The 7 Gables is under going an extensive renovation, so currently there are construction workers on site during weekdays, as well as a bit of a mess in the hallways and public spaces. When we went up to our room, we were shocked to find a shower curtain laying on the floor next to the bed and what looked like used towels on the bath floor. Upon looking at the situation, Kayla the manager upgraded us to a king suite and personally delivered new keys to the new room. This room had been so newly renovated, the ceiling light fixtures were not installed and there was no outlet for what looked like a future coffee maker. But the room was nicely done with newly installed Toto Washlet toilets in the bath (I want one of those now!). Kayla also had given us two drink tickets for the bar and Judy the bartender was especially nice to us, as she was aware of our situation upon checking in. Really, everyone was exceptionally helpful and nice during our stay. We had stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago during cold weather and thought it would be nice to sit outside in the courtyard someday during nicer weather. We were able to do so on the evening we arrived, but when the workers were on site the next day, the courtyard was closed. But sitting out on the front covered patio was pleasant as well. I look forward to a return trip when the reconstruction is completed.

I have had the privilege of staying and dining at this quaint and pleasant hotel on several occasions. Our room was always very clean, neat and orderly. Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner the food and service has always been extremely good. If the chance comes again I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Some major communications issues during the remodel almost derailed our trip. After reading another review on here, I decided to call a few days in advance of our stay to confirm that our (PREPAID) reservation was still on the books. The confused person at the front desk could not find it and eventually told me that they didn't have a room for us. They said that I was supposed to be notified by Priceline about this and "relocated" to another hotel. I had received no communication from anyone (in fact, received another email from Priceline this morning telling me to get excited about my upcoming stay at the Seven Gables). Not sure who dropped the ball, but it was royally dropped. Just glad I saw that other review on here and checked before arriving at the hotel. Please call them to confirm that you will actually get the room that you booked and paid for, or prepare to be disappointed when you arrive with bags in hand.

First off my family and I were looking forward to staying here. We had heard lots of positives about Seven Gables. We called ahead to ask for a room accommodation and they did not have our reservation and we had already been charged for the room. After lots of waiting on hold the hotel discovered they had over booked their rooms and offered to have us stay at the Hampton Inn, which is not comparable to Seven Gables. This is all they offered us. Will not try this hotel again.

1.Hotel is being rehabbed and until it’s done I would stay away! 2.Room was on third floor - no elevator had to climb up 3 flights of step stairs with bags~ 3.Lobby dusty and dirty from the construction- desk manager did not offer to help even after I explained I had just undergone injections to reduce swelling in my back~ 4.Valet kindly offered to help while rest of staff just stood/sat there~ 5.Room not Ready at 3:00 P.M. even though we were assured it would be available at 2:00 P.M~ 6. More positive news valet helped maid finish getting the room ready, also the maid was kind enough to locate non-feather pillows even though she had to run up and down the stairs trying to locate the correct pillows~ 7.Returned from dinner around 10 P.M. only to be told the valet had left for the day and the front desk clerk suggested I park my car myself- I said I paid for valet service~ then a smart mouth lady said she could park it for me and planned on driving it around, I reluctantly gave my keys to the front desk clerk. 8. 7:55 A .M awoke to the sound of demolition, sawzills and hammers~ on a morning I was planing on sleeping in. 9.DUST WAS EVERYWHERE- YOU COULD SEE IT AND IT WAS IN THE AIR THAT BREATHED! NOT A PLEASANT STAY~
