Detailed Reviews
From the very first call to John to the last second of checkout, the service was the best my wife and I have ever experienced. This is no small feat as we have traveled to 20+ different countries and about 40 states. I was born and raised in Brookhaven and moved away in 1985. I vividly remember this building being an old department that was a bit too expensive for my family. The old department store is now an immaculate inn that has pleases the senses at every turn. John, Sallie, and others were honestly the most accommodating and friendly hosts I have ever encountered. I don't make many recommendation but if you are anywhere near Brookhaven and in need of a safe and clean place to rest, I encourage you to pay a visit to the Inn at Whitworth. Luxury without the price tag! This will be my new go-to place when I pay a visit back home.

The Inn on Whitworth is in the heart of downtown Brookhaven, which might not mean that much to some, but as a “Yankee” who lived in Manhattan for eight years, worked in the design industry and married a Brookhaven native, I’ve seen the town evolve from a small, provincial southern town into a charming, destination enclave. The Inn on Whitworth is a key element in the downtown area’s transformation. We stayed in the Suites (separate lofts around the corner from the main building) and were totally enamored with the MCM decor and the eclectic art. Breakfast in the main B&B is included and was self serve, but featured plenty of fresh fruit, baked goods and coffee. So excited to visit the “new” Brookhaven, and hope many others will stop in to experience its fantastic transformation!

After travelling through Panama City FL, through Samson Alabama, I finally arrived at Brookhaven Mississippi. I was met by the most warm and friendly welcome at ' The Inn on Whitworth' by Sally. The suite that I was shown to was the finest that I have experienced on my trip to America, complete with kitchen, sitting room and the comfiest bed - I only wish that I could have stayed longer. Breakfast was served in the lobby with everything that you could wish for. There is also a self service laundry for the guests to use which is a big plus. I will definitely stay at 'The Inn on Whitworth' on my next trip to Mississippi. This is what I call the 'real' America.

+1
This boutique hotel was such a pleasant surprise! We booked while traveling through Mississippi and were blown away by this place. Quaint small town with a wonderful pastry shop and dining options around the town square.
The rooms are unique and luxurious. The innkeeper Sally showed us true Southern hospitality. The breakfast was exceptional with many healthy options as well as hearty options as well.
We arrived after closing and were able to check ourselves in and help ourselves to snacks and drinks in the kitchen.
We absolutely loved our short stay here!

The perfect example of Brookhaven kindness and hospitality! We walked in to a room that was stylish and spotless. A small snack was waiting for us on the coffee table and the Keurig was ready to go! I don’t know of any other place in this precious town I would ever think of to stay. We had dinner on the corner at Magnolia Blues (you have to try the thick sliced bacon!), and ice cream at Jack’s Dessert Bar next door. The wait staff at M. B. ‘s was delightful and the cashier at Jack’s, Miss. Faith was super helpful. This is a bustling downtown and to be able to sit in the lobby of the hotel and watch the passersby was quite a treat.

Do yourself a favor and book a long weekend at the Inn. Full of southern grace and hospitality. Rooms and beautiful and clean.
Snacks, drinks and a a delightful breakfest in the lobby.
Many neat places to visit nearby or talk a walking tour....or just sit in the lobby and have a glass of wine and people watch.
Cant wait to go back

I have been meaning to write this review for a long time.. Sallie at the Inn on Whitworth was absolutely amazing!
My family and I are from the UK and we were staying at the Inn whilst on our travels from Tennessee to Louisiana and our stay was nothing short of perfect. I had reached out to Sallie prior to our arrival to see if she could organise a surprise for my parents 30th wedding anniversary and she was more than happy to help, she went above and beyond for my parents and arranged the most beautiful gift and card in their room, ready for our arrival.
Not only did she add this special touch to our stay, but the Inn was also beautiful, you could tell that it is well taken care of. Breakfast was lovely, and our rooms were immaculate.
If we ever find ourselves in Mississippi again, we would definitely stay with Sallie, and would happily recommend it to anyone also!

Visiting Brookhaven this weekend for 8 year old all star baseball state tournament and were totally surprised with this gem in the downtown area. The building renovation was done quite well, our stay was extremely comfortable, and quite special. Breakfast was over the top. But we were especially impressed by the hospitality shown by the host. Thank you Sallie and staff for anticipating and cheerfully meeting our every need.

I had never been to downtown Brookhaven or The Inn on Whitworth and I was so surprised by both. The downtown on a Wednesday night was full of people and absolutely beautiful. Even though I arrived late, I had multiple food options next door, not to mention the fabulous treats left in the kitchen at the hotel. The hotel was so beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely with many tasty, fresh options. However, I was most impressed by the incredible hospitality of the Inn Keepers and staff. I will absolutely be back. The hotel and downtown are enough reason to make the trip.

The folks here are incredibly friendly. I was welcomed more than once, and got some delicious treats when I checked in. The room was clean, and I really liked the door codes instead of a key card. There's lots of art, and a central living room. Trains run across the street, and I finally got to do the quarter on the tracks thing. I hope to return on my dime one day.
