We arrived in Houston, MO about dinner time. We stopped at the hotel, checked for "pet friendly" as I had my dog with us. Yes, pet friendly. We asked about restaurants and we advised about 3 with different specialties. We enjoyed a Mexican dinner and then checked into the Southern Inn. It was VERY clean. We were so relieved because we had just spent a previous night in a "less than desirable" place that had some decent ratings. During this Covid-19 crisis complimentary breakfasts are not offered in many places and it was the same here. We were not concerned. We were thankful for the clean room, clean and comfortable beds, and free - secure internet. Our desk clerk was very professional, friendly and helpful. A very pleasant experience. I recommend this Inn.
Stayed at this hotel in Houston during a rain storm and was glad to get off the bicycle and enjoy the comfortable bed and A/C for the night. Hotel had good WiFi, lots of TV channels and was clean. Most importantly, it was very quiet, as it is set off of the highway a bit, so that was great. Seemed a little pricey, but a quiet night of sleep made it worth while. Did not offer in-room coffee maker.
This hidden gem has cleanliness, comfort & quiet. No breakfast or fancy details here. No pictures on walls, but Convenient location has gas, retail, market & fast food in walking distance. Place looked closed with no cars or flashing open sign so we were nervous about stopping. It was cleanest motel we've visited. Good value.
Lovingly, small family owned motel-- if you are tired of anonymous big chain motels--this is the place for you. Very clean, friendly owner from England, all conveniences provided: fridge, microwave, hairdryer, great shower, plenty of fluffy white towels, spectacular sunset from west facing rooms--no highway noise, either! Only muffins for breakfast--but 2 nice NONCHAIN restaurants nearby--and if you are a lover of fast food chains--plenty of those around, too.
Stayed three days here while visiting relatives. Small but clean rooms. TV worked good. Felt safe in the room. Old style room but for the price it was more than adequate. Ask for AARP or AAA discount.
