Haven't been to the Pearl River Resort in about 15-20 years. We had a room for two nights (during the week) at Golden Moon. Our room was OK. No view to speak of (the roof) but ok. The bed was pretty comfortable (not so much the pillows) and the A/C worked good (thank God since it was 98+ outside). The room itself was dark. My bedside lamp only had one working bulb instead of two. The bathroom was also dark. The toilet ran constantly but thankfully it was not heard in the bedroom. The bathtub had no plug but I went in to Philadelphia MS Walmart to get one so it then worked. No mini fridge but I *think* maybe if we asked we could get one? Not sure if it would be free or if we'd have to pay. I guess since Covid housekeeping doesn't come in the room but is supposed to give you what you need. The housekeeper was cleaning the room next to ours so I stepped out in the hallway and politely asked her for a bar of soap and a roll of toilet paper. She gave it to me and I said, "Thanks, didn't mean to bother you" and she didn't say either 'no bother' or "no problem' or "You're Welcome"? Not a big deal I guess but how hard is it to say those words?

Stayed here on my way to Batron Rouge la. Stayed 2 nights. Room was large and clean. Maid service was not available each nigh you had to ask for clean towels and soap,shampoo. TV, iron, iron board, safe. Casino was pretty empty. Coffee and pastries were delicious. I did not eat in the Hotel.

I was a guest at Golden Moon Hotel on Monday, December 4, 2023. While my room was nice the customer service I received was less than acceptable and made my experience at the establishment unpleasant. I called the front desk several times to advise that my shower was not working. I was finally able to speak with someone after the third phone call and more than eight rings. The person who answered the phone was unfriendly, if not rude. I advised that the water was working but the shower would not come one. She said she would get someone up there but they were all on break. I asked how long would that take because it was already 8:20 she said about an hour. They NEVER came.
At checkout I advised the front desk of the non-working shower and they lady never looked up from the computer, never once smiled and never greeted me. Needless to say I hope our next business meeting is NOT at this hotel.

We stayed at Golden Moon casino for the NAYO tournament for the weekend. Plenty of parking around the Casino including valet parking. The registration staff was hospitable including the staff throughout the casino floors and restaurants. The casino is clean and the gaming floor isn’t overwhelming like some and was easy to navigate and it’s non smoking on the floor, has plenty of machines and card tables. Inside the Golden Moon is a small store for drinks for chips, candy and merchandise; a coffee and sweets shop, bar area, golf shop, small clothing boutique, large convention room, a pool (covered and uncovered) and plenty of great restaurants within the casino (service is usually slow).
Our room was large, beds comfy and pillows fluffy, large spacious bathroom with a tub and nice size shower, room doesn’t have microwave or mini fridge would be nice to have microwaves on the floors near vending area to heat up leftovers (my opinion). Overall a great stay.

Horrible place to come to. The restaurant’s down stairs didn’t have any service. Waited for 30 min at one restaurant with no help and then went to another restaurant in the casino and got the same results. No microwave in the room or mini fridge. The econo lodge offers more than this casino. We was told Housekeeping only came every three days but they never cleaned our room at all. Repeatedly called for towels and linens. Horrible experience and sorry place to be called a casino. We stayed 5 days total.

The food here is good; the service not so good. We just watched a couple at the next table wait a long time to get their food. Then we’ll after their food was cold (at least 20 minutes) they finally got the waitress attention, then maybe another five minutes got tableware. The waitstaff has no sense of urgency. They don’t seem to understand the that food should be served while it’s hot. Again why rush. Then when you finish and can find your waitress, you get to wait a while longer while they get around to bringing the bill. Again, no rush. Again the food is ok, maybe even a little cold. My wife left a tip against my wishes. If you want to attend the casino in Philadelphia MS, you just have to accept inefficient service

I gave two stars because the hotel had hot water, and the towels, though very small, were clean and replaced upon request. I know Covid has caused a lot of problems for the hotel industry, but this lack of cleanliness is totally unacceptable. There were several couples in our group, and on one floor, the rooms were fine. However, that was not true of most of our rooms. In one room, the garbage had not been emptied from the previous guests. In most of our rooms, the baseboards and around the edges of the carpet looked as if they had not been cleaned in over a year. The bathroom floor in our room had a small area of something clear hardened on the tile with a small piece of paper stuck to the floor. The toilet paper dispenser was caked with dust as well. There was a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, but it was not usable because it was attached to a dark wall away from any light source. I wanted to ask for cleaning supplies to clean our room, but we just made out best as we could. At least the linens were clean.

We were here on a golf package which the front desk continually messed up, charging us a higher rate. Had to get the supervisor more than once to straighten it out. The rooms are tired and really need to be refurbished. Thin towels, etc. The casino was definitely a disappointment. The tables all required high $ bets and very few were open...I know it was because of COVID, but there was not even an attempt to have something available for people to play. Cocktail service was very spotty and food opportunities poor. We did have decent pastries for breakfast. If it wasn't for the great golf we would have left early.

The place is nice, but the people aren’t. Not worth the money. EVERY employee- front desk, maids, coffee shop workers, gift store workers- was straight up rude. They obviously didn’t want to be there. Whoever is the manager or owner, needs to grow a pair and put their foot down. Straight up ridiculous. No wonder the casino was slow as he** during the busiest week of the year (the Neshoba County Fair). My family will never be back and I hope you save your family the trouble.

We met some friends to go to the Kool and the Gang concert. First we had to wait for over 30 minutes to be seated at STATS, their sports bar, evidently because they had one large party that had to be seated which took them forever to get the tables prepared. Once we sat down, it was over 20 minutes before our food came out hodge podge in bits and pieces. One of our party ordered a simple hamburger and fries and didn’t get his food until everyone else at the table was nearly finished.
There is no non-gaming entertainment after 1 o’clock. The bands used to play until 2.
The worst foul however was the attitude of the security staff at the concert. My wife was dressed in a little slinky black dress… more appropriately dressed for a concert and night out than the greater portion of the audience who were dressed in sweatshirts or whatever street apparel they wore to work that day. My wife had on black high heels… one of which completely fell apart with the sole completely tearing loose. They were 6 inch heels which are tough enough to walk in anyway. So… she took them off. We left the concert early and were heading back to our room to get her another pair of shoes. The security staff were extremely rude and showed zero compassion for her stating that she COULD NOT go on the gaming floor without shoes. I told them of our conundrum and said there was no way that she could possibly wear these broken shoes. They remained adamant saying “well she’ll just have to tip toe around wearing them!” I was livid. They completely did not give a care about our conundrum. I finally told them that I didnt give a care what they did that I would carry her if I had to which I did as the rudest of their numbers followed us all the way to the elevators to ensure that I did not put her down. It was completely rude and absolutely uncalled for. They don’t have to worry about our bare feet on their damn carpet as we will not be back any time soon. They need to teach their employees about having a little compassion.

Unsure… we don’t smoke and the casino was nearly empty, so I’m not sure about others.
I haven’t seen a place to dance. There are penny machines but they are a penny for each line that you play. You can play one line but that’s not as much of a chance to win. I think I got 10 dollars free play the first time. You can tell them when you reserve your room which place you want to stay at.

Smoking or nonsmoking? You will want to stay between floors 1-9 and ask for a mid level room. Those are the only floors with elevator access near the cashier cage. Main elevator will bring you out at the lower numbered rooms.
