We booked Aveyla Manta Village to live out a dream of swimming with the giant Mantas and it certainly lived up to our expectations! We’ve had an amazing week in a beautiful location and have seen so much amazing marine life. Snorkelling with the Mantas was unreal! They were stunning!! The guesthouse is well kept with great people who work hard to make sure everyone has a great holiday. The rooms are well equipped with air con, a fridge and kettle, plus the most comfortable bed ever!! We slept so well all week. It was so peaceful here and you get to meet like minded people from all over the world who love diving/ snorkelling and the ocean. It is an alcohol free island which didn’t make a difference at all as you are here for the ocean! The island reef was great! We saw dolphins, swam with Black tip reef sharks, turtles and an octopus, all just in front of our hotel. Would highly recommend Aveyla if you want to relax and have the most amazing experiences in the ocean. Thank you to all the staff at Aveyla, the service was impeccable. It’s great to see how much you all love the ocean. One of the liquid salt dive staff saved a turtle caught in a fishing net whilst we were there. Your island is nature at its best and perfect, we wouldn’t change a thing and we will be back someday. Thank you for an amazing week in such a beautiful country.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't stay here during my recent visit to Dharavandhoo, I stayed at another guest house nearby, but I knew Sidey, one of the owners of this place, from my previous visit 2 years ago and I came by to ask him how to operate a camera drone which I had borrowed from a friend back home. Sidey is a true expert at piloting camera drones, he can commandeer his drone to take off from his hand and manually pilot the drone back to his hand while he is sitting down on a beach chair!! That is a truly amazing skill because one of my friends back home who tried to catch his drone with his hand almost lost 2 fingers when his drone made contact with his hand!!! As it turned out, my friend's camera drone could not be operated in the vicinity of this island because the area is a no-fly zone due to the presence of the domestic airport. However, I was eager to get some drone footage of Hanifaru Bay, the UNESCO marine Biosphere reserve where big numbers of mantas gather to feed on plankton, so I asked Sidey if he could help me out with this. He agreed and I received 6 video clips of the mantas in Hanifaru Bay as well as 1 video clip of the bikini beach of Dharavandhoo island from Sidey, completely free-of-charge! I wish to thank Sidey for his generosity in sharing his video clips with me. I knew a British couple, Sean & Sue, who were staying at the Aveyla Manta Village and they informed me that they were very pleased with their room and meals here. They stayed here for a couple of nights before boarding their liveaboard. I also did the manta snorkeling excursion on 3 different days with Liquid Salt Divers, which is the dive center that is owned by the same owners of the Aveyla Manta Village, and we saw many mantas on all 3 snorkeling trips. Sidey surveys the surrounding waters for mantas with his camera drone and the boat only sets sail if there is a sizeable number of mantas in any particular spot. In this way, tourists will not be taken on a "wild goose chase" which is a waste of time and fuel, and produces no results. I recommend the Aveyla Manta Village as a good accommodation option on Dharavandhoo and the Liquid Salt Divers for manta snorkeling excursions to all overseas visitors who wish to swim & snorkel with mantas!

The resort provides the package to let you enjoy diving with Manta Rays in Biosphere Reserve at Baa Atoll. You can easily get to there by Domestic Flight, I go with Flyme airlines which the resort has booked for. All cost about accommodations, 3 main meals (Excluded Drinks), diving trip, Domestic flight are in the package. It depends on how long you will stay & how many dives you will join. Service providers are good, the staffs all are friendly. You can go for shore dive & will meet up the baby sharks. If luckily, the dolphins will swim closely by the shore to show off. Moreover, the resort has offered many package trips such as Sand Dune visit, Sunset Cruise, etc. Finally, for those who love to see Manta Rays once in life, Aveyla resort is Recommended.

Lovely experience with Aveyla, beyond expectation in fact. They may seem shorthanded at times but they have certainly super thoughtful staffs which my son and I had highly appreciated. Greetings, small chats and little actions throughout our stay had made us feel prioritised and looked out for. Best House reefs you can ask for. Two permanent resident Turtles come by every now and then, float around and you'll bound to see it. Me and my son visits it almost everyday of our stay. Dolphins pass by the beachfront if you are in luck to spot them! Hermit Crabs in action everyday and especially the nights, take a walk down the beach to enjoy the actions. And not forgetting their stretch of pristine beach shore, and all of these are just situated just right in front of Aveyla. We had Full board option, Choice of food is manageable and we enjoyed every meal. Our room was not beach facing, but we certainly spend more time at the beach itself than having a beach facing room and hangout in the room. It was situated in the second floor, and the size of the room is perfect with good ceiling space. They are ethical operators which are trying to bring down plastics pollution, their water provision are in glass bottles in the restaurants and in the rooms. Bring your own waterbottle there, and refill it, to reduce plastics. I am hoping Aveyla's plastic-free project will be successful and in place in time soon!! All the luck. Thanks for the love, company. Highly recommended; For the people, for the sites and for the island.
