Hannibal is fraught with very important historical significance. Today it appears to be on the upswing from being slightly run down but with an interesting artist colony. The Garden House was charming and Chris is full of information about the area. He has led a very interesting life and happy to share his experiences. We were sorry his restaurant was... More

Always a delight to share Hannibal's rich history, along with our 1895 Queen Anne Victorian ,Albert Wells Pettibone home. Hannibal has always been on the upswing of development , as you can see in the area. Hope your travels bring you back this way to explore all the area has to offer and to dine at the areas finest restaurant,... More

I have never stayed in such a beautiful hotel - every room is full of period pieces, mixed in with some contemporary artwork. The owner is friendly and very informative about the building's history. Breakfast was delicious - with the first course laid out for us in the dining room with glasses of iced water, orange juice and a large... More

Thank you for your kind remarks and observations. The Garden House is one of a kind, representing a great part of our history past, a 1895 Queen Anne Victorian. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to be the home's caretaker for the last 13 years to keep the original owners name, Albert Wells Pettibone, alive and well for other... More

The owner gave us a great tour and history of the house. Although we shared a bath with another room, it was never a problem. The breakfast was wonderful, great conversation and interesting people. Comfy bed, good air conditioning (it was really sticky outside). Lots of town info given, plus deals on tours and restaurant. Loved it! Very charming! Unique... More

My husband and I stayed here this past June as we were moving across the country. It had been a dream of mine to explore Mark Twain's boyhood town and we decided that now would be a great time. We arrived after three days of driving from CA and we were not disappointed. Chris has a clear passion for the... More

Chris and Ari are wonderful hosts! Get Chris talking and you'll learn all kinds of interesting things about Hannibal history. The food is phenomenal; it's plenty to eat and tastes wonderful. We stayed in the East Room and it was very comfortable. The historic feel of the home is exactly what we were looking for, and yet the bed was... More

This B&B is in a beautiful old house on Hannibal's 19th century "Millionaire's Row", one of the town's historic neighborhoods. It's only a few blocks from the downtown historic and shopping district. Four rooms to choose from (North, South, East and West), all with luxurious feather beds, and shared bath. We've stayed here twice, and highly recommend it! Chris, the... More

Very nice home, I felt like it was the 1890's. Great host who knows the history of the town. I recommend staying here and it is pet friendly, quiet neighborhood, some of the other attractions in town were not open yet, if you visit go between April and October
