We've stayed in different rooms each year when visiting. Both were comfortable and quiet -- everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Don was very welcoming and attentive. It is so conveniently located to go to the theater productions: we could leave the car parked and walk. The dining room is large and pleasant for breakfasts. They remembered food preferences and... Truly the best option for lodging close to downtown and Winona State University at a very reasonable rate. Hearty breakfast included too! The owner, Don, and general manager, Tara, are excellent hosts.

I traveled to Winona for a conference at the university, and couldn't have been happier with Carriage House. My room was very comfortable, and the refrigerator outside my door was stocked with free soft drinks and water, welcome during a very warm fall week. The hosts, Don and Tara, are amazing and extremely helpful--and they make a delicious breakfast! I'm... More

My spouse and I celebrated our anniversary in Winona and happily choose The Carriage House B & B for our stay. We are both partial to place that are beautiful architecturally and well maintained. Don his daughter Tara are really attentive to details and are genuinely interested in making sure your stay is wonderful. We enjoyed our time whether we... More

I really hate giving a poor or Meh review, but I feel like that's the best I can give this Bed & Breakfast. We needed a last minute room in Winona to visit our son who is a Winona State University student. Usually we stay at the Days Inn or Super 8, but since our daughter wasn't coming along, we... More

We are so sorry to hear your stay was anything less than wonderful. It sounds like you found the staff to be friendly, the room clean, and the breakfast enjoyable so we are happy to hear so many parts of your stay were positive. Should you decide to stay with us again, you need only let us know about the... More

The room was charming. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. Tara and Don were very friendly, and we had a nice chat with Don in the evening. Lovely people. Close to the river and lakes, within walking distance of lots of cafes and restaurants. We would definitely come here again.

We don't have enough adjectives to describe how good of an experience we had here! The owner and staff were beyond wonderful! We were treated like royalty and enjoyed every minute. Great location and wonderful facilities. Breakfast was amazing! We rode the bikes downtown to dinner and had a fabulous time. Definitely 6 stars on a 5 star scale!

First off, I'm not sure I even want to write this review for fear that there may not be an available room for us the next time we come into town. My wife and I were looking for a place to celebrate our 5-year anniversary and were able to snag a reservation at this B&B. Normally, our experiences at B&B's... More

To be honest, I've never stayed at a B&B before. For the past decade, I've stayed in hotels 90-100 nights a year and not once at a B&B. This is about to change. Had a great experience at the Carriage House this weekend. Though I bailed on the breakfast part to catch a flight (though had a quick chat with... More
