Front desk very nice and accomidating. First room was nice but toilet back up....had to be moved took 3 times to finally get a room with 2 beds, bathroom very tiny and floor was being renovated so we were up to midnight finally getting settled in. Breakfast lady very nice. Good for an overnight on the road stay.
I visit this area frequently and in the past, I have enjoyed staying at this facility. In the last three years, I have would estimate that I have stayed here for a total of 45-60 days. There are always small issues and that's okay. This stay there were multiple big issues that could not be resolved. I have always been allowed to check into this hotel 1-3 hours early without issue because they know that I drive a great distance to get here. This visit, I arrived 30 minutes early and was sent away for 30 more minutes. I was then told that each adult guest must be present at check-in with picture identification. Strange and very inconvenient. Every exit door in the building had an out of order sign on it and was securely locked except the main front entrance. It was determined later that this was so they can charge for entrance into the New Year's Eve party they were holding in their atrium. By the way, no one told us there was a NYE party being held at this facility when pre-booking two weeks in advance. You guessed it. The entire building shook until 2 am. My three-year-old granddaughter was scared and the party woke her multiple times. No one got the night's sleep that had been paid for. I am not a stick in the mud but I had just driven 16 hours and wasn't expecting to be kept awake ALL night. The next morning, we woke to find the buffet breakfast cleaned out. No food to be had and had to stand in line for a single cup of coffee. We left early and returned to find our room had not been cleaned at all. We were only supplied with two towels for 3 registered guests upon check-in. When I went to the desk to ask for more, I was told all they had was one bath mat. I asked for change for the onsite washing machine with plans to wash the towels. I was told they aren't allowed to give out change. I was told to get change from the change machine in their game room. The change machine was out of order. Pretty par for the course. I ended up leaving the hotel at 9pm to go buy more towels. When I began staying at this hotel 3 years ago it was perfect. The service was great and the people friendly. The pool was clean and the breakfast hot and plentiful. It is now a dive with management that cares more about $ than their guest's comfort and their employee's happiness. I will be back to Festus, at least, two more weeks this year. I will not be spending my money buying new towels because a hotel I paid to sleep at would not allow me to sleep or provide me with towels. BTW I wonder what they would have done on NYE if that building had caught fire with all the exits locked? Find a hotel where your life is valued over $!!!!!…
We were heading home from Tennesee and need a room. Charming fountain with a redneck weeding . The pool is green that I did not swim beacause it could make me sick on the wayhome to nebraska. The rooms where sort of clean with popcorn cellings . We woke up to get breakfast and the stars where hard to find. Never come back to this hotel.
The hotel is old and in awful shape. The smell was either overwhelmingly smokey or very strong air "freshener" attempting to cover up the smoke smell, it was awful. We had 2 rooms, in one the toilet would NOT flush, the other, the card keys did not work. It was frustrating. Attended a wedding reception on site and that is the only reason we stayed. The air-conditioning was loud and sounded like it was an airplane attempting to take off. We could hear everything going on outside of our room (from the hallway and outdoors).
When I found a cockroach on the carpet in our room, I captured it and took it to the front desk. The desk clerk said it was a water bug. IT WAS A COCKROACH. The clerk said that because we booked through a booking service, we could not get a refund. It was late, and everything in the area was booked. We moved to a different room where we spent a sleepless night.
