This place is a real gem for a fun and unusual experience. We stayed in the two story grain bin "D". There was plenty of room for a family of five. The place was so clean it surprised me because it had a run down shack feel. No bugs in spite of the fact that it was located by fields.... More

This location is great, and the shack we had was clean, small and well done overall. It is a bit pricey - I'm not sure I would stay again, but for a nice front porch, good beer and great music, it's worth the cost for the experience. The other people staying on the grounds were very friendly, and the staff... More

We were three guys staying for one night in a grain bin (D). Clean room, cool furnishings. Not much going on there on a Monday though, but we managed to catch a singer-songwriter in one of the bars. Clarksdale is close if you want to get food and drinks.

We knew about the concept, of course, but we were very disappointed. The room smelled of ... well p••• so it was absolutely no fun being there. Reception was careless. "Oh, so You are here, really?". Would never, ever, go again and I urge others to consider if it is worth it. I think not.

We loved this place so much we added a night to our stay. Shack Up Inn has a unique style coupled with great hospitality, it's the south, ya know, and, well you have to experience it. We stayed in Electric Blue and Claremont. Such fun personalities these shacks have. On a practical note....no bugs! Not one. My fear is to... More

There are already so many great reviews for this place, so I won't just repeat things. I will say a couple of things however: 1. Most of the shacks face east. Which is probably good from a heat perspective, but bad from a sunset perspective when you're sitting on the balcony of your shack. We stayed in Gunny, which is... More

Perfect if you want to really experience the blues. Eclectic collection of shacks with rustic accomodations. Maybe not for everyone, but it was fun for us. You are staying on what was Hopson Plantation where Pinetop Perkins worked in the fields. The commissary is now a bar -again vintage collection of stuff decorates the walls and ceilings. Live music is... More

Our granddaughter requested to go on a Blues Trail trip with her "Poppy" and myself. We researched the Shack Up Inn prior to making a reservation. But the reality of this quaint place cannot be fully revealed on a website. So funky and so much fun. Live blues in the bar, not far from Clarksdale so you can go get... More

Stayed in the Red Shack for a night on our road trip from Saint Louis to New Orleans. We'd researched so thought we knew what to expect but WOW, all we had anticipated and more. The Shack was clean, cool, comfortable and well equipped. The bar was friendly, with great beer, great food and superb live music. Guy even played... More

A magical place to stay for a few days. This is right on the outskirts of Clarksdale MS. There is always live music somewhere in town and more blues history in the general area than you could shake a stick at. Very different old looking sharecroppers buildings bought up to date with air conditioning, fridge, hot and cold water make... More
