural beach and jungle surroundings, eat good food, and meet the nicest people. Noe, Jesus, Joel, Mike and Diana... thank you so much for everything you did to make our stay amazing!! we ended up using the hotel transportation from the airport and it worked out perfectly. The room we stayed in was Sol 1 which has breathtaking views of the beach/ocean as well as a private jacuzzi. It also has air conditioning which we were grateful for and I’d definitely recommend if staying during the summer months. However other people we met were staying in rooms that didn’t have air conditioning and weren’t bothered by it. They said there were plenty of fans to keep them cool so I guess it’s all personal preference. The food at the restaurant was very good and prices were extremely reasonable (in our opinion... Yes you can get cheaper meals in town, but as far as hotel food pricing is concerned it wasn’t expensive). Because of that we ended up eating every meal there except for 1 lunch when we went into Sayulita. We only spent about $400 total including food and drinks. That was for 5 days (4 nights) for 2 people. I think I could live on the mahi-mahi ceviche alone. It’s so good!! The beach is beautiful and is absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset. There is a beach hut where they offer kayaks and SUP’s for free. He also offered to have us fish with him one morning although we didn’t take him up on it. There’s also an adorable beach bar and they are willing to bring drinks/food to your beach chair if you’d like to eat there instead of the restaurant. We took a golf cart into sayulita one morning. That was an adventure because the map they give you is not very well marked and we got turned around coming back. And then our golf cart ran out of steam going back up the steep incline so we had to get out and push it up the mountain. So you may want to ask for better directions before you leave and make sure your golf cart has enough power. But like I said it was an adventure and we are still laughing about it. Due to Covid, the resort was not full at all. I think we were one of maybe 6 or 7 couples/families. Because everything is open air except for the room, it was a perfect place to get away during this time. We will definitely be back!!

Christa, we really appreciate this detailed review, each room is special and unique in its own way and we are glad that you found the perfect one, that allowed you to live the Playa Escondida Experience. As you just said we aren’t for everybody, just for those who want something out of the ordinary, a “hidden paradise” for those who seek it. Besides the stunning views of nature, our team helps to make every occasion memorable because we love what we do, thank you for recommend our shuttle service, we've been working with for a long time, It's safe, reliable and comfortable, Furthermore, they know where we are located and knowns how to treat our friends. Our restaurant isn’t for making profit but to add to the experience and we are happy that you enjoyed every meal and that you could find your favorite one. Playa Escondida is without equal as a paradigm of safe refuge despite the pandemic we are leaving, fresh sea air, spacious private beach, verdant jungle surroundings in a perfectly healthy secluded beach environment. We will be waiting for you and Paul, see you soon for another adventure at paradise!

This was our 5th stay at Playa Escondida. We absolutely love it there. Every time we talk about going somewhere else, we just can’t let go of this Paradise. We stayed in Luna Amor, which had A/C. We loved it. The food was delicious and the staff are all wonderful. Because of the pandemic, there were fewer staff, which we understand why, with the Guest numbers being low. We sure did miss Juan and Jose at the beach bar and terrace bar. We want to give a special “Thank you” to Jesus, Mike, Joel, Noe, and Diana for always seeing that we were comfortable, and always have everything that we needed . They went above and beyond to see to our needs. I know we will be returning in the next year or two. Maybe we will try the Sol rooms or the Villas! Until next time friends........

Playa Escondida truly IS a hidden beach paradise. The private beach, the beautiful infinity pool & hottub, the delicious food, the oceanfront room...all did not disappoint. And while the property itself is amazing, it is the hospitality of PE that makes this place special. Everyone we met was kind & helpful but we especially want to thank Ixchel for promptly helping us with a hiccup in our arranged transport to PE, Angie for helping us plan our daily walks into Sayulita, Karina for freshening up our room every day & keeping us stocked with water, and Noe & Andre for taking such good care of us at our dinners, even bringing us a special honeymoon dessert :) My husband and I could not have picked a better place for our honeymoon and are looking forward to the next time we can go back!

Went for a short stay and plan to continue visiting and staying longer. My wife and I call Playa Escondida "Paradise" because it is! We could have easily spent all of our time relaxing and enjoying the facility, but with golf carts available to rent, we also went into the wonderful town of Sayulita a couple of times, which only enhanced the experience.

Thank you, Gordon. The contrast between the colorful energy of Sayulita and our relaxing privacy and natural beauty is a good balance for many of our guests. We hope to see you back in "Paradise" again soon.

Playa Escondida was everything I expected it to be and more. I can not say enough great things about the staff, the rooms, the food, the drinks, the entire experience. I am not usually someone who likes to just relax on a beach on vacation. I like to make sure there is entertainment nearby, etc. I can tell you that although we did leave the resort some, I would've been perfectly content with not stepping foot off of this property. Every single person who works there was amazing. The food is the best we had while there and we did visit other restaurants in Sayulita. And the views and property itself could not be more beautiful. We stayed in 3 different rooms while there (the plan was to stay in 2 but we ended up staying an extra night) and all 3 were totally different, yet perfect. I will say, for us, we liked the oceanfront rooms the best. Leaving the windows and doors open and hearing the ocean crash against the rocks provided the best sleep I've had in a long time. We stayed in the Ixchel Penthouse and Luna Serena and loved both. The outdoor shower in Luna Serena was amazing. We also stayed one night in the Cabana room and it was also beautiful. It's like an oversized luxury treehouse and is so different than anywhere I've ever stayed before. We did rent a golf cart and went into town, which we loved. We always took the jungle route and loved the views on the 10 minute drive there. There just isn't enough time to list all of the compliments that this place deserves. We had already decided before we left that we would be making this an annual trip from here on out.
