We rented the primitive Line Camp Cabin for three nights, desperately needing an escape from 2020. It was everything we'd hoped for and more. The cabin was clean and simple, with a comfortable bed and fantastic porch. The outhouse, outdoor shower, and other basic facilities were clean and just right for the setting. The outdoor fire pit was well-built and worked nicely for camp cooking.

We deeply appreciated the isolation of this cabin. It was great to be able to walk down to the river and put in a canoe, paddling a short distance up and down the Gasconade. A short walk through the woods also leads to some nice blufftop glades with views across the valley.

One note, the road down to Line Camp is steep and somewhat rough with a few places requiring clearance (like water bars carrying drainage off the road). Our 4WD SUV handled it fine, but you may want to ask about road conditions depending on weather and what you're driving.

The hosts are fantastic and I strongly recommend reading Tom's book (provided in the cabin and sold in-place and online) to get a stronger sense of their ethics. In many chapters I felt that I was reading my own thoughts on the value of travel, open-mindedness, and simplicity.

Again, we cannot recommend this setting enough for those who appreciate a simple, quiet retreat.

You found just what we wanted - why we built the remote cabin at the site where an Ozark family once lived. You make us proud.

We've been to Rock Eddy maybe eight times in the past year. We can't get enough. It's always perfect, rain or shine. Plenty of space for the dogs to run, and we had everything we needed.. For our past two visits, we stayed at Indian House, up on the bluff. That cabin is just perfect! It's so easy to get away with the dogs to this little cabin at the top of the bluff. It feels very isolated and private. There's plenty of room to let the dogs roam safely, and enough trees have been cleared nearby the cabin (not too much, though! it's still very much in the woods) to play some frisbee! The Indian House cabin has everything anyone could need, and the bed is also super comfortable. I'd like to stay forever. :) We'll be back again and again! Tom, Kathy, and Heather always take such great care of us. Thank you!

And we have come to look forward to your visits and we now count you as friends. Well, of course, we love this glowing review, but we, by far more, love seeing folks like the two of you find what they are seeking at this place we all love so well.

If you're looking for a quiet, out-of-the-way place for a nice retreat from the busyness of the world, this place is fantastic. It has a great view and is super private. Heather was an amazing hostess who gave us a great welcome and tour. The cabin is simple and rustic, comfortable and cozy, cool in even the worst August heat. It's not luxury, but if you're looking for a place like this, you're not looking for luxury. The beds were comfortable, and some breakfast items were left for us to cook, which was a nice touch.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Indian House Bluff Cottage at Rock Eddy Bluff for our 17th wedding anniversary. The property was very peaceful, beautiful and quiet. The cabin is older but perfect for a quiet secluded getaway. If you are looking for something super fancy with all the frills this may not be the place for you. Cottage was well stocked with kitchen items and bed linens. Another couple floated the Big Piney and Gasconade River with us on our 2nd day and stayed with us in the cottage the 2nd night. There was plenty of space for all of us. The view from the cottage is gorgeous and the fire pit with firewood was perfect to spend the evening outside around the fire. Kathy and Tom Corey are super sweet, friendly and helpful! We definitely hope to go back someday!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rock Eddy Bluff Farms. It’s located high above the Gasconade River and the breezy views are so relaxing. We canoed on the Gasconade and enjoyed the opposite views looking straight up hundreds or feet to the top of the bluff. Not to be missed is the nearby Clifty Creek trail which is a 2.5 mile wooded loop around a section of the ancient clear water creek.

We’ve stayed here a few times and enjoyed the off the grid Line Camp cabin and this time the Turkey Ridge Cabin which has all the comforts of home.

Owners Heather, Tom, and Kathy are extraordinarily kind and helpful people.

We hope to return before winters closing.

Went for my birthday weekend with the husband and dogs. We had the most wonderful, relaxing time ever. The house was clean and comfy but we spent most of our time outside. The hosts provided the firewood and Mother Nature provided the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. We will definitely return

This is our second time to Rock Eddy’s & Phoebe’s cabin is our favorite! It’s our time to unplug and enjoy the scenery. We love the rustic feel, oil lanterns, coffee percolating on the stove and a fire going outside.

Country-style accommodations, very comfortable setting, away from traffic, noise, and people. A perfect escape from a busy, stressful life. There's a large fire pit with a fabulous view of the Gasconade river.

We had such an amazing time at Phoebe’s Cabin & enjoyed bring “off the grid” with many comforts of home. It was fun cooking on the old stove & showering outside w/the solar shower. Lovely, responsive hosts!

Go hike at Clifity Creek if you can & see the natural arch!

The hosts are wonderful and the cabin has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. You can hike, canoe and explore as little or as much as you would like. Being able to have a campfire every night and then go in and shower up before going to bed in a nice comfy bed is the best kind of camping. :).

Each cabin and cottage has full kitchens or kitchenettes. We provide a basic breakfast that guests prepare on their own. Food prep is not a problem.
