My family and I visited this majestic place for 2 nights. After a 1.5 hr bumpy car ride from Villa Maria we were greeted by the staff where we parked our car and boarded the gondola. This place met and exceeded our expectations. It is located on top of a mountain, which is being taken care of and protected by its owner, a very welcoming and knowledgeable gentleman named Jaime. You will find yourself surrounded in local flora and the only sounds you will hear are rivers in the canyon, the birds chirping and hummingbirds flapping their wings. The rooms are fully equipped tents, with full bathrooms and a chimney. They have fresh coffee in every room and an very nice assortment of other hot beverages with an electric kettle. The beds are very comfortable and the shower has a view unlike any other.
Meals are served in a central dinning room by the friendliest staff you will ever meet. The condor sightings are amazing. As the nest is located below the lodge, you will have the privilege of seeing them (Calima and Pipinta) enter and exit their home throughout the day.
Rubber boots, binoculars and walking sticks are available upon request. This place is a must. If you need to disconnect, or like to sight see, or learn about conservation, butterflies, birds, local flora and fauna, you must visit this spectacular place.

We had a great time!
Ideal if you are looking for something different, in the middle of nature and have some peace. You can do trekking, mtb bike on top of the mountain “island”, bird watching, the Condors, and if the weather helps see the “Nevado del Ruiz”. We spent some days with kids (7 and 4) and it was amazing.
Highlights: nature, excellent food, services and attitude of owners and personal. Precautions: the las 1 hour off road to the site can be challenging depending on your vehicle. Also if you have them, take your best trekking shoes and clothes.

This is without a doubt, the best stay I've had in any lodging so far (anywhere, worldwide). What an experience and a major wow factor! If you like nature, bird watching, photography, this is indeed a must see destination. Not only will you get an almost guaranteed sighting of the endangered Andean Condor, you'll see many species of hummingbirds hovering throughout the gardens, as well as tanagers, woodpeckers, and the list goes on. The food is world class and something you might expect to see at Michelin star restaurant. The eco tents are glamping taken to the next level: such great comfort and attention to detail. This stay is worth every cent and I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone and everyone.

We arrived at the gondola station on my wife’s 78th birthday to find it wasn’t working. We were told our agents had been informed, not true. Nor had any of the agents been informed. We were told it would be a 1hour walk. Not true, it took 2 young backpackers 55 minutes.we were offered horses but not having been on one in 60 years we decided to walk. We were offered water but I was carrying enough for an hours walk. Halfway there I had to ration my water to make sure my wife had enough.
The so called walk was down one side of the mountain and a vary difficult climb up the other. In parts my wife had to be pulled up while I pushed from behind.
I arrived de-hydrated, totally exhausted and sick in my stomach. I spent the rest of that day and all of the next day lying down and not eating. My wife had a painful knee.
We opted for the horses when we left. We were told it was an easy 20 minute walk to the horses, not true again. It took 45 minutes down a track that was too difficult for the horses. My wife is now in constant pain and has to use a walk stick.
This is why I am so angry with management of this place because they put profit before customer safety.
I must add that on arrival , everything is 5 star, the accommodation, the staff, the food and the location.
I wish we had never set foot in the place. L.Bedford an 80 year old English man.

Response from El Nido del Condor Ecolodge, Director General at El Nido Del Condor Ecolodge
Responded Jan 30, 2024
Dear Leonard, We are truly sorry for the confusion and frustration caused regarding the hike and the gondola. We understand how disappointing it must have been for you. If you'd like, we can provide evidence that your agency has had all the necessary information about the hike and gondola since January 5th. We also offer the option to access the property by horse riding and have provided all the technical details on the trail, gradients, length, and estimated time. We regret that this information was not communicated to you effectively. For us, it's a shame that you couldn't enjoy the stay. We will work closely with the agency to improve our communication and ensure this kind of misunderstanding never happens again. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we hope that you will give us another chance to serve you in the future. Sincerely, Tomas Botero V.

Excellent treatment and service, offering very good treatment from the staff. It is also a good place to feel calm in nature and watching birds. The food is very tasty and the tents are very comfortable and hold up despite the rain.

We spent an amazing time, relaxing, enjoying nature and feeling beautifully disconnected. The location is incredible, a meseta between two canyons with green lush and loads of birds. Hard to explain with words, highly recommended!!

Nested on an “island” mesa in the middle of the Andes and with magnificent views of the Nevados National Park, this exquisite lodge in the style of the best African tented camps, is accessed via aerial gondola. A pair of Andean Condors nest on the Mesa’s ledge since 1998, providing extraordinary opportunities to observe this magnificent animal in all of its glory. The owners and staff are passionate, knowledgeable and extremely friendly.

This is the most awesome location. They Glamping tents had fresh beans you could grind and a French press to make coffee which was so fantastic. They provided high quality binoculars fresh flowers in the rooms. Seeing a pair of condors soaring through the valley was indescribable. We would all yell condor if anyone in camp saw them which was so cool. The have horseback riding tours that are quite exhilarating. I highly recommend the horseback riding tours. Nice wines are available for purchase and the desserts to die for! There are only 60 condors left in Columbia and we saw two here so special. The views from your room and from your shower/bathroom are off the charts. There is also a wood burning stove in your tent that makes it so cozy and they give you a wax/sawdust fire starter that lasts 40 minutes nice touch. Beautiful bath products care abundantly available as well. Highly recommend this fantastic experience ❤️

My wife booked for us to stay here whilst we travelled Colombia. El Nido Del Condor was one of the most amazing stops on our trip and a once in a life time experience. The restaurant was fantastic and witnessing the Condor fly through the Andean mountains an unforgettable site. The view of Nevado del Ruiz was also an added bonus. I would highly recommend for anybody travelling Colombia!

The entire experience at Nido Del Condor is fascinating from the beginning to the end.
The landscape, the views, the flowers, the clean air and peace and above all, watching the Condors fly so nearby.
Every detail in the room and the top service for anything you want to do or need, makes your stay even better.
The food is absolutely delicious, with local ingredients and prepared and presented with care and taste.
The owners, Jaime and Yamile, have made this beautiful ecolodge in a family project and you can feel how they have put their soul, interests and passions for the guests to enjoy a marvelous place to connect with nature, your family and friends and yourself.

Leonardo, no sabría decirte el dato exacto de temperatura. Pero una chaqueta gruesa sería suficiente. La sensación térmica puede ser similar a la de Bogotá.
