An Unforgettable atmosphere with very welcoming hosts. They took time for us and had good suggestions too.. Just a few kilometers away from lyon... one of the most beautiful cities in france..a small tipp from our part will be to buy the homemade red wine from their vineyards.

France is full of little chateaus owned privately and more or less transformed to hotels, B&Bs, hostels, conference hotels etc, etc. Ch de Longsard is one of those. Genuine and nice experience with a lovely host couple - apparently fighting to keep the property in shape. Since there is no staff, the hosts take care of you on a more...

We spent five wonderful days at the chateau early in September. We arrived later than planned and our host welcomed us warmly, providing a light supper with delicious wine. Olivier and Alexander recommended excellent restaurants to us as well as suggestions on how to spend our days tasting local wines. Accommodation was extremely comfortable and spacious. We particularly enjoyed relaxing...

We stayed here 3 nites and it was jaw dropping. Straivht out out of Revolution era France. Maintains its charm by not being spotlessly perfect. That said, the hosts were wonderful. After a morning cycling we'd return to Beaujolais from the onsite vineyard, petanque then silver service dinner. Incredible. Breakfast was classic France of fresh croissants cheeses ham coffee tea...

What a wonderful place. Our hosts Alex and Olivier treated us all like house guests rather than patrons. Also two in our group were began and Alex went out of her way to make us amazing food particularly the lasagne. A place rich in history and full of warmth. Chapaue.

What an interesting place to stay. We stayed for 3 nights with a group chasing the Tour de France. The Chateau is a little like we remember Sophia Loren, stunning but past her prime, but that just make the place more interesting. If you are looking for a polished Diamond this is not the place for you, but if you...

Don't be put off by some of the previous reviews. This is a lovely authentic chateau with easy-going, extremely friendly owners who could not do more to make you feel welcome. Okay so there are some grotty corners, but for us that added to the charm and we spent a fascinating morning wondering around the chateau grounds and outbuildings. We...

... both the Chateau and the hosts! We cannot recommend this beautiful and historically interesting chateau highly enough. The wine is wonderful .. and the home-made jams are to die for. The location is only a short distance from the Autoroute and so makes a very convenient break in a long journey.

This is a hidden delight. I have stayed here a few times before on business trips when traveling through France. This was our first time as a family and as always did not disappoint, how could this magnificent house (Chateau) fail to do so! Thought it was about time I put pen to paper and posted a review instead of...

Charming.Run by a delightful aristocratic Gentleman and his lovely American Wife, who will provide dinner if they are are sufficient guests or recommend a nearby establishment otherwise. Cuisine is delicious. Plenty of Beaujolais wine to drink from their own vineyard

“If we're staying more than 2 nights, I like staying in the EXCELLENT self-service apartments (you CAN usually book, ahead of time, to enjoy the Countess's wonderful home-cooked dinners). Dogs NOT in Chateau, but YES in the (very comfortable) apartments.”

“take any south-facing room on the 1st floor (aka 2nd floor for the French), they're slightly larger and have high ceilings, plus an amazing view over the french garden. They also have some more quiet and recluse studios in another building if an extended stay for work is in order.”
