Having myself had a super holiday stay at the Mas de la Rabassière, I have twice booked the entire house out for a week-long music course. Students, teachers and organisational staff have all thoroughly enjoyed Michael's warm welcome, incredible food, interesting conversation on every possible subject and in most possible languages, and willingness to help whatever the issue. He is... More

I enjoyed it all too, and love having musicians in the house. My 1900 Bluthner is generally in tune, but on this occasion the guests brought their own (7) harps. More

Our stay in the Mas de la Rabassière far surpassed our best expectations. Halfway between Aix-en-Provence and Arles its location is perfect for visiting the region while simultaneously enjoying the quietness and beauty of Provence’s countryside. The property includes an olive grove, a large lawn a swimming pool and the house, whose lovely decoration is warm and comfortable. Our bedroom... More

As a family we stayed only one night when passing through the area during a busy mini holiday. The B&B provided just the tranquility and charm that we had hoped for, but in addition the encounter with the host Michael F added extra value. Michael generously shared his vast knowledge of France and the area in particular. Our only disappointment... More

We had a four-night stay in May of 2015 and would happily have stayed another four nights. In a peaceful setting off a quiet road with a distant view of the Étang de Berre, the spacious house has a feeling of casual elegance. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with excellent reading lights and a large bathroom en-suite.The pool is... More

Recommended by friends as an up market B and B Mas more than came up to our expectations. An excellent breakfast was followed each day by a lunch, which although requested as light, was always of high quality. Dinner was introduced with canapé and champagne,(a lovely surprise). . Michael always joined us for lunch and a candlelit dinner shared with... More

This isn't a B and B, it's a private home, tastefully decorated, with nooks and crannies, lots of books, a superb surrounding garden with old pine and olive trees, a piano, paintings on the wall and tasteful furnishings. Our bedroom, facing south at the end of the house, was exquisite in a very old fashioned English way and very comfortable.... More

This is the sort of overall experience that does not come around too often. Easy summer facilities. A swim before dinner. Michael is a truly generous host, and the topics of the evening went from local history to London politics, and several points in between. It made me google several topics later in a burst to 'self improve'. The views... More

This is a guest after my own heart; dinner is a great opportunity for conversation and I love it. However the house is not like a cruise where you can get stuck with the same person's conversation every evening. There are good restaurants close by, so even if you have dinner on the first day and find things a bit... More

We stayed two days at the lovely b&b of Michael Frost. We were most welcome and greeted like old friends. We had dinner both evenings and we enjoyed every minute and every bite of it. Michael is a great cook and a wonderful host and entertainer. Our room was very spacious and cosy. We did not miss anything. Surely we... More

Mas de la Rabassiere was a completely relaxing and lovely place to stay, with access to everything we required. It's true it is not some flashy hotel, but it was completely clean, and we wanted for nothing. Michael's help and advice was indispensable, given freely and with enthusiasm. His dinners, often local recipes using fresh ingredients, are also delicious, and... More

We arrived at Michael in the evening. He was waiting for us with chamber music and dinner. We had dinner with him in both evenings and we will like to do it again. He is a great chef, his provencale dishes are delicious and its marvelous personality impressed us very much. The domain is very nice. We will come again... More
