The Inn on Whitworth is located in Historic Downtown Brookhaven and offers the traveler a unique small town experience like nothing in Southwest Mississippi. We have seven spacious rooms all finely appointed with original artwork by Dr. Kim Sessums. We have four rooms with queen beds and three rooms with two double beds. The Inn on Whitworth is where Art & Architecture meet Southern Hospitality.

Stunning little boutique hotel filled with interesting art and all sorts of neat amenities not the least of which was a grand and delicious continental breakfast. Staff very professional and friendly. Frankly, one of the best places my wife and I have ever stayed.

Refreshing and unique small hotel. As the manager says, the first time you're guests, the second time you're family. Love the breakfast. Everything one could want & more. Nice break from the cookie cutter chain hotels. Loved being able to set our own key code for our room.

Room Tip: I read some reviews that said some rooms had noise from the train, but we didn't notice any.

Do yourself a favor and book a long weekend at the Inn. Full of southern grace and hospitality. Rooms and beautiful and clean. Snacks, drinks and a a delightful breakfest in the lobby. Many neat places to visit nearby or talk a walking tour....or just sit in the lobby and have a glass of wine and people watch. Cant wait to go back

The folks here are incredibly friendly. I was welcomed more than once, and got some delicious treats when I checked in. The room was clean, and I really liked the door codes instead of a key card. There's lots of art, and a central living room. Trains run across the street, and I finally got to do the quarter on the tracks thing. I hope to return on my dime one day.

After travelling through Panama City FL, through Samson Alabama, I finally arrived at Brookhaven Mississippi. I was met by the most warm and friendly welcome at ' The Inn on Whitworth' by Sally. The suite that I was shown to was the finest that I have experienced on my trip to America, complete with kitchen, sitting room and the comfiest bed - I only wish that I could have stayed longer. Breakfast was served in the lobby with everything that you could wish for. There is also a self service laundry for the guests to use which is a big plus. I will definitely stay at 'The Inn on Whitworth' on my next trip to Mississippi. This is what I call the 'real' America.

From the very first call to John to the last second of checkout, the service was the best my wife and I have ever experienced. This is no small feat as we have traveled to 20+ different countries and about 40 states. I was born and raised in Brookhaven and moved away in 1985. I vividly remember this building being an old department that was a bit too expensive for my family. The old department store is now an immaculate inn that has pleases the senses at every turn. John, Sallie, and others were honestly the most accommodating and friendly hosts I have ever encountered. I don't make many recommendation but if you are anywhere near Brookhaven and in need of a safe and clean place to rest, I encourage you to pay a visit to the Inn at Whitworth. Luxury without the price tag! This will be my new go-to place when I pay a visit back home. Wayne T. Cary, NC

This boutique hotel was such a pleasant surprise! We booked while traveling through Mississippi and were blown away by this place. Quaint small town with a wonderful pastry shop and dining options around the town square. The rooms are unique and luxurious. The innkeeper Sally showed us true Southern hospitality. The breakfast was exceptional with many healthy options as well as hearty options as well. We arrived after closing and were able to check ourselves in and help ourselves to snacks and drinks in the kitchen. We absolutely loved our short stay here!

The Inn on Whitworth is in the heart of downtown Brookhaven, which might not mean that much to some, but as a “Yankee” who lived in Manhattan for eight years, worked in the design industry and married a Brookhaven native, I’ve seen the town evolve from a small, provincial southern town into a charming, destination enclave. The Inn on Whitworth is a key element in the downtown area’s transformation. We stayed in the Suites (separate lofts around the corner from the main building) and were totally enamored with the MCM decor and the eclectic art. Breakfast in the main B&B is included and was self serve, but featured plenty of fresh fruit, baked goods and coffee. So excited to visit the “new” Brookhaven, and hope many others will stop in to experience its fantastic transformation!

Stayed here four nights in a Suite. The Inn is incredible. Comfortable, well appointed rooms, fantastic host, and a feeling you only get at home. I spend over 200 nights a year in hotels. This truly felt like my own loft and I we were beyond impressed. Not a lot of quality places to stay here when visiting family and now we will never stay anywhere else. Trust me, book this and feel the old world in. Charm in a trendy new building. Highly recommend staying here. I’m a little unusual in the fact I love trains. I slept in the front room as the tracks are outside the window and I got the feeling I used to get as a kid hearing the train. If you like it more quite the Suite has a back bedroom that’s much darker and very quite.
