We stopped off in Gulfport driving from Tallahassee to Houston, I have a bad back and can not make the trip straight through right now. I saw The Guest House At Gulfport on trip advisor, it had excellent reviews and was in a prime location. I called and spoke with Jason and asked if they had a first floor room available he indicated they did, my new husband (we had just gotten married a few weeks before) had to get clarification from one of his business partners before we completed the reservation. Jason went ahead and reserved the room for us because they only have one first floor room, I was ready to give him a credit card, but he said no need just give it to me when you confirm, which was very nice. We got confirmation shortly after and I sent the information to Jason. When we arrived Ms Kathy was ready to show us around. The home is beautifully restored and decorated to fit the early 1900’s timeframe. Our room was quite large, big bathroom and had two doors to enter main house’s area. Kathy made sure we had everything we needed and gave me her number to call if we needed anything. My husband had to meet his business partners so we ordered dinner for me at The Oyster Half house and he went to pick it up, it was within walking distance. It was a very good meal. Although I was alone for a few hours, I felt very safe. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, I even asked where they got the pillows I think I will order a couple for Christmas. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful homemade grits, bacon, sausage, an egg tower and fruit, all made by Jason. Great job! Thoroghly enjoyed it. Ms Kathy and I bonded over cats, we both have and love cats. I was surprised when she had a toy for my baby cat for her to enjoy. She definitely did not have to do that, but Cami will have a ball with it. I have to say I almost exclusively book B&B’s while traveling or taking a vacation. From start to finish Jason and Kathy made us feel right at home and this is one of the best B&B experiences we have had. I’m sorry we only had one night to enjoy it. The bed, pillows and breakfast were all exceptional. We make the trip back and forth from Tallahassee to Houston a lot due to my husband’s job. We will definitely make The Guest House at Gulfport Landing a regular stop. One final note, they were CDC Covid compliant. In today’s world that is really important. If you are going to Gulfport, I highly recommend staying at The Guest House at Gulfport Landing. Beth and Steve…
We booked this beautiful home for one night for a quick birthday getaway. Jason was very helpful from the time we reserved our room. We were greeted by Kathy once we arrived. She gave us a tour of this beautiful home. We stayed in Audrey's Attic. The huge bathroom was stunning. I loved the way the home was decorated and looking at all the interesting things in our room and throughout the house. The bed was very comfortable. Very peaceful and quite, just what we needed. Breakfast was incredible, huge pancakes with sausage, bacon, and fruit.
There's not enough good things that I can say about this place. The management were very friendly and accommodating. For example, they allowed us to keep some items in their refrigerator and use the kitchen as needed. They remained very much available, but without hovering - it made for a very peaceful, quiet stay. The house has kept its sense of authenticity without compromising on comfort. It's well-situated and we were able to walk to the beach and into town for food. Parking felt secure and tucked away. Of particular importance to me, during this time, is the care they took with social-distancing and sanitizing. I never felt at risk.
Having never been to Gulfport, my best friend and I stayed here on the way to the beach. The house is incredibly beautiful. Jason was great to be in contact with ahead of the stay and Ms. Kathy gave us a great tour, told us some details and history and fixed us such a delicious breakfast. Thank you for making our stop wonderful!
This was a perfect overnight stay for us passing through the Gulf Coast. Every detail was taken care with these accommodations and Kathy was the perfect hostess. We know the work that goes into such lodging because we used to have three guest houses we rented out. We took care of every detail too--and because of our standards, we always hope to find the same in our travels. But such standards are rarely met. Here at The Guest House at Gulfport Landing, they exceeded our expectation! You are surrounded by comfort and class here.
