Detailed Reviews
After driving hours and hours through agricultural fields and industrial towns it was somewhat of a culture shock to walk into the beautiful lobby of this upscale but affordable downtown hotel.
The lobby is beautiful with artwork that celebrates the musical history of the area. The staff is courteous, professional and efficient- special accolades to David. The rooms are clean and spacious and comfortable and attractive. Very nice bath products and a robe! State of the art tech with the TV and integrated sound system. And the hotel is in the heart of a cute downtown with lots of shops, and a very nice rails to trails walk which at this time of year had a Christmas light display.
We were in Cleveland to visit family, there’s not a whole lot to do in the area, staying at the Cotton House Hotel made the trip so much more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise. Don’t stay anywhere else!

I was traveling with 3 friend and wife on motorcycles from Kansas City to New Orleans. I have traveled The Great River Road many times but never stayed here before. That will change from now on. This hotel exceeded my expectations.
We were checked in quickly by a wonderful staff member. Our room was well equipped with a comfortable bed and soft sheets. The bathroom was spotless.
The lobby was nice and bright and a good place to sit and have a drink with friends.
The manager let us park our motorcycles on a cement slab not far from the door was a bonus.

I was so excited to get to this little town and hotel in the middle of what looked like a little boutique shopping downtown area. On the plus side, the hotel room was spotless, the bed comfortable, the toilet is comfort height (not standard low) the bathroom shower huge, the area of the bathroom counter is more than generous, towels and thick quality. There was a Keurig maker in the room, ours was not working though. There is no mini-fridge, which would have been a very nice addition. For breakfast the lobby had coffee and a sparse selection of prepackaged muffins and granola bars. There is a bar/restaurant on the 5th floor and a meat market with an attached restaurant on the first floor, neither that serve a hot breakfast. We thought there may be a bunch of other places along Cotton Row for both food and shopping, but many storefronts are empty. We did eat dinner at the main floor restaurant and it was good.

We stayed here on a road trip through the state. The hotel did not seem as clean as it should during a pandemic. The employees were not wearing masks and the flooring in the common areas was dirty. Especially the hallway on our floor. The room itself was clean. The hotel is dog friendly but the fee is bit high and the walkway across from the hotel says no dogs. We did see people walk their dogs on it but we respected the sign. The hotel was practically empty but we weren't upgraded even with platinum status. The parking was directly behind the hotel and was a large lot. The location would be great when more facilities are open as it is in the little downtown by restaurants and shops.

Beautiful hotel reflecting both the local Southern heritage and charming boutique designs. The room and bathroom are spacious with a modern boutique design, but also cozy. More a full-service hotel having two onsite restaurants in the lobby and 5th floor lounge. Downstairs lobby restaurant menu changes weekly with chef created meals, whereas 5th floor restaurant offers a bar food menu, live music on occasion, and outside sitting with city views.
In my three stays there since August 2021, only one room on the 5th floor had a refrigerator. But unsure if came with the room or left from previous occupant's request for it. I ate and enjoyed my meals from both restaurants during all three stays. Rooms cleaning was by covid standards, but bathroom was stocked with sufficient towels for couple days and for my extended stays easily replaced from housekeeping in the hallway.
Nice gym with cardio and small weights equipment. Water and towels available during my use for all three stays.

Upon checking in received a handicap accessible room was promptly moved to another room 303. Room was poorly cleaned guest leftovers in fridge, dried urine on toilet lid, hair on sink, empty tobacco can on table. Now had to file a dispute with my bank to get my deposit back after 2 calls to hotel and careless response from the gentleman answering the phone. First 2 stays were great here but this 3rd stay we've decided probably not to return.

As a Marriott Tribute Portfolio brand, guests with certain Marriott Bonvoy elite level statuses are entitled to receive a breakfast in the restaurant. This is a guaranteed benefit that was resorted in January 2021 after being suspended because of the pandemic.
Besides cheating guests out of a guaranteed benefit, the hotel offers NO BREAKFAST OF ANY KIND to any guest even guests who want to pay for breakfast. Instead I was referred to the restaurant at a competing hotel. Really?

+1
We had a family wedding in a nearby town and stayed in the Cotton House. We were given an early check in with no problems . The room was wonderful with many unique touches such as a vintage phone , a recipe box ( instead of a booklet) of all the things you would need to know about the hotel and Cleveland, a chandelier, and music related pictures on the wall. The bathroom was sleek and modern . The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We ate breakfast in the small restaurant off the lobby. They had a limited menu but the food was very good! Every single employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. We asked for a late check out and again - no problem! The hotel is across the street from many cute shops. My only disappointment was the museums were all closed ( C-virus precaution )

Overall we enjoyed our stay here, but one or two issues meant I haven’t given it 5 stars.
Our room was a king suite on the second floor and it was massive with two rooms. The living room also had a table and chairs and kitchen area. The bed was also very comfortable.
However, I feel I should mention that this room, 203, is an accessible room (not required by us), and as a result the bathroom floor flooded when we used the shower! I ended up using several towels to dry the floor and left them like a dam for the second day….it worked!
Secondly, the living room had a Venetian blind which was only half way down, and as there was no cord to drop it further, we felt we had no privacy.
Finally, although the food in the main restaurant was okay, there didn’t seem to be anyone in charge, so the staff seemed to be doing their own thing. This was also an issue at breakfast, as no one seemed to be checking on the food situation, and as a result, this morning the fruit platter was empty, and we were told they didn’t have anymore! This should never happen in any hotel….surely it’s not too difficult to keep a stock of melons, strawberries, grapes etc. Eventually one of the chefs brought out some bananas and three oranges!
Apart from these issues I would still recommend the Cotton House for a visit, as it’s location is excellent and there is plenty of guest parking at the rear.

This was our favorite hotel on our highway 61 trip through Mississippi. Rooms are large and modern with high ceilings. The beds are comfortable and the towels towels luxurious. We only had dessert at the restaurant but the decor was unique and the menu looked good. Location is on a commercial street we enjoyed walking and there is a great coffee shop across the street.
