We have been at this park for years. It used to be a great place. When the new manager took over the park has steadily gone downhill. She picks and choices who the rules apply to. Grass is out of control because the maintenance staff is understaffed. Manager is rude and has a supposed to be housekeeper that is constantly creating unnecessary drama. The manager needs a class in “hospitality”. Don’t waste your time and money here.
We stay at Yogi Bear campgrounds frequently because we love them. We are currently at the Memphis area one and I have never had a worse experience at a campground- and we are avid campers. I went to take a shower at the public showers and the woman’s one was closed. I went to the office to see when it would reopen and was told that it would be down all week. I then asked what I was suppose to do about showering and the man behind the desk told me that I wouldn’t be able to shower. I am booked all week- and he told me that I could not shower. He then started to yell at me that there were men at this campground that might want to shower and I couldn’t do it here. I then asked to get a refund of my campsite so I could go to a campground that has public showers and he told me no. I also asked why we weren’t told this when we checked in and he told me that it wasn’t his job to tell people that. A lady then offered to wait outside my shower while I showered so no men could come in. The man said that would not work either. Finally another lady told me that it would be ok. So I had to shower with someone standing guard outside. It was very embarrassing. I brought kids along camping that need to shower. I have never been more embarrassed in my life. A complete stranger was yelling at me and telling me not to shower. I am now stuck here all week with this terrible human monitoring my showers.…
Very nice campground. Our site was really nice with patio furniture and grassy site. There were three of us travelling in MH's and we had requested that we stay together but were not able to do so because we hadn't paid the $30 additional reservation fee for this particular request. At the time I made reservations, I was not made aware of this issue. Two of us were permitted to stay one site apart and our third member had to stay in a totally different location in campground. While there, the site between us was vacant the entire time except for one night. I believe this is very unfair to campers and is just a means to obtain additional monies unnecessarily from your campers. The campground and facilities were very nice and very clean, but I do feel like the $30 fee should be discontinued when requesting multiple reservations. The close proximity to airport was also a noise issue.…
why can't park owners understand that camping is about communing in nature & make sure that when people come to the park for quiet they get it. The motorcycle noise was madening - the people out walking & talking woke me up - people stay up socializing - barking dogs early in the morning......I guess some people think that everyone else likes their noise - won't be back
This campground is fabulous! The check in process was so easy and our paperwork was waiting for us. The campground is spotless and easy to get around even with the towed vehicle still attached. The lake was so peaceful to walk around after driving all day. I highly recommend this campground
We stayed here for a weekend in October and there were a lot of kid activities hosted by the campground. Most RVs were decorated for the Halloween contest and the kids costume parade was so much fun. We also enjoyed movie nights, cookie decorating, and a wagon ride. The bathrooms and laundry area in the park were spotless and so nice to use. Reasonable laundry rates and commercial grade machines. Helpful staff - we enjoyed our stay and will look for other Jellystone Parks to visit in the future! The Southaven, MS is no joke when it comes to heavy traffic in the area so be prepared for that. Also check out the Memphis Barbecue Company for dinner!
Stayed while 3 yr old daughter was being treated at St Jude. Staff was very helpful with reservation and subsequent schedule changes. On site staff with store and mailroom. Nice, clean quiet park close to shopping and resterants.
We loved our stay, wished we could have stayed longer! Enjoyed the Christmas decorations, the drive thru rv spots and full hookup! Our kids loved the fire pit and had fun roasting marshmallows at night.
The grounds are dutiful with lots of tall trees and beautiful flowers. Bath houses and laundry room are very modern and clean. Nice large pool, several blow up water slides, shuffle board, two dog parks, a large pond, Icees - I mean WOW, we loved our stay!
Lots of great things to do with the kids. Will be back soon. Loved the stay one night and get 2nd night free. Pool felt awesome. Loved the playgrounds and the premium sight. Want to stay longer next time.
