First I will start with the positive. The staff is amazing and very attentive. I was warmly greeted by the front of house team and everyone has a smile. The downside of the hotel is the price point for the quality received. Being a Ritz the expectations are a little higher and the hotel is showing signs of its age. If this were a Marriott at a lower price point the review and expectations would be different.
I was on the 9th floor. The view faced the highway, but it was perfectly quiet. The room was beautiful…great furnishing, luxurious bedding, spacious bathroom. The hotel is ideal for conferences…many spacious ballrooms, meeting rooms, beautiful lobby with ample seating. Staff was extremely helpful, responsive, and polite. Some of the big ballrooms are showing some wear and tear, but overwhelmingly a really great hotel.
Spent a weekend at the Ritz Carlton St Louis for a wedding. For the most part the stay was fine. What wasn’t fine and totally opposite of what I have come to expect of the RC experience, was a situation where an employee from the security detail went to my room after I left the hotel, retrieved a ring I had inadvertently left, and rather than sending it on to me as was communicated and confirmed by the hotel on multiple occasions, the ring vanished. I’ve had no joy from the hotel, no satisfaction from Marriott Claims ( the parent co). And an absolutely atrocious experience dealing with them both. Despite them both acknowledging the matter and the situation, they routinely ignore me, are unresponsive, and no one is willing to shepherd this to a satisfactory conclusion. …. Replace the ring. Disgusting.…
Gorgeous lobby, beautiful rooms, very clean. Nice bathrooms with separate toilet. Great lobby bar. Excellent club level amenities - superb hors d’oeuvres, great omelette station at breakfast, loads of wine by the glass, great view. All the staff we encountered were lovely - front desk, housekeeping, club lounge, wait staff in the lobby. Location is great - Clayton has lots of shops and restaurants and Wash U is very nearby. We had a really excellent stay (August 2022). My only criticism is that parking is $25/night, and the Italian restaurant on site is remarkably expensive.
Pretty property! Clayton is a nice neighborhood and very walkable, so it wasn't any trouble to travel without a car. Lively in the lobby with a live band on weekend nights, and really good sushi, too.
I had a horrible experience during my check in at this property. Poor unfriendly assistant from the front desk/manager Josh Dickerson. I ended up not staying here and relocating to another property. I plan to follow with the property general manager, Amanda Dickerson regarding my horrible experience at this property.
We stayed here during a wedding, which was also in the garden balcony of the hotel. The place is beautiful. Is it expensive, yes, but we enjoyed our stay. We ate Sunday brunch in the restaurant, which was excellent.
Upon arrival we were able to access the club level for a very inexpensive fee. The club level stewards were friendly, accommodating and helpful. They made each guest feel as if we were old friends reacquainting after a long time apart. To celebrate our anniversary they offered us a bottle of champagne along with a single rose and a signed note from the staff. We refused the champagne since the lounge had many options for wines but we were very appreciative. The food offering in the Club level were substantial if this was not our first trip to St. Louis; I would have eaten all my meals in the Club level. Our Large suite was beautifully appointed with two Juliet balconies and 1.5 bathrooms. Coming from New York the cost of the suite was less than half the prices of booking the cheapest Room with no view at the Ritz New York so we were very happy.…
Stayed 5 days for a convention. Staff and services went above and beyond my expectations. The front desk staff, especially Cortez, was exceptionally welcoming. Room is comfy and has a nice vintage touch. Loved the balcony. The fitness center is airy, the best I've ever seen. I also enjoyed my time with my friends at The Casa Don Alfonso on the first floor. Loved the classy yet cute bar there. I enjoyed my stay.
I have been doing business in the St. Louis market for a few years now. I've been staying in various hotels in and around the area. Some were good and some were okay and here and there, there was a bad one. Once I found this hotel, I will never ever stay anywhere else in or around St. Louis. The hotel is clean, nice and elegant without being overly gaudy. There is a beautiful cigar lounge that would compare to many cigar lounges in New York City that is warm and comfortable and friendly. Since I found this hotel, I have actually been looking forward to taking these business trips to St. Louis. Great job and keep it up.
