Just back from 3 weeks and this was one of my two favorite resorts. I say resort because this is so much more than a lodge. Everything was perfect and this has to be one of the best resorts on the South Island. Make sure you let Murray book the activities for you. They are awesome!

This hotel is in a magnificent location and offers superb service and delicious food Not a traditional 5 star which ticks boxes but much more. The rooms are exceptional and the views can not be eaten looking out across the bay. Arriving by water taxi is an adventure. Probably not for people with mobility problems. Finally, we must say the...

We spent three nights at BOMC while traveling with another couple. The service was excellent, the food was "over the top". We cannot say enough about the excellent food, especially the dinners. When we first got there we felt that maybe this was too off the beaten track (only accessible by boat or helicopter), but we were wrong. Between kayaking,...

The location of BOMC is beautiful and we appreciate the environmental aspect of the lodge however we don't consider this to be a 5 star accommodation or warrant the room rates. We have stayed in 5 star luxury and after paying just under NZ$1000/night for our 2 brm apartment we were expecting a little more. Like several other reviews we...

Many thanks for the time you have taken review your stay. We are thrilled you enjoyed the environment, restaurant and service. Our chefs were especially pleased you with the pleasure you took from their extra special attention – eg making special bread for you to enjoy in your room and for, most of your party of four, the free room...

Despite the picturesque cove and quality built environment, the current state of affairs is much less than one expects for an advertised 5-star establishment. Owners seem to have lost the care & service factor. Throughout a 3 day stay, several things where amiss; no am or fm radio reception (missing aerial cables) on very antiquated CD Stereo in the living...

Majority of our feedback, however, comes from other sources and we take great pride in the extremely positive feedback we receive about our personalized and professional service offering. Pluses: Service, view, food, accommodation , friendliness. Minuses: Lack of bathtub, swimming pool looked dirty, hot tub looked frothy, only one sun umbrella at pool for 9 loungers, hopeless mobile phone signal, poor internet connection. Overall: Worth a two night stay as long as you can afford to be cut off with communications.

Stayed here for 3 nights and it is absolutely gorgeous, peaceful, and very well run by Murray and Elaine and a brilliant group of staff who support them. The views are simply stunning of the Queen Charlotte Sound and you wake in the morning to a delightful birdsong. The suites are well appointed with a great individual feeling as you...

What an idyllic setting! Elaine and Murray were great hosts. You must do Elaine's 'Peanut Slab' challenge and walk up to the view point with a panorama view of Queen Charlotte Sound stretching back to Picton! Also get the bean bags out and enjoy the afternoon sun on the quayside with a glass of Sauvignon Reserve! Food wonderful, and try...

Thank you for your review, we take great pleasure in getting to know our guests and try to add the personal touch where appropriate to your experience here with us. Scenic 30 minute boat trip to reach the resort, such a delight to approach the little slice of heaven from the sea. Met and welcomed by the resort team, luggage dealt with from the jetty straight to the rooms without any fuss or bother. All the lodges are built into the cliff face and are either single lodges or double...
