Detailed Reviews
The Hermann House Inn is a great little bed and breakfast style inn. The rooms are suites with a living area, bedroom, kitchen, and private bathroom. The owners are super friendly and shared a little of the interesting history of the building with my wife and I when we checked in. The room comes with full amenities and the way the inn is set up it could easily provide for an extended stay. They have an in house laundry and the central location provides for easy walking to the downtown Hermann area.

The Hermann House Inn is centrally located within walking distances of all the shops and restaurants. The rooms are suites with everything you could possibly need. There are snacks and pastries along with juice, milk and water. The rooms are very clean, the beds are very comfortable and it feels like home. Laura and Chris are very kind and go out of their way to make you feel like family. Next time you are in Hermann make sure to check out this gem of an Inn. Gail

We had a family reunion in Hermann and stayed at the Hermann House Inn. It's a wonderful place! It is more than a bed and breakfast. Each apartment has a full kitchen, one or two bedrooms, depending on unit, and a living room. Exceptionally clean and comfortable! Outstanding service too!

Booked through Hotels.com. The property owners called me a week after booking to tell me they will charge me $100 more per night than they advertised on Hotels.com. They have a cancellation fee on Hotels.com they waited until the free cancellation window expired before calling me. Thereby, costing me money either way I went. They would not honor the Hotels.com price and the male kept yelling in the background at me during the call. Their excuse was that THEY had not updated things before taking a January vacation. So their mistake costs me money and time. Also very rude. Will never consider doing business with them again.

My wife and I stayed the weekend at Hermann House in one of the suites. Laura, the Innkeeper was so nice and she made sure that we had everything we would need for our stay. Very clean with more than enough snacks and refreshments provided in the room! Although, with all of the local options available, we hardly needed anything! The Inn is centrally located within a short walk to most of the shops and restaurants. It was our first visit to Hermann...such a nice town! The entire experience was even better than we hoped. We will be back and we will definitely stay at Hermann House! A+ to the Hermann MO community and to Hermann House!

Hermann is a beautiful, quaint German town full of wineries and hotels dated back to the 1800’s. I highly recommend visiting when you get a chance.
The hotel was beautiful. We stayed in a suite. The furnishings date back to the 1800’s.
We went to a few wineries. I can’t say enough about this town!!!

The couple that owns the hotel is so sweet and extremely nice. The town and hotel is very idyllic. Most definitely re one day the larger 2 bed. So much space and they leave snacks when you check in. Perfect location for a great weekend!

The rooms were large, more like an apartment and very clean. Our room had a huge tub which was great for relaxing. We were thankful for the cold ac and hot water. The location was within walking distance to restaurants and shops. We are definitely going back.

I don't know who is writing all the earlier reviews, perhaps it is friends of the owner. I was very disappointed the moment I walked into the junky thrift store to register for the room I had reserved. The hallway was stuffed with cast offs and was a mess. The owner greeted us with a comment about finally getting the bad reviews removed from Trip Advisor. That should have been my second clue. We rode he elevator (which included a black plastic bag of trash? that was stored there our entire stay) up to a poorly designed, poorly lit, one bedroom apartment furnished partially from things from the downstairs thrift store. We were shown the dry, sugar sweetened cereal for breakfast and the coffee with powdered creamer that we could make ourselves for breakfast. Not my idea of a satisfactory start to my 40 mile bike ride. To credit the owner, he did offer to get us something else if we would tell him what that might be but I was so flabbergasted that I couldn't think of any thing to ask for except some fresh fruit. The apple I got was great.
The place made me uncomfortable in a physical sence. The low wattage bulbs, the burned out bulbs, the junk, the single small bedroom window really made the place feel like a scary, dark, fire trap. As we were leaving, we overheard the air conditioning repair person explain to the owner that it wasn't working because somebody had wired it incorrectly and that the compressor was burning hot. Wow, I am glad I am out of there. Friends stayed at the Hill Top B&B and reported lovely accommodations, delicious cooked breakfast, and all costing less money.

Response from chrisoetting, Owner at Hermann House Inn
Responded Sep 17, 2013
If everyone takes your suggestion, 35 dogs and 45 cats will die of starvation. That messy thrift store, open seven days per week, supports the only no-kill Animal Shelter in our three county area. Volunteers serve the store. The trash bags on the elevator are excess items that are stored in the basement a waiting shipment overseas to third world Counties. We ship clothing, shoes, and books that are excess in our store. All items are donated by caring citizens. The apartment was of your choosing. All furnishings came from Basset stores, as they still manufacture in the USA. We serve a continental breakfast in your apartment consisting of coffee, tea, orange juice, milk peaches, oatmeal, cereal and pastries. You overheard a conversation with the alc technician. We have a Geo-Thermal HVAC system that requires periodic inspections. Perhaps you overlooked our fire sprinkler system, as well as our fire alarm system which is monitored 24 hours per day, not to mention the fire department is next door. Your limited knowledge and uncaring for animals is apparent in your review.

This is our second year staying here andwe plan on staying here as long as we visit Hermann. Chris is a wonderful host and the rooms are always very clean and well stocked. We like being able to cook our own breakfast and have a refrigerator to store our food in. It's almost like being at home because we fee so comfortable there. Location is great.
