I will be the first to say I am not a big B&B guy, but I have to say, I appreciate the effort and attention to detail the owners put forth. The grounds are well maintained, several places to relax and reflect. Various areas in and around the property to enjoy nature, animals, humming birds and the like. We also... More

We celebrated a birthday this past weekend at the Alpenhorn Gasthaus and it was a delightful treat! Our room was perfect, the food was excellent, the location is scenic and the Inn Keepers are wonderful people. A very nice weekend retreat!

My husband and I stayed 2 nights here over the past weekend. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already searching dates for when we can return. We stayed in the larger of the two cute cottage houses. It was clean and cozy. The grounds are well kept and we loved petting the cat, 2 sheep, and chickens... More

What a wonderful homey b and b. The innkeepers put their hearts into every detail. From the delicious breakfasts to the immaculately clean bedrooms this bucolic setting lends itself to a restful and very enjoyable stay while visiting wine country along the Katy.

We checked in and found this little B and B in Hermann to be exception. Greeted by the owner, he gave us a tour and ended it with our accommodations...the little house (Das Klein haus). This quaint, but welcoming cottage has an exceptional shower. Only negative was the bed was small (obviously based on the size of the cottage) and... More

Carlos didn't tell me where we were going. Just to pack a bag. We would be home Monday. So off we go. In the car for an hour and we pull into the cutest little historic town. Herman, MO. We walked around to a few little antique shops and had lunch. We were worn out! Time to go check in... More

If you're planning a trip to Hermann, be sure to check Alpenhorn Gasthaus for availability before anywhere else in town. The innkeepers, Adrian and Kate, will make sure you have the best possible stay. The inn is a piece of historical treasure and the grounds gorgeous. Breakfast is unbelievably delicious. Kate's cooking is like that you'd receive at a five... More

Stayed here over the weekend to bike the Katy Trail. Nice experience; hosts are very accommodating. Das Kleine Haus was small but no complaints. Spent time on the patio outside room morning and evening. Nice surprise was how good the food was for breakfast. They make a real effort to do more than the usual American breakfast. You're about three... More

We did not stay at the Alpenhorn, but decided to try the chocolate rendezvous offered after dinner. It was fantastic. The homemade chocolates were amazing, as well as a great selection of ports. Adrian was an excellent host, and we really enjoyed talking to him and learning about the town. The wine cellar was one of the most beautiful that... More
