Detailed Reviews
We were a family of 4 adults with a small kid who visited the ROLF for 2 nights a fortnight ago and we had a very awesome experience at this unbelievable location which was indeed a tryst with mother nature. The place is so beautiful located in a tree lined valley ,with a number of tree houses and cabins lined overlooking the calm flowing North Fork river. It such a quiet place, oozing with freshness all around, one which gives you total relaxation ,both in the mind and body. The calmness is only interrupted with the sound of chirping birds and an occasional animal which shows up to graze in the valley. The cabin was comfortable and we had set up a bar be que to enjoy one fine evening. The breakfast & dinner served on firm order was gorgeous , the Chef was proficient and he along with his wife were indeed very hospitable. We couldnt do the hiking part as it began to pour intermittently, however , on day two , we went for a river float and paddled down the North Fork River which was indeed fun and great recreation. The deboarding/delaunching part of our float got a little tricky as the the water current didn't permit us to hit the bank and one of us had to jump out and pull the boat to the bank.It is suggested that a safety net be strung across the river to assist first timers/ novices to reach the river bank with ease. The float was a memorable experience.
The owners, Myron and Ann were extremely warm and everwilling to render us any kind of assistance that we needed.Infact ,they showed up at every place where we were, just to ensure that our visit went off perfectly. They certainly took great care of us and no wonder that the entire ROLF complex is in great shape.
Overall ,we had an awesome trip.

The owners/managers of River of Life Farms are quite friendly and keep the grounds and cabins very neat. You don't know what you might see. The wildlife (fish, deer, armadillo [I saw my first "live" and they were a momma and baby], springs, and many other sites in the area.
The cabin (Cedar Chest) we stayed in was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. There were dishes, pots, dish towels, and dish detergent in the kitchen and towels and wash clothes in the bathroom. There are no paper products (other than toilet paper:). The jetted tub was quite relaxing after a long day of rafting and/or fishing. It had a nice view of the river and the building was easily accessible. Pay attention to the signs that tell you general information, like the cost of renting float items.
The last few miles to River of Life Farms and the surrounding area were a little difficult. The signs don't always let you know which way to turn and there is quite a bit of rock road. One was being grated as we left. We were in our car, but we will take the truck next time. Yes, I'm sure we will return!
A peaceful place off the grid. You have to go to the lodge to get internet. :)

We stayed in the Mountain Lookout Log Cabin. It was situated in a perfect location, even though there are other cabins nearby, you have a lot a privacy. Our cabin had a large deck with a great view of The Falls. We had a 2 yr, 1 yr and 4 month old and there was plenty of room in the cabin for everyone. My husband would have liked to have a tv (with service) to watch when he wasn't fishing, but he survived!! My married kids said it would be a great place to stay with friends, so I'm sure they will be back.

This is one of the most beautiful views you can choose to grace yourself with in Missouri. The staff was so generous and attentive. My group of friends had one of our favorite float trips here we have ever had. The cabin was great, the atmosphere outstanding, and my memories of this place are 100% positive.
The staff was so generous and attentive. The gentleman who runs this "resort" gave us top notch customer service. He drove us to our put-in point while leading a spirited sing along to start our day out just right. A staff member generously helped dispose of our trash/recycling and loaded my kayak afterward. They both proved that a small operation such as theirs can exceed the quality of a much larger outfitter.
Fun facts:
Body surfing the rapids at the falls just before the take-out point was a blast. An orb spider enclosed our deck seating with her web while we visited into the night, and we woke to her ethereal masterpiece the next morning. We had such a spectacular experience at ROL Farm!

My family stayed at the River Falls cabin and it was superb. Perfect view of the falls on the river from the deck and peaceful to hear the falls with an early morning cup of coffee while waking up and enjoying the morning from the deck. The cabin was very spacious, enough for a queen air bed added. Very clean and well taken care of. Owners were very accommodating and the nicest people. We rafted from Hammond to ROLF and it's a long float with kids stopping all the time but did it about 6 hours. We took our own tubes and floated the next day from ROLF to Blair Bridge. It was the perfect little float of about 2.5 hours and wasnt so tired. I would highly recommend staying here and do plan on repeating. The on property store has just about everything you need from water shoes, coozies, hats, all the lotions and sunscreens, to small snack foods. You'll need to buy cold items like dogs and hamburgers elsewhere or just dine in their restaurant. Nothing to complain about here unless you're just not a very easily pleased person, but maybe this little peace of paradise could soften that heart.

Awesome treetop hideaway cabin, secluded and very beautiful setting next to the North Fork River. ROLF is the perfect getaway from the hassle of big cities. The cabins have a full kitchen set-up, comfortable king size beds, and if you choose a jacuzzi for those romantic nights. And a generous back deck to sit and watch the river and wildlife, or plan a day of floating down the river. I had never been able to float down a river before, however I found this river easy to use a canoe for the float trip. Many thanks to Ann and Myron for this wonderful and peaceful experience! They are very gracious hosts of their awe inspiring Ozark hideaway!

This was a beautiful place to get completely unplugged and enjoy nature. The tree house cabins are roomy with an outside grill and fire pit. Whirlpool indoor and nice hot shower. Stargazing was fantastic and we saw river otters on the river. We will definitely come back!

We visited Missouri with friends on our quest to see all 50 states. Everything about our visit to ROLF was perfect. The treehouse was delightful - beautifully maintained, amazing layout, clean, and stocked with the essentials needed to cook inside and outdoors. Owners Myron and Ann are true gems. If you need anything, they are there to help make your stay a relaxing one. They also provide opportunities for the right amount of adventure - tubing, rafting, kayaking/canoeing, fishing, hiking... all that the Ozarks have to offer. You can easily visit the lovely sites of Grand Gulf State Park and cross into Arkansas to see Mammoth Spring Falls. At night, you can grab some reasonably priced wood from the on-site general store and enjoy the stars by an outdoor fire. Don’t miss this little piece of Heaven!

The cabins are fairly nice, quiet environment, great views. They felt dirty, the hand soap was watered down, comforters didn’t look clean and no shades on the large windows in the back of the house where the sun shone in early. The food was not good, they ran out of items, substituted main dishes without consulting and treated our large party like we were an inconvenience. I recommended bringing your own food if you decide to stay here. The river was pretty; kayaks are the way to go, not enough of a current to keep a raft moving.

This was our second visit to ROLF & it truly didn’t disappoint! Our first visit was in 2015 and we stayed in the Whispering Pines cabin. A historic flood event kept us from going to our cabin the first night, but the rest of the visit was spectacular! We witnessed the rare waterfall that previously happened 30 years ago, and it was gone the next day. Our second visit we stayed in Bungalow cabin. It was beautiful. We loved listening to the roar of the river below from the covered back porch. We saw deer, armadillos, and even a beautiful stray cat! We hiked to Inspiration Point and also played with the grounds’ goats. The lodge had major improvements from 2015, which included a merch shop and a restaurant! We absolutely cannot wait to be back in the near future (hopefully)!
