Firstly, the reception was closed when we arrived at 6 pm. Not a nice thing when you have been on the bike for 10 h and the only thing you are dreaming about is cold beer and hot shower. Secondly, when we finally got the keys we were disappointed again as we expected to stay in the castle (that´s why...

We were looking forward to our one night stay at Chateau Magnans - we had booked based on Tripadvisor reviews - and were seldom disappointed. Chateau Magnans was - unfortunately - different: Good: - Easy parking - Friendly reception - Rooms are large Not so good: - Furniture old, worn out and - partly - defect (sofabed in our case)...

Nice location for our three day family break, short drive from rafting, horseback riding, climbing park. Mountain location means few bugs and good cool down in the evening. We had a two bedroom Appt. They make bedrooms small so living and terrace are huge - very pleasant. Simple interior makes it kid friendly. We took the 9 euro breakfast twice...

We had a great stay there last night. Very quiet, stunning views and excellent food in the restaurant. Service was friendly and we,ll be back. I don't normally write reviews for trip advisor but felt coelenterates to as it was an exceptional place.

Very pleasantly surprised by this place. Good service from staff. Nice dining room with free computer use. Good value breakfast. Free parking. Big rooms with sofas and cooking facilities. Great view from balcony of mountains and Ubaye valley. Location on a hillside not in the centre of Jausiers but not far. Not a huge amount going on in Jausiers. Some...

Spent 3 nights here as a family traveling through to Italy in March. I can understand the mixed nature of the reviews. First the good bits: The local area is great, with the pretty town of Bercelonette a few kilometers away. You'll probably need to go there to eat & use the local Supermarket, as there is no restaurant at...

When reading reviews of this hotel, I'm struck by the range....some found it excellent, others found it wanting. I think that peoples' level of satisfaction depends on their expectations before arriving and their sense of whether they got value for their money. In our case, expectations, especially in terms of service and management, were surpassed; and we feel that we...

We stayed here on our trip through the Alps in September 09 which was a great time to be exploring The Alps. We booked 3 nights for 180 euro including breakfast which was excellent value. Our 'room' was in the castle on the 2nd floor in a large 2 bedroom apartment with kitchenette and a massive outdoor balcony with views...

Just back from a week's driving holiday and this was the only one of seven hotels which we didn't pick with the help of tripadvisor; so we were a little apprehensive. However, it had good reviews via hotels.com and was in the area we wanted, so went with it. I'm so glad we did. From the moment we were met...

“You can stay in the chateau bit or a newer block. We preferred the newer block as it had a better room layout, though less 'character'.”

“Rooms at the front with a view of the mountains much better. Avoid lower floor rooms in the blocks as very creaky & noisy floors above.”
