I've just had the pleasure of spending a week at this marvellous Campsite.
Much thanks to Peter and Sheila for the lovely welcome and their tireless energy keeping the site in tip top condition.
The site is very clean with a large socialising facility named " The Pitstop ", which has television, Wi-Fi, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge freezers all available to the campers at no extra charge.
Great location with bus stops just outside the main gates and frequent buses to Douglas and Peel.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and met some lovely people from the U.K., Ireland and Europe, as well as some Islanders who were also holidaying at the campsite.
I'm looking forward to returning next year.

stayed here for seven nights during TT in 2009. Easy acess to all the good viewing spots to watch practice or races, not too far from Douglas and nightspots. Great clubhouse with bar/food. Shower facilities very clean and weren't overcrowded. Friendly staff, bus stop just down the road. Shop within walking distance, flat screen and bar food including breakfast supplied in the clubhouse-nice food and very reasonable. Have nothing bad to say about this place-the bike and our belongings were safe, it wasn't too racous at night so we could sleep but still have fun. Could charge phones for free and most importantly ladies....you can bring your hair dryers, straighteners etc..as there are sockets everywhere plus ladies toilets and showers are very girl friendly. Rejoice!!! Also check out the Railway bar up the road. Great spot. Five stars :)

We travelled to the Isle of Man, with basic camping gear, on our push bikes and the ferry of course. The Glenlough campsite is approximately 3 miles from Douglas on the road to Peel, and there is a bus stop right outside the entrance. We were welcomed warmly on our early evening arrival and made aware of the facilities which are exemplary with plenty of toilets and showers, a wash room and not least of all the Pitstop. The Pitstop was a god send for us as we'd taken a three man tent for the two of us so we were snug to say the least. The Pitstop is a communal space with lots of charging points for phones, laptops etc, wifi, large flat screen tele, lots of tables and seating and the opportunity to meet fellow campers/travellers and share the days experiences. The campsite offers extensive views of the beautiful countryside that it's nestled in and there is a pub, restaurant and a Spar within easy walking distance.

Massively overcrowded and not enough facilities. Queues for everything all hours day and night. Very busy and very noisy Campsite. The campsite is completely overwhelmed with the amount of campers. Less than 10 showers for hundreds of campers. Tiny drying room is constantly full with soaking wet kit.
Lovely staff. Just need to bring the Campsite into this century with facilities. Outside open air urinals are so last century.

Stayed here for 6 nights in race week TT this year. £10 pn. Nice field with plenty of space. Showers are shocking, cold with no power, trickle, better wash in the rain.
Cheap bus from campsite to Douglas for £4 one way, plenty toilets and sinks. Cafe inside the wifi room very good quality, soup if the day etc. burger van on campsite is rubbish, food greasy, over priced and cold (even got charged for hot water)
Wouldn't camp here again.

Having not been on the island for many years, I thought I'd take my family for a few days camping & sight seeing.
After finding this campsite via a search & speaking to my uncle, who lives on the island, an email to Shelia, the owner all sounded good, so we booked & deposit paid.
We arrived on the Monday, a quick stop at the reception , no one there, but a welcome pack waiting.
Quick drive around to select our pitch, found where we wanted to go & setup, a look at the toilet/showers all fine..4Pods on site aswell, if you don't fancy camping.
Location was great, right on the main road A1 from Douglas to Peel & nothing to far away in any direction, great place for TT fans, as this is right on the circuit in Union Mills.
We were there on a quiet week in August, with no racing, there with young family so was good, can see it being a really busy over the TT weeks.
Great place,nice & friendly,clean & well kept..Sure we'll be back.

We travelled from Runcorn all eight of us via pushbikes and ferry and after a short ride uphill we arrived at our destination slightly out of puff, as we didn't find the heritage trail until the second day that goes all the way from douglas McDonalds to the camp site and onto Peel.
We took little gear with us as we had booked the Pods which are superb, they come with a small heater, which we didn't need to use and a little lamp and accommodated four in each comfortably (I would suggest a small extension if you require but the Pit stop area has sufficient sockets for charging of equipment) there is a bbq out side if you wish to use or to just have a fire to sit and relax around in the evening.
We were given a warm welcome and also advice on where to eat and drink although we had planned to go to the Creek Inn in Peel approx 9 mile from the camp along the trail at the rear of the camp.
The facilities were spotless as was the whole site but do watch that cold water tap in the gents....very powerful !!!
We would highly recommend Glenlough Campsite to all and say "Hi" to Sheila and Pete form the Jolly boys.
Hi Sheila and Peter,
We are the lads that stayed this weekend 16/04/14 in the pods.
We would like to thank you for your hospitality and warm welcome, the campsite is excellent and suited us perfectly not only with the situation but with the services too and we will definitely be returning again in the future for another ‘Jolly boys adventure’.
May I take this opportunity to thank Sheila for the honesty regarding the mix up of pod bookings, we never actually notice and were more than happy with where we were and size. The refund bought our breakfasts so we would ALL like to say “Thank you very much” there are not many people as sincere and honest as that in the world.
We wish you well for the future and hope to see you again soon.
Many thanks from the Jolly boys

My other half and I stayed at Glenlough during TT Race week. As you can imagine the campsite was brimming, and we would like to say that ALL the staff at Glenlough worked tirelessly to ensure the facilities were clean - it rained 90% of the week so you can imagine what the site was like!! So the staff deserved medals! Thank you!
The showers were always hot, the toilets were constantly being cleaned and toilet paper/paper towels/soap was always refilled.
There’s a wash room with sinks to was dishes etc and there’s now a washer and drier available too.
The Pitstop was great along with burger van available with reasonable prices. Although we didn’t use it much as we had an electric pitch so we tended to cook ourselves.
There was also a mini bus shuttle service into Douglas (provided by local taxi firm) during the TT (£2.50 pp) and there was also live music in the marquee tent too.
Clearly the atmosphere during this week would be TOTALLY different from non racing periods so it would definitely be a lot quieter. The only negative was that some of the other campers were either rude or disrespectful of other campers and the facilities....however the owners of the site can’t choose who stays.
We would definitely recommend this site. The staff were great, helpful and hardworking during an extremely busy period. It’s 10 minutes drive from Douglas and there’s a bus stop outside the site and at the back of the site you’re able to walk/cycle to Douglas and Peel.

We stayed here for nine days and had some horrid weather but the campsite people were first class. Many got rained out of there tents and even blown away but the Manx people pulled together to help out wet bikers. There was good communication from the site owners as to where to go and what to do as well as drying locations.
I would stop here again
