If you need a place to stay in Windom, this is it. Really. Location, location, location - be happy you don't have to stay 30 minutes away and drive into Windom to visit your family or go to your event, or whatever brings you to Windom. You will need to overlook the dingy beadspreads, stained carpets, beds that are still... More

For not having much for competition, this hotel was making the effort to be hospitable. Everything you'd expect, TV, microwave, refrigerator, coffee & coffee maker, wi-fi. Very clean and private, no complaints. I loved the fact that I had a garage attached directly to my room! They do offer a breakfast, however I didn't get to try it. All in... More

Its always a challenge to stay in a small town hotel, but this one is trying hard to meet some basic, important traveler needs, and I suspect it attracts a loyal group of repeat clients. Although I stayed in the summertime, the private garage option would be quite appealing on a cold Minnesota winter's night! There aren't a lot of... More

We had a double wedding with many out of town guests coming so we visited this facility a month ahead and negotiated a rate of $75 per room per night with who we were told was the manager. Upon departure a rate of $91 was charged. We tried to get the agreed upon rate with no success.

We have been staying at the Guardian Inn for a couple weeks. Maybe because it's the best in the area of little competition or what I haven't figured out. Beds are okay, pillows better bring your own. The morning snack is lacking everything but breads, coffee and orange juice. There is nothing else like a pool, work out room or... More

Hubby and I stayed in their whirlpool room for a one night getaway. The room was clean, bed comfortable. The room was large and it was really nice to park in the attached garage. We didn't have to unload everything from the car, and could run out in whatever we had on to get items that we needed. Whirlpool was... More

I been on the road for 25 years and stayed in many places. I thought it was weird that a room in a motel would have a garage. NOT at all. It was 2/12/14 and about 16 degrees. A garage is a wonderful thing to have. Very clean, very friendly and I would stay there again. Although, a better breakfast... More

I've stayed here several times for work. It is nothing fancy. Last time I noticed a baseboard peeling away from the wall, but the things that really matter are taken care of. The towels and sheets smell clean, the tub doesn't gross me out, everything works. They have a drive up check-in and private garage with each room which I... More

I realize 5 star hotels are not possible in small town USA but it can be done better than this. Bed was hard, pillows even harder. Toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. (But maybe the room hadn't been used in awhile.). Reservations are made on a large calendar not electronically. Breakfast was stale bread and coffee. But... More
