I have been all over the country the last three years in a row exploring various college campuses with my kids. Each time I have chosen the hotel on campus for the convenience of it. We arrived just after 11:00 am after traveling from the University of Alabama to visit my son who is in his first year there. For reference, we live in the Northeast so it was not as if our trip started in Alabama. We had to arrive to campus a bit ahead of 12:30 because my youngest was there for the Dance Team Clinic. When we went to check-in, and I realize it was ahead of check-in, I was told the room was ready but that if I wanted to get into the room early, I would have to pay an additional fee. She needed to finish getting herself ready after our nearly 3 hour ride from Alabama so I obliged. Upon entering the suite style room, it is spacious and would be fine, if it were actually clean. I am the type of traveler who brings Lysol wipes to wipe down frequently touched surfaces. I noticed that there was some hair on the base of both toilets and was a bit grossed out however, at the moment, I she had to finish preparing and I had to get her to the venue which was within walking distance. While she was there I passed the time walking around the campus. When she was finished we went back to the room. It was now time for a shower. I was looking at the tile of the shower and thought, "is that dirt or part of the tile pattern"? It was hard to discern until I got my wipes and cleaned the wall. What was left on the wipes was disgusting! I have pictures. It was gross and yes, I did share with the front desk. I am abstaining from sharing them because the Inn, for now, has done the right thing. Unfortunately, we gathered up our belongings and had to check-in at another hotel. I could not stay there in those conditions as I would have never slept wondering what else had not been adequately cleaned. It's really too bad since if you are looking for a quaint college campus, Ole Miss would be it. However, The Inn is not the place for us. Management should be looking into the cleaning of each of these rooms. It's easy enough to do walk throughs before allowing guests to enter a space which is not clean.…
I agree with the previous reviews about the basic room. We arrived really late and the basic room was BAD! The water would run in the bathroom and the air conditioner was like a freight train. I did not sleep the entire night, went to the lobby around 3 am and the next morning we were moved into a suite. This room was gorgeous! They really have an excellent location and if they upgraded the normal rooms a little, this place would be amazing. The staff was super nice.
Just yuck. It’s an old ratty motel. They fool you with a nice lobby. Was recommended for convenience to school but not worth it. Rooms are disgusting. Smell musty, feel dirty. Would not stay again. In fact not staying the second night. Going to switch hotels. Tiny bathroom with pedestal sink.
Location of hotel was great. Room, however; was not. Booked through Trivago. When I got to the hotel, I had no room. Showed them my confirmation so they found me a room. The room smelled like mold, the bathroom floor stayed wet the entire two days I was there. You really had to think not to blow dry your hair in bathroom or you might get electrocuted. Upon arrival in my room, there was absolutely no toilet paper. I think they must have just shoved me somewhere. Super old air conditioning unit. Bathroom was so small; absolutely no counter space (just a single sink). Also, half painted. Trim around mirror and lights, etc were not painted. Blinds in window were very old and sagged. I thought there was mold on the wall on the outside of the bathroom, but it was dust that had collected. No room for you to open and store a suitcase on the floor. If I stay there again, I will definitely make sure what kind of room I have before I stay. I think it could be a great hotel, but my room definitely was not!…
The pictures speak for themselves. The property is well situated on campus but there are so many cleaner hotels within a mile. Bathroom was gross. Dirt or mold everywhere. Entry hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Furniture in room scratched etc. This property isnt run like a hotel more like a dorm. No updates since 2008? You will hear every noise from your next door rooms. The doors slam so everyone can hear it. Just a real disappointment. Barely a Motel 6. There are plenty of clean hotels within a mile of campus.
I knew it wasn’t going to be the Four Seaons. It’s an on campus hotel. Great location. But when the bathroom has a brown watermark stain from years of dripping including upon my arrival, when there is dirt/mold all over the bathtub you just have to ask yourself why haven’t they repaired it? There is simply no excuse to pay $168 a night for a room screaming to be updated. It’s basic repairs—recaulk the bathtub! Can’t recommend the place there are plenty of hotels within a mile. Very disappointing.
This was a fantastic spot on the campus of Ole Miss. easily walk to football, baseball, union, the grove. Filled with charm and the staff was VERY friendly. Highly recommend if you can get a reservation. The rooms are basic and restaurant didn’t stay open late but the overall stay and convenience was a very good experience.
Went for a family wedding with my wife. The king sweet was fantastic and hAd two bathrooms. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was also fantastic and relaxing. The staff was very helpful and was ready to help with any questions. The hotel has a small store to buy items you may need for your stay. The hotel has a restaurant called McCormicks and it was great for breakfast, lunch and dinner which my family and I used almost everyday. The bar and staff was great as well!
This place is a DUMP. I would rather stay at a homeless shelter than spend another night here. It looks like they hired a bunch of drunk college kids to paint this room back in the summer of 1992. The carpet has housed no less than 7 dead bodies and best of luck on hot water. You better off standing in a rain storm with a bottle of shampoo!
My daughter and I stayed here for a recent Ole Miss Soccer ID camp. I was expecting a standard room and was pleasantly surprised by the Suite setup. There were two separate bathroom vanities and two toilets which was nice. The staff was very friendly. There is also an on-site restaurant available but access to several restaurants with short drive is nice too! The gym is also very nice and spacious.
