We had reservations for last Saturday night. We made these reservations through the IHG website 3 weeks in advance. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that they had overbooked by 11 rooms and they were not able to honor our reservations. The lady at the front desk made a half hearted attempt to find us another hotel with availability, but she was being kept busy by other people checking for rooms. I called several hotels myself & could not find any within a 20 mile radius with availability. I asked the lady at the front desk to please keep trying and told her that if she could find me a hotel within an hour I would take it & she could call me and let me know where. We were in town for a concert that my daughter got tickets for for her birthday. My wife & other daughter had planned to stay at the hotel. Since we could not find another hotel and there were no more tickets available for the concert, we had to just cut our losses and head home. We finally found a hotel in Springfield, IL (about halfway home). I called the next day to talk with a manager about the situation & explained to her that not only did we drive 7 hours round trip & I missed 2 days of work (unpaid) for nothing, I had a broken hearted 11 year old that missed a concert that was supposed to be a part of her birthday. I asked the lady if they could at least cover the cost of the Springfield hotel & she told me she would talk to her General Manager on Monday & was sure they could "put something together" for me. She said she would call or e-mail on Monday. As of today, I had not heard anything back from the hotel, so I called & spoke with the General Manager myself. She said the best they could do was give me 10,000 rewards points, equal to about $50 towards a room. That covers about a 3rd of the cost of a room for 1 night. I could not believe that they didn't at least offer a full free night, not that that would have been much better. I thanked her for their offer, but told her I would never use them as I will never stay with the hotel chain again. What a joke. I'm out $800 in gas, hotel cost, concert tickets, wasted leftover food, & missed work, plus I have a very sad little girl and you offer me rewards points. That doesn't cut it.

You can NOT rely on the shuttle service to pick you up. Called them for pick up from the airport, was placed on hold for over 20 minutes. While on hold, my husband called as well. The phone rang so many times that the call was disconnected. He tried again (I was still on hold), an employee finally answered and told him it would be 15 minutes. I called them again after 30 mins of no show, was told it would be another 15 mins. An hour & a half later, we were STILL waiting to be picked up. Called again, was told the shuttle had already picked up several people from our location which is nothing but a lie since we are the only people waiting for that hotel. Never again will we stay at this location.

Don't eat at restaurant first (no complimentary breakfast), food bad, high price, terrible service. Room was OK but absolutely nothing very good. Then in middle of day had to leave room due to crew in hotel to clean the a/c vent in our rooms. Front desk during day not accommodating or helpful at all. Never stay here again

We stayed here on our way to our vacation destination and on our way home as they provide airport transportation (and you can park for free). On the night before our flight out, we arrived at 8pm to find that our room was not ready yet and had to wait for it to be cleaned. We had brought food in and they did allow us to eat it in the restaurant, while noting this was normally not permitted but they would make an exception given the circumstances. 🙄 🤷‍♀️ On the return trip, it only got worse. 😬 The front desk lady was too busy playing with a dog to tend to us so we had to wait several minutes with an extremely cranky 3 year old. We went into our room to find no soap or trash can in the bathroom. I ended up washing my hands with shampoo. The smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag. (I still haven't figured that one out) 🤦‍♀️ There was only one cup for coffee and only one coffee pod (which my hubby said I really needed at this point 🤣). When we went to get on the elevator to leave, the sign below summed up our visit. This hotel is like running from the fire but going up the stairs instead of down. 🙄 🤷‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ Don't do it!

I usually stay at Marriott and IHG properties. I like staying in this part of town because it’s close to creve coer lake. I got low standards for hotels. I really do. I liberal with giving out 4 or 5 ratings. I decided to give this a 2 rating though. This place needs some renovation. You can tell with the walls, carpeting, furniture, etc ... that this place is old. Shower pressure was low. Bathroom was cramped. No complimentary breakfast due to COVID19. Not a valid excuse in my mind. The Holiday Inn express on lindell in the central west end somehow manages to provide a breakfast while mitigating risk. Other hotels I’ve given stay at recently provided breakfast. Good parts of the hotel: friendly staff, good WiFi signal, and fitness center was open. Unfortunately, the lady at the front desk, while friendly, seemed like she was new. She didn’t know a lot about things. The lady who really what she was doing showed up and bailed her out. Good thing she happened to be there. Overall, I won’t stay here again. I’ve stayed at Marriott properties in Earth City so I’ve got options. If I do stay at an IHG property, then i would go elsewhere.
