this is supposed to be the premier hotel in Oxford, but there were dead cockroaches in the lobby (plural, at different times of the day), hairs left in the bathroom and tub--very clear it hadn't been vacuumed well in who knows how long. I was there when there was a town mask mandate and not a single worker was wearing a mask. When I got home I had to take a shower as I didn't think their shower had been scrubbed in ages. Mildew and splatter in every corner of the bathroom. UGH. Location and front desk were terrific (minus not wearing masks).

I was very disappointed our recent stay. Arrived for check in no bellman ,self park under the hotel, tight spaces. Room was nice but AC did not work. Contacted front desk to check on it as we were going to a wedding. Got back late and room was 80 degrees. Looks like someone just came in and turned down the thermostats. Had to change rooms at midnight but no one was at the desk. Someone finally came and changed us to another room. No amenities! No restaurant, no bar, no staff, and they charged $100 deposit for amenities that didn’t exist. 3- 5 days to credit back to card? Good location but for this trip that was about it. Travel to Oxford 4 or 5 times a year don’t think I’ll return to The Chancellors House. Sorry!

This is a perfect hotel for walking everywhere downtown. Downtown Oxford was a great stop on our wonderful summer road trip. The property and rooms are gorgeous and the staff was excellent! Highly recommend.

We stayed at the chancellor’s house for a long weekend in Oxford. The hotel was very nice and the location just off of the town square was excellent. Everything you could want is within easy walking distance.the room was spacious and very comfortable with and amazing bathroom complete with large claw footed tub and huge shower. We would definitely stay here again!

Finding a comfortable place to stay overnight in Oxford, Mississippi, used to be hazard pay. We once stayed in a lodging near the University of Mississippi campus and needed an umbrella to avoid the rainwater that penetrated the ceiling. No umbrellas are needed at Chancellor's House. Located at 425 South Lamar Boulevard, at University and Lamar, steps from historic Oxford Square, it is a first-class hotel with 31 rooms, elegant decor, plush surroundings, an outstanding restaurant, bar and lounge, concierge, dry cleaning and laundry service, 24-hour front desk, valet parking and bellhop/porter service. We booked a 350-square-foot Junior Room with a king-sized bed, free wi-fi, flat screen TV, coffee-tea maker, room service, in-room safe and writing desk with chair. All the comforts of home while sight-seeing in what has been described as one of the finest small towns (population: 27,000) in America. Not to mention the home of one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country. It's a leisurely walk to the Oxford Square and the Ole Miss campus with all of its unique and picturesque and historical sites.
