Hotel's Favorite
I got a wheelchair accessible room with two queen beds and a bathtub. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the service was great. The location is near the University of Missouri and a number of restaurants. Although they do charge for parking, it's the least expensive paid hotel parking I've ever found at $5/night. I was able to check in early (1:30ish), which was really helpful, I would definitely stay here again.
I got the grits with shrimp and bacon for breakfast one day, and I wouldn't recommend that. I think it would be better without the bacon. There was a layer of grease on the top, and the grits were a bit runnier than I am used to having.

Expect to receive over-the-top treatment and service at the Broadway Columbia. The check in was conducted following strict protocol. Everyone was masked and distanced staff and guests as well. Great lengths were obviously taken to sanitize the entire room. Our room door had a seal on it indicating it had been sanitized and treated with Lysol. The television remote was sanitized and wrapped with the seal as well as other highly touched surfaces in the room. I have asthma so the cleanliness was well appreciated and I could breathe! The front desk called after our arrival to make certain the room was acceptable. Without doubt I would stay there again!

We arrived midafternoon on a Saturday during the summer. Due to the pandemic and the school schedule, it was not terribly busy. We were greeted by a very friendly desk agent who presented us, in addition to giving us a great room, gave us vouchers for an appetizer or a breakfast. The bartender was extremely helpful and competent. The restaurant on the top floor has an outdoor patio overlooking the city which was wonderful as we were there on a beautiful evening. I can recommend the crab cakes and the antipasta plate. Breakfast was also quite good. I had the eggs benedict and my husband had the spinach frittata. Staff was attentive to the social distancing rules, the masks and gloves and we felt quite safe.

A modern, clean and completely comfortable experience. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown, with easy access to a parking garage, which costs $5 for in and out privileges all day. The decor is modern, the room spacious and clean. There are two bars, a restaurant - everything you could want. I visit Columbia about once a year. This is my first stay at this hotel and will definitely return. It’s a little pricey, but worth it.

Doubletree is the most inconsistent of the Hilton brands, and this property is no different. The rooms feel more Hilton Garden in refinement, but the experience is full-service. The location is central to downtown, and the roof top bar onsite is quite fun. Just do yourself a favor and avoid staying on the 7th floor, which sits just below the rooftop venue.
The hotel team's service levels were very good, and I found the breakfast reasonable in price. There just wasn't anything special about this property that supports the high pricing (especially in the "off season" other than its location and lack of full-service properties in the area. It certainly felt more institutional than urban.

Thank you for the review ssm949. We appreciate your feedback. Our hotel is uniquely designed for Columbia and is an endorsed hotel within the brand of DoubleTree. Therefore, we will not follow the same look and feel as most other DoubleTree hotels. We are glad that you enjoyed our service which is just one of the many qualities that make our hotel special.

This is a stock Doubletree hotel, the restaurant has awesome food along with a great staff. I really enjoyed the location right on broadway walking distance from everything. The parking garage for my car is next door and was very convenient. It is $5 per day whether you just park there or stay at the hotel...I appreciated it not being marked up by the hotel. The room was a little dark but very comfortable. I enjoyed the up to date bathroom but the bed a little lumpy. I would stay here again. Also, you need to visit the roof top restaurant/bar for drinks and/or dinner...great views!

This property has everything you could want in a hotel: clean, spacious, and modern rooms; dedicated & friendly staff that go the extra mile and are excited to work there; central location close to bars & downtown attractions; easy parking; and an incredible on-site restaurant & bar (Eleven Eleven). Olivia M facilitated both my check in and check out and was a pleasure to deal with. If you’re staying at the hotel, make sure you check out the restaurant/bar for some great food or drinks - Sam the bartender is phenomenal and Anna during breakfast went above and beyond to make sure every guest had a great experience. I can’t speak highly enough about this hotel and the staff and have no doubt you’d enjoy your stay here.

Chose this hotel as it looked nice and close to the university. Read some reviews about noise from the rooftop bar before arrival so chose the 5th floor which was 3 floors away. Apparently 3 floors are not enough. We could hear the booming noise from the dj they apparently had in the bar. We requested a new room and moved down to floor 2. We could still hear the noise and considered just changing hotels but we arrived in the evening after a long day on the road and just wanted to get to bed. So, with earplugs and white noise we made it work. The rooms are nice, beds comfy enough, restaurant was good. The place seemed to be hopping with the the nightlife in the bar upstairs which was not what we were looking for. I don’t really understand how the hotel allows loud music (til 1 AM!!) that disturbs the guests who are paying for rooms. It’s just CRAZY to me and something they should warn all guest about in advance. After speaking to the front desk the next morning they comped part of our room, which we appreciated. But what we would have appreciated more is hotel that allowed us to sleep without the booming sounds of a nightclub.

Downward decline. Always full of middle aged drunks on almost every floor and especially on the roof which is some kind of bar/club. You will have the pleasure of being awakened by the loud music, which incidentally I could hear in my 5th floor room three stories below the bar. On one night, Friday, I even had the pleasure awakening at 1 am to such loud screaming that I ran to the window thinking there was a riot outside. Nice right? You won’t get much rest here. And if you stay due to a meet or athletic activity with your family and have to be up at 5 am, you won’t have a good experience. The breakfast starts at 6 if they let you sit right at six and two of the three mornings, it delayed by who know what. They seem complex unorganized and clueless. The staff is not accommodating and service is not a priority here any longer. I think the all mighty dollar is the only concern, not the customers experience. To pay the over $200 a night for such mediocrity is just plain wasteful and ludicrous. The food by the way is overpriced as well for the quality one receives. Save your money people!

My wife and I planned a day and night in Columbia including a concert at Rose Music Hall. All we really needed from the hotel was a convenient location, a place to sleep, and the breakfast that was included. On the first two, easy enough, but they completely failed on the third and soured the entire experience.
Where to begin? Well I asked when we checked in if we needed to present anything and were told no, we'd be on a list. This morning we were not on the list but they told us they'd take care of it and seated us for breakfast. My wife ordered a cappuccino and I ordered a soda. That was the last pleasant interaction we would have.
Soon after the hostess and waitress came over together and hovered over us. They didn't introduce themselves but started asking accusatory questions like, "Are you sure you purchased this?" I tried to find the email but it was difficult while I was being interrogated. The professional thing at that moment would have been to walk away and give me some time. Then before I could find the email they just said, "Well you need to go talk to the hotel manager."
So I immediately got up to do that and the manager wasn't even at the desk! They went and found her and guess what? Yes we of course should have been on the list.
Was I apologized to? No, I was immediately told my wife's cappuccino wasn't covered by that and I should have read the fine print on the menu!
Then we order, and were treated like an inconvenience the entire rest of the time. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy and the biscuits came out hard and cold. She couldn't even eat them. Mine was ok but it's hard to mess up bacon and eggs.
The main thing was just the way we were treated all around, like we were scum! We had been up late but didn't look bad considering. But the entire time we were there we were treated like bad people who had done something wrong.
I've stayed in Hotels of varying quality around the world but I've never suffered this kind of embarrassing treatment! This needs to be responded to and fixed. Immediately.

Thank you James for your review. I am sorry to hear that you had a negative experience while dining in our restaurant. We will use your feedback to improve our service and delivery in the future. Our intent was not to make you feel like a criminal as you did have breakfast included in your rate. It just took the staff some extra steps to confirm that through the third party booking. Please reach out to me directly if you decide to stay with us again and I will make sure to take care of you during your next trip.

It is less than 1 mile away. It is a little bit of a walk but is doable.
It would be a long walk. Just checked Google Maps and it says 1.9 miles.
Yep - I agree with the other comments. Sorry for my tardiness - I am in Seattle this week.
This hotel is convenient to everything in the University area of Columbia. It has great rooms, with a great bar at the top and restaurant at the bottom. I highly recommend it. It has been quite a while since I stayed here, but, in the future, any time I come to or through Columbia, MO, this is where I will stay.
