Take a step back into the 1940s. This place is amazing beautiful charming and very kitschy. Too much fun. Don't miss the opportunity to experience travel as it was 75 years ago. One complaint was uncomfortable beds but that's probably the way they were in 1946

We are so sorry you found the bed uncomfortable. We wish you had let us know, we might have been able to find a harder / softer bed in a different room. It makes us very sad when we discover that a guest was not completely happy. We assure you that ALL of our beds are new, not 1940s vintage.... More

My room was clean, comfortable and came with a great 1940s style radio and beautiful black and white photographs of Route 66. A must stop for all Route 66 and enthusiasts 😃 A wonderful restoration of roadside history!! I will look forward to another visit.

We search out unique lodgings run by local people who care. By that standard, Boots Court can't be beat. From the outside it looks like a vestige of Route 66 glory days that somehow miraculously survived. Step into the small office, with the Zenith console TV with porthole-shaped screen and 1930's-style table phone and you realize you've entered a world... More

From the history lesson at check in, through the entire stay (sadly only one night) was going back in time. It may not be the high times, cushy room, but our trip over Route 66 is about the traveling in the past. This place is da BOMB!!! Well worth the price for the experience and good night sleep listening to... More

I cannot say enough about this little motel. I called ahead about an hour before we arrived to check that rooms were available, but that was unnecessary. We were 2 of about 6 travelers staying there. It should be more. The grounds have been beautifully restored, the rooms are air conditioned and comfortable. The lady at the front desk has... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with other travelers. We are always grateful for each and every guest who cares enough to write . We want our guests to feel like they stayed with friends... REALLY SHORT friends, maybe.. (haha). We sympathize about the shower and try to view it as "educational". More

Traveling Route 66, we try to at least see all the icons along the way, the Boots Court being one of those. We expected to snap a few photos and move on down the road as it was only around 5pm. Not realizing the establishment was actually operating, and finding the office open, we went in to peek, were greeted... More

We stayed here in November of 2015, and it was charming. The rooms are restored to the 1940s....no TV or phones, but a radio in every room! :D It was extremely clean and the attention to detail is amazing. Very friendly staff. Since we have been there, they have restored the neon on the building, and I can't wait to... More

My friend and I were driving from Illinois to California on Rt.66. We didn't have reservations but we're lucky enough to get a room. It was next door to Clark Gables. The motor court in being restored to original. Not all the rooms are complete but you can tell it's a labor of love. There are no tv s but... More

This place was awesome. We are doing route 66 and we try to book rooms in all the "famous" motels. Boots was a nice surprise because of all the love the owners put in there. The repairs, eye for detail, the neon sign, choice of furniture... it is like taking a time capsule. Reception was perfect. We got told lots... More

We booked one night, and were forced to spend another due to storms in OK. The hotel was great, on a Route 66 trip, a must. The best was Debbie, who not only checked us in, but went over and above. A wealth of visitor information. Gave us great suggestions of places to visit, that gave us unforgettable memories!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Boots Motel is an iconic historic motel on Route 66, at the junction of historic U.S. Route 66 and U.S. Route 71. It features two buildings, one built in 1939 and one in 1946, in the Streamlined Moderne style. Neglected for years, it is currently being restored to its 1949 appearance. Five rooms in the 1946 building are now completed and ready for occupancy. They feature spacious rooms with the original hardwood floors and built-in vanity dressing tables, and ceramic tile bathrooms with shower stalls They are individually decorated and furnished with period furnishings such as chenille bedspreads and 1940s-style furniture. Some still have the original round mirrors installed over the dressing tables. There are no televisions since television was not available in the Carthage area until the mid-1950s, but, as originally advertised, there is "a radio in every room," and the motel does offer free WiFi. Each room is individually heated and air conditioned, just as advertised in the 1940s. Experience a time when room service delivered your ice to your room and your room key was a real key that fit into an actual lock! We also have 5 double-carports to protect guest's vehicles from weather. Welcome back to the 1940s at the Boots Court! ... more   less
