We had a nice quick getaway from Kansas City at The Elms. Booked a Royal Parlor Suite at the 5th floor. Room was mostly updated; shower pressure not great, toilet didn't flush that well. Bed and bedding very comfortable. Never saw another soul on the 5th floor during our stay except the ghost tour. No amenities on the royal floor due to covid; we'd have appreciated some beverages and snacks at the royal lounge area at least but the 5th floor common area didn't look like it had been cleaned in a while. We had to ask for the royal robes that were not in our room.Ghost tour was fun. We enjoyed our massage and facial at the spa. The European lap pool was nice but could use some updates such as the rusty rail by the pool. Dined at the 88 three times; very limited menu and too much salt but friendly service. Please add more options for dining for your guests that want to dine on site and throw away the salt from your kitchen. Front desk staff Chanelle, Austin and Noah were the highlights of the staff and the property and made our stay special. Chanelle arranged a shuttle to take us to Fence Stile Winery for a tasting and wine cave tour; Austin and Noah were very friendly and professional taking us there and back. The only parking option was outside and not covered. Overall nice stay if you set your expectations right that you are there to have a chill staycation and nothing extravagant. Thanks for the hospitality.…
Very nice place, some remodeling going on at entrance, staff very friendly room was very clean and roomy. I Highly recommend this place in very small out of way place. Building inside and out has old world charm. With modern conveniences. The restaurant food was exceptional and so was the staff.
Very expensive for just an ok experience. Spa was AMAZING, I would go for just the spa but not stay next time. The room was nice but smells. Front desk workers are nice but the bartenders are rude. The place is beautiful but I don’t think I would go back.
First off, the staff at the Elms were top notch. Everyone from the front desk to the spa to the bartenders and the cleaning staff were so wonderful to work with. They always had a positive attitude and were almost always trying to see how they could help in any way. Kara, the sales manager, worked directly with us and accommodated us when a winter storm disrupted our travel. She was able to push our reservation back for us, reschedule our appointments, and everything was perfect when we arrived. They really care about their guests. The spa was fantastic. We had an 80 minute couples massage with Noah and Sheridan. Very professional and very thorough. We had food in the bar/lounge. I had a bacon cheeseburger (so good) and wife had steak frites. We both enjoyed our meals. The outdoor hot tub was running the entire time and was a great contrast to the freezing weather. Also, the elevator was fixed during our stay! Which was good for the late night walk back to room from local brewery lol. We had a 5th floor suite room with a private lounge on our floor. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel is charming and well worth the price. 10/10 will return. Great romantic stay for couples, for sure.…
Great courtyard to walk around. Also has a bar and grill inside, huge hot tub ( aprox. 15 X 15 ft ), a 10 ft pool with outdoor bar in the summer, indoor lap pool, indoor hot tubs, and of course the spa. Al Capone has stayed as well as Harry Truman and many more. It is a great friends trip, bachelor/ bachelorette trip, romantic getaway, or just traveling solo for business. Great brewery and BBQ walking distance. It feels like stepping back in time when you walk up to this place. Full of history! Only 30 min to KC.
