Great place for a family vacation. Great food, fishing, location on the water, and plenty to do. The staff is excellent and the Shark Bite Bar and Grill was lots of fun and had a great DJ that played lots of music. Karaoke night was a blast!

Upon our arrival our electricity was not working. The grounds man took approximately 10 minutes to have it ready to go for us. We were very impressed in the quickness and motivation. We enjoyed the pool and boat dock! The music was fun to listen to. Only complaint we have is the grass could have been mowed.

If your idea of vacation in the Ozarks is impeccable rooms, a restaurant facility where you "dress" to dine and fastidious room service this certainly not the resort for you.
The carpets may be a little worn as is the furniture, but there is no fears of coming in dripping wet from the pool, smelly from fishing or worrying about the kids spilling their drink.
Clean towels and sheets are brought when ever you request in unlimited quantity. Any cooking pots and pans are also provided if you need something that isn't already supplied.
I was taken aback by some of the negative reviews. These are cabins folks not a 5 star rated hotel facing Central Park in New York City. I understand the resort is under new ownership and they are working on upgrading all the facilities. This was our second summer renting a cabin and I noticed many improvements had been made from the first year we stayed, especially in the restaurant.
The cost for our large group was very affordable. The pool was great for the younger children and there was a designated swimming area in the lake for the more experienced swimmers. Other entertainment was an arcade room, pool tables and music the evenings we were there for Shark Week. The fishing off the dock was fantastic!! We were also able to rent a pontoon and go Fly Boarding!!
Besides being a wonderful relaxing place to spend time with our family it became a place where we met and made many new friends. We look forward to seeing many of them again, because like us, they plan on returning for Shark Week in 2016. Bill and Christine Sackett

Ok. Im gonna start with the good here. The pool was nice. Kids loved it. Plenty of boat docks too. We all loved the swim dock. Spent a lot of time out there swimming and fishing. The swim beach was nice too. Very sandy and never felt any mud. Its on a very peaceful part of the lake. Felt like we had the lake to ourselves.
The bad. Our airconditioner did not hardly work when we got there on Sunday. After sleeping with the doors open 2 nights and the air eventually not working at all, I complained on Tuesday morning. The lady at the main office is very nice. She sent the maintanance man out. Long story short... after 3 times complaining that day, he finally changed it out around 5pm. I got myself a tiny window air conditioner for a 2 bedroom cabin. It took another day to finally cool the place down. I would have felt better if a discount was given. I paid $140/night. I got myself a little care package of stuff from the lady, which was nice... but money speaks volumes. She also offered me a fan. I felt amazing as we sat there in 95degree weather and no air. However it was FILTHY.
The dishes were also dirty. I grabbed several utensils and had to flick old crusted food off from the previous people. So i washed everything before i would use it. In fact, I went out and bought disposable dishes/utenils. The kitchen is not fully stocked at all. I had one littly tiny frying pan to feed the 6 of us. Literally 1 day i cooked 6 hamburgers, 1 at a time. They gave us 2 trashbags for our 4 day stay.
One night my daughter came and woke me up stating there was a big bug in the bathroom. I got up. It was the biggest cockroach Ive ever seen.
The couch was torn and we were scared to sit on it without a blanket over the top.
The cabin is all carpeted besides the bathroom. It is dirty looking with lots of stains.
The walls needed wiped down. Lots of smears on them. Even an old smashed bug in the bathroom.
We had a large reunion. Maybe 70 people there???? They did not mow the grounds. The grass was long and lots of weeds. We even had weeds growing up through our deck.
The shower was nice and clean. At some point they had removed a bathtub and the flooring and border is not finished in that area.
My son spilled some juice on a pillowcase so i removed the case. The pillow was so stained and nasty underneath!
My kids didn't care about all the above. They had the best week there. I did have a good time as well, but the cabin really was gross. I will not stay in one again.

The entire place was dirty, run-down, shabby, ill-maintained, not as advertised at all. The pictures on the web site were not the reality of the place as they were completely different from what was actually there.
The carpet was filthy and should have been replaced with tile or hardwood as it was way too dirty to clean.
It was as if the accommodations were not cleaned between uses. Towels were skimpy and thin. The kitchen items were not clean. The kitchen was not as advertised: dishwasher and refrigerator were unusable.
The carpet was wet from earlier rain that had come in under the door to soak the carpet, and it smelled like mildew.
Pretty bad and disappointing overall.

We are truly sorry that you left unhappy. We did try to address your concerns by giving you a full refund, while the rest of your large family group chose to stay for the week in the same cabin you could not stay in. We know we are not able to please everyone, but we do want it known that we do try our best. Everything on our website is true and up to date and although you were disappointed with a full refund we did try to accommodate you in every way that we could.

Rooms we had should not have been rented at all. FILTHY, holes in the floor, mold/mildew odor, missing blinds....I could go on but you get the drift. Complete misrepresentation. Very disappointing and quite a hassle to find another place. Not much lake access. Honestly, these rooms were terrible and I am NOT a prima donna!!

I’ll start with the good.
Docks and boat ramp were nice, as well as them having fuel! There was a small swim beach with dock as well. There is a bar and grill on site, and the food was good, particularly the pizza! They also have a small sand volleyball court. The other nice feature is the private cove this “resort” is on. This part of the lake is also much more relaxed. They also apparently host a fishing tournament every year in the cove and bring fish in and dump in the cove. Luckily the point of our get away was to spend time on the water, so we didn't spend much time in the cabin.

When we arrived, we had to check in by going to the bar, apparently the office has limited hours.
The “resort” seems to be a mix of campers, camping lots, permanent campers, rental cabins and other structures. It seemed as if many of the people we came into contact with lived on the property and worked there.
The swimming pool was very cloudy and our kids would not get in it, as you couldn’t see the bottom of the pool for how cloudy it was.
The first cabin we were in the first night was not in good shape. (see pics) It was overgrown with vegetation, and there was a burnt/wrecked car outside our deck with rotten food and bugs in it. The owner claimed the next day he was unable to move it per the fire marshal and it had been there for weeks. In my mind this means you don’t rent the unit, because who would want to pay to stay in that cabin? It was awful! On top of this the unit below ours, had a permanent resident who also worked on the property, she also had a dog that she kept inside that liked to bark when she wasn’t there.
First thing the next morning we started calling around looking for other options for places to stay that had a dock for our boat Luckily the next morning we spoke with the owner, who moved us to another cabin that he would have cleaned for us. He needed 3-4 hours however to get it cleaned. We accepted and he comp’d our first night’s stay.
The 2nd cabin was better than the first (after all there wasn’t a burnt car with rotten food outside it) but still not what we had in mind. Luckily we had brought sheets which we placed over all the furniture. The air conditioner in this unit leaked water in the floor.

As of August this property was for sale. Hopefully someone will buy the property and give it the love and attention it needs as I think it has potential for the right owner.

We were told when making our reservations our 40ft 5th wheel would have "no issues at all" fitting in their campground. That was totally untrue. The pullthru site we originally were going to get, in no way could have fit our rv. We had to go to a back in on a hill, which we barely fit in. The only reason we did not leave is because it was Memorial day weekend, no other places had vacancies and we had already paid. The grass hadn't been mowed and there was poison ivy all over the hook up. There was no view of the lake at all from any of the campsites it seemed, only from the cabins in front. Our view was of the back of the cabins and mobile homes. Not to mention the road to get there was AWFUL! (I know that is not their fault, just forewarning anyone). I didn't go into any buildings but the people we camped with said they were nasty and unkept. The people were very nice at least, and our neighbors were very friendly. I just wish they weren't so misleading with us from the beginning. We will not be returning to this "resort".

The place is in bad shape. The restaurant is dirty. Avoid if you have not received vaccinations. Photo of pool is misleading, not a spec of trash on the ground in photo, but that's not reality. Restaurant rest room, it smelled as covered in urine and it could never have the possibility of being clean. Don't order the Chili Nachos, because there is no chili. Sorry that's a little strong. There was very little chili, cheese, and covered in lettuce to hide the other two facts. Table in restaurant was sticky and don't pick up any of the beverage list in plastic holders. There was actually a sticky substance on the plastic holder that dust and dirt was sticking to. They had one waitress for there noon Sunday crowd, any request for further service was out of the question. She was the best in such a poor environment. I like to mention more about the other amenities, but can not because we only stop by to eat. If the restaurant is a reflection of the establishment's amenities, avoid.

We are truly sorry you didn't enjoy your visit to our bar & grill. We just wanted to note that we do try our best and to try to remember that you came in the day after July 4th. We had 4 staff members on in our front of house and tried to get it clean as possible after a night of fireworks, bands, and a full bar. Sorry for your experience, we will try to get things picked up quicker next time.
