We stayed at this location for a week this month and it was by far not what we remembered from previously staying. The bed was comfortable, but the room itself was a mess. We noticed right off the bat as soon as we opened the door to the room, the musty smell about knocked us over. There was hair in the bathtub, a few layers of dust had accumulated on the back of the toilet, the vent cover in the room was rusty and discolored. When we turned the tv on, we couldn't get anything at all, after a call to the front desk, a maintance man came up right away and fixed it for us. We booked here because of the wonderful breakfast buffet, it was no more though, a boxed breakfast was handed out each morning. Needless to say, we ate breakfast out each morning. I had called a few weeks ago to confirm our reservation and was assured the buffet would be going, and the pool/hot tub was open. The pool was open, a huge hole in the ceiling in one corner though, no clean, dry towels though to use after a swim. I'm sure we won't be staying here in the future, we were so disappointed.

Could have given 5 stars except no hot breakfast. Other hotels in town were offering that so I have to penalize them the 1 star. They do offer a boxed breakfast that didn't thrill me. Staff were helpful, courteous and service was quick. I had problems with the terrain the hotel was on (a steep hill) however the valet parking was always available when needed even late at night. Coffee was delicious which is important. The tub had a jacuzzi that was out of order. A repairman came quickly to repair the drain, which was great since I wanted a tub bath.

This was our 4 th time to stay here in as many months. Always loved their breakfast and looked forward to it. On the morning of October 27 we got into the elevator to go to breakfast and a note was posted stating due to staff issues there wasn’t breakfast. Asked at the front desk and was told “the person” that does breakfast was out with the flu. And gave us $10.00 credit. However $10,00 will not feed my husband and I, much less a family of three or more that was getting the same $10.00 credit. Next morning I called the front desk and ask if there was breakfast and was told yes. Went to get breakfast and there was absolutely nothing left. It appeared that they sit out breakfast for the first go around and once it was gone it was gone and the rest of us just stood around with nothing left to eat. Again after some discussion with the front desk advising me that they didn’t know if we will give a credit for this morning or not because They could not get a hold of the manager to give them the OK to do so. Went back to our room and started packing to leave, and front desk called and did tell me they would give us a $10 credit again. Was handled ok I guess. Just disappointed with a hotel that accommodates over 100 guest that they couldn’t provide at least a continental breakfast.

We just spent four nights in the Grand Plaza. It is probably one of the cleanest hotels we have ever been in! We initially booked two nights and extended our stay two additional nights before returning home. Every employee we encountered had smiles on their faces and were very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was the best complimentary breakfast we have ever seen or tasted. The variety was awesome and the hot prepared foods were delicious! We loved the convenience of having the shampoo/conditioner and body wash in a shower caddy and available for use IN the shower. They also had liquid hand soap (versus the messy bar soap) which was really nice. When in Branson, we’ll definitely try to stay in the Grand Plaza.

If you really can't afford the Hilton or any other hotel, your stay here won't be revolting. However, if you can - this hotel should be avoided. The interior (both lobby and rooms) are extremely dated and smelly, frankly. The majority of the parking is down a steep incline. No bars of soap on the premises - only pump bottles in the bathrooms and showers. While the rooms are generally spacious and the beds are large, they are not clean. I am grateful I found the massive red stain on my comforter while I was packing to leave. I had to pick hairs off of a lot of surfaces and the televisions are small. My shower curtain was ripped at the seams. No complimentary breakfast because of COVID-19, you are handed a box of snacks instead. Don't even attempt to turn on your AC in the room, the whole room will smell very foul. The cons far outweigh the pros. At least the staff was nice but if you really want to have peace of mind about the establishment you're staying in, go to the Hilton or something.

I was totally impressed with the entire staff and the quality of this hotel. It was like going back in time to elegant hotels. The lobby was spacious, the rooms very clean and well appointed. TV stations included Fox News an Fox Business so you won't miss Lou Dobbs.....
Breakfast is in the dinning room on the 9th floor. The menu was varied and more than enough that you won't leave hungry. The view out the windows is magnificent.
I would recommend this hotel highly

Like another review said, unless you are able to squeeze in one of the few compact parking spaces behind the hotel you will have a really good workout climbing up the long hill to the lobby.
The hotel was nice except for people on the 8th floor. The breakfast are and the bar are above you on 9th floor. Loud party people until 11:30pm. That is ok but they start setting up the breakfast area at 4am. Loud banging, talking and carts rolling on the tile floor. I gave up sleep at 5:30am and asked the desk clerk “what time do they start setting up the dining room?” He shrugged and said “4 I guess” then turned around and walked in the back room. The facility is nice inside but I came here to sleep at night.

My bad luck, but I felt that the clerk couldn’t have cared less and didn’t want to know why I asked. He just ignored me and left.

First impression: smelled musty, dirty, and was dark. The first room I had was a Junior King Suite with a worn out loveseat. The faucet in the bathroom would not stop dripping. At about 12am (got back late from a show and food) I went to use the shower and it would not turn on. We tried to call the front desk, but the phone didn’t work. My husband went down and asked about what they could do just to get it in record that we had an issue. The clerk offered us to change rooms or get a refund after talking to manager. It was late and we were unpacked and ready for sleep, so we stayed in the room for the night. That was a mistake because the bed was very uncomfortable and we could feel the springs of the mattress and we both woke up sore (side sleepers). The next day we changed rooms and when we asked about some sort of partial refund, the lady clerk stated that we were offered to move to a new room. My husband asked if she would have moved at 12:30am, and her answer was : no.

We changed rooms to 2 queen beds even though we had paid for a King and we were not offered a lower rate for the night. We thought the queen beds would not sag as much. They seemed a bit better. There was a hazard in the one bed in that some nailed frame piece was sticking out as a shin buster and the plug locations were behind the beds. This room had a shower/tub that leaked and also was not a suite. The carpeting throughout the hotel seemed old. The air units were dirty and clogged along with the hairdryers were clogged up. The lock on door was cracked and door knob was worn and the door was difficult to close. The mirrored closet door did not sit flush.

The breakfast was decent and the lady working up there was super friendly. The guys in the kitchen had Mexican rap music playing, but when asked to turn down they did. They had a nice view out the downhill side of hotel. I did get a full cup of coffee grounds. It is conveniently located near the shows.

I would turn and run far away from this property. Stayed here based on other good reviews, but I’d stick with higher end name brands in this town. Don’t believe the other reviews on here. I have travelled extensively worldwide, and this is one of the worst properties I have stayed in.

We had stayed here before and was pleased. This time we used Hotwire. Got a great deal but the hotel not only charged the incidental charge but a room lodging charge of 58 dollars. I requested a handicap bathroom and they said no because I paid on a third party site. The time before they gave me a handicapped bathroom. The beds are more like full than queens. The lady on the phone today was rude about the charge.

The hot tub is always overcrowded and people stay in there for hours. Pool is too cold and had fungus floating on top. Very disappointed.

This is not a high end hotel, but it's excellent for perhaps 1) satisfying all your hotel requirements at 2) a low end price. It's an old and large hotel, but well maintained and currently being renovated. The Hilton downtown is high end for Branson, but you'll pay over twice as much.
As first time visitors to Branson with a car planning a few nights stay we wanted a hotel in a location central to all the shows and attractions.
There's no restaurant, but coffee was always available in the lobby (second floor). The fitness center is minimal, but the pool/jacuzzi is open until midnight.
