I had heard such wonderful things about The Elms Hotel and Spa. I was excited to splurge for my birthday and share a romantic weekend with the love of my life. The spa was amazing but the rest of the hotel staff seemed indifferent and unhappy. The lobby was freezing cold and so were the staff in the restaurant.

We went for a couples spa retreat. The spa and restaurant (Owls something) were amazing. Luxury. The hotel staff is not up to the same caliber. The heating unit in our room was broken during a weekend of 15 degree temps. We alerted them lack of rooms made it impossible to switch. They brought space heater which temporized things but it was equipped with a safety timer so when we fell asleep overnight or returned to our room from the spa, the room was frigid. The grounds keeper apparently came by when it was "warm" because of the space heater and told the front desk "It was warm when I was in there", so the front desk did nothing else to alleviate the situation during the remainder of our trip. Great hotel. Great amenities. Less than ideal customer service. Would recommend but do NOT accept suboptimal lodging because it may greatly affect your ability to relax and they may not fix it.

Great little getaway for a couple. The beds were okay but nothing amazing. We had a corner room which I loved because it let a lot of natural light in. I enjoyed the paranormal tour, although it may make it a little hard to sleep that night lol. Spa was really nice but expected a little more for the grotto. I did enjoy the pool in the basement and the outdoor spa. I can’t wait to go back in the summer and get to explore more.

My wife is really into paranormal activity, so what better place to spend our anniversary than a haunted hotel? Jay put on a great tour that took about an hour. He went into great detail telling stories about the history of the hotel and all the unexplained things that have happened there over the years. One story in particular was a bit creepy. I won’t go into detail, you’ll have to take his tour for that, but I will say that, after the tour, I had an unexplained scratch across my chest. It definitely wasn’t there before the tour, I was wearing a heavy coat due to the weather, so there’s no way it could have happened during the tour, and I never felt anything, so you can make up your own mind as to how that happened…

Nothing Exceptional and the spa services were very expensive. The architecture was impressive. I would rather have a more modern hotel. It's a good one time experience with local shops downtown for food and drink.

The price of the hotel would not be worth it, were it not for the proximity to the Spa. The rooms, restaurant, etc., are pretty standard hotel fare. The spa experience, however, was unquestionably great and worth the premium you pay.

2 of my daughters & myself went for a long weekend. It was exactly what we needed. The Spa was amazing. The hotel & rooms are very nice. We stayed on the 5th Floor (extra cost), however it was definitely worth it. Happy hour was 4 - 6 each day we were there with snacks & wine or beer. Debbie was so nice.

The employees were wonderful and made the overall experience very good. The room was nice, but had very uncomfortable beds. The servers and banquet leader were very good and attentive in making the luncheon we attended very nice. The two pool areas (inside and outside) were above and beyond great.

This hotel is great with cute charm. Lots of things to do within the hotel and get relaxing swimming options. I would give this hotel a 5 star if they would upgrade their beds. The beds are so uncomfortable that I cannot stay for more than one night and all the relaxation in the spa or outdoor hot tub is ruined by a horribly uncomfortable nights sleep. I love this hotel and wish they would upgrade their beds.

We were welcomed with a dirty room, no soap in the shower, light out in the bathroom. TV was on the brink of going out and the pull out bed was like sleeping on rocks. At check in We were told we could see the safe in the spa- then when we went to look we were told by the spa staff we could not. Miscommunication? The ghost tour was good, but Jay definitely needs to slow it down. There’s a lot of history and it would be nice to be able to listen to it all. It was so bad we checked out a day early- knowing we would be forfeiting the cost of the room. At check out the lady informed us she would waive the early check out fee. Are you kidding? We’re leaving because of a below par experience and you would even consider charging a fee. Disgusting. The only bright spot was Deby working on the 5th floor. No anticipation of returning.
