This 4 day adventure is one that I wish I could give to everyone that I care and love! What a wonderful gift it was to be sent here for my birthday! This was the best way to relax and unwind and get away for the craziness of busy city life! Yes its very remote and in the true hills of the Ozarks with dirt roads, rolling beautiful hills trees, wildlife, and most of all scenery with the river that looked like a tranquil painting! We stayed in the Hideaway and it was beyond beautiful and perfect! We tried the canoe floating trip for the 7 mile float and loved it! We had never ever floated before and did just great! My husband and I loved it so much we went back and did it again the next day for another 7 miles! If your searching for a quiet and peaceful place to go then this is your place! The owners treated us like family and were extremely caring and kind too! We will be back!!!

My wife turned 50 and we wanted to get away for some quiet time. I found ROLF online. First Myron was awesome and the booking process was pretty easy. We stayed in Whispering Pines and it was secluded, and perfect for 2 people. Some good hiking on the place itself and you're close to Mark Twain National Forest. Everybody was super nice and helpful Our 2nd day we went kayaking and it was AWESOME! Highly recommend, and we will most certainly be back in the future.

My brother Mike and I have been going to the Ozarks for 45 years. I have also taken my wife and kids there too. ROLF and Myron is our favorite spot. Myron and crew will help you with anything to make your experience great. The stream is perfect and we love the peace and solitude. No one bothers you there. You can do what you please without alot of people. I can't say enough about the place, it is truly one of the best places in Missouri. I almost hate to write such a good review becasue Im afraid this great secret spot wil be discovered by the masses.....but so be it. We love you Myron, keep up the great work. I just gt back from there, and already miss it. Jeff and Mike "The Miller Brothers"

We wanted a quiet place to unwind for our 30th Anniversary. Upon arrival our room was not clean, in fact the dirty sheets, toilet, piles of towels from previous guests is what met us at the door. The housekeeper quickly came and we sat outside for 30 minutes. She said it was as good as she could do in 30 minutes and then proceeded to tell us about her interaction with the owner over the mishap. The worst part and one I hope to forget was the “peaceful float” that almost ended my life. Be warned there is no guide even though the contract releasing the owner from liability states there IS a guide, the owner does not check water levels or river conditions. We were amateurs at floating but having been raised at the lake knew a bit. Our canoe was caught in a rapid and sucked under a massive stump pulling me with it. My husband came up and looked for me, thank God he was able to flip the canoe-I was fighting for my life under water for a little over a minute. Once I was up we were alone with no choice but to keep going with one oar on a very fast flowing river. We flipped again, by this time my face was gray and lips purple. I am bruised over the entire lower half of my body. A very kind group helped get us to a pick up point. The first call to River of Life my husband was told the girl was by herself so it would be awhile. My guardian angel, Meghan, called again and the owner picked us up almost immediately. He told us Happy Anniversary and did not charge us for the “float”. Worst experience of our lives one I am lucky to have come out of alive. $550.00 for horrible memories, days of missed work due to a concussion and a feeling of drowning I won’t soon forget. Be warned if you choose to float.

Stayed in a fabulous cabin and had the whole river to myself for fishing. Can not beat that for a January day in Missouri. Fishing was great and the cabin/view was unbelievable. If you need a fishing fix in winter, this is the place.
