I read the online reviews before booking, but we did not find this a 3 star resort. There was fun by all, but there were things that you cannot ignore for 600.00 per night fee. In brief we would of loved to have been greeted and shown our cabin, and had someone tell us on how to get the best use of the Resort. Such as how to get towels, bait, ice, wood, etc. No breakfast served or coffee service early in the am. Our cabin was dated but its a cabin, we wished the air conditioning worked, and the fireplace as it got chilly at night and a cozy fire would have been nice during the rain. Fridge ate our food, spoiled it one day, then froze it the next made a awful sound the whole time. Kitchen was stocked with stuff, a sharp knife would been a plus. We figured out how to get towels from the front desk the nest day at 1.75 charge. It would been nice for 600 +- to get a grill, towels, charcoal, firewood included? I did ask for some help with the air conditioner I got it going by going outside and work on the breakers, but still no cold air. The good...Beach was clean, pool was nice (needed to be open later) hot tub HOT but kept the kids out and killed the covid. I am sure they struggled with the covid issues and labor otherwise the grounds would have been better kept. The boat slips nice...but needed housekeeping, fishouse great! The two brothers were friendly I just wished they would have engaged us instead of us spending time figuring out the place. Check in Friday night 5 pm , check out Tuesday morning Almost 2700.00 no food or bar.…
Four brothers set sail for a four night tour on the beautiful Hiawatha houseboat. I was a little concerned about us navigating this large craft, but the owners explained everything in great detail before we left port. The weather was too hot for the fish to bite, but my brothers and I enjoyed a relaxing 4 nights on this well equipped vessel.
Enjoyed our yearly family vacation at Hiawatha resort for a second year! We will be back! This resort is so clean and well appointed! Our family of 20 plus people have been doing a week in Minnesota for 30 plus years, we have stayed several different resorts. Hiawatha is one of the very best. Beach is amazing, many activities for all ages to enjoy. The employees are so friendly and very helpful. Food at the lodge is very good.
We have been going to Hiawatha Beach for a family vacation for a week each summer since 2012 (3 generations). There is beautiful scenery, a huge sandy beach, helpful employees/owners, and plenty of opportunities to spend time together. Each week, there are planned activities for the kids to do like rocket building, painting, weenie roasts, etc. The beach is very well kept and clean. The dock hands are some of the hardest working kids I've ever seen! The new harbor is awesome. Being able to order dinner at the lodge is very handy too, for the days when no one feels like cooking. 😁 We look forward to our week at Leech Lake each summer! Thank so much, Jacobsons!
DO NOT GET SCAMMED. Not sure what happened but our families stayed here a couple of years ago and we had no complaints..Maybe there was a change in management. One of our families stayed in a cabin and one of us rented a space for our RV. The oven did not work so we had ruined meals, the shower was horrible and deafening in sound. We could not flush our toilets one day because there was no water. Thankfully we were on the boat all day so we didn't have to endure the inconvienience of this. I just looked at the other bad reviews and there responses to the bad reviews by Hiawatha owners and their responses are rediculous as they claim they did not know there were problems. They are in complete denial as we told them throughout our stay of the resort issues. Right beside us they were building a new cabin and we had to listen to deafening sawing and construction from 7am - 9pm daily. After our second day of complaining about the deafening noise and having to scream out conversations we complained. They compensated us with pizzas for our lunch. How they thought that compensation was good enough to make us happy was a slap in the face. Our compensation for the week was they didn't charge us for some of the bill we had for two dogs. (The dogs, because of the noise, were only let out of the camper for toilet breaks, because of the noise, they would physically shake they were so scared.). Yes, our family had a good time being together, but we will never stay here again as the accommodations were very poor (cabin was in below par shape in decor, maintenance and overall shape/looks) for the high price. We paid a premium price and they charged us for everything. We were even overcharged for the number of people in our parties. I got to the point I was tired of arguing about our bills. We were overcharged and they refused to correct the bill. I have to say it was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I recommend you look around.…

Friendly, accommodating staff. Very well equipped cabins. Beautiful beach. Very clean cabins and grounds. My family has been vacationing in Minnesota for 30 plus years, this one of the nicest resorts we have stayed at.
Such a beautiful place! The staff is so sweet and everyone is very friendly!! The lake is also extremely beautiful, plus the resort lets you rent boats if you don’t have one! Totally recommend for a family get away!:)
I cannot say enough good things about Hiawatha Beach Resort! AJ, Vanessa, and Ben were exceptional to work with. They made the planning of a three-day reunion for 100 people so much easier. We had family that stayed in their Lodge Rooms as well as the Cabins. We heard nothing but positive feedback from all 90 guests! The Lodge rooms and Cabins had full kitchens that were well stocked with utensils and necessities needed for cooking. Even a dishwasher! They were able to set us up with enough grills and picnic tables to seat 90 people for evening meals. They even let us use their golf cart to transport three elderly family members from the lodge to the lawn. The beach was always clean and the kids (all ages) enjoyed the paddle boards, inflatables, and much more. The pool and hot tub were an awesome option for those who didn't want to swim in the lake. The adults enjoyed the Veranda that overlooks the beach. We had three boats docked in their marina -- wonderful addition -- easy in and easy out. Had good luck fishing the lake and tons of fun just fishing off the docks. The scheduled weekly kids activities were a blessing and if you get the chance don't miss out on Bingo! As you can tell we had a wonderful time and many family members have booked private vacations for next year. Give Hiawatha Beach a chance to make your family vacation an awesome experience!…
This place was wonderful! One of my favorite Resorts and we go to a different one weekly in the summer with our camper. Best beach by far and the staff were all great. Don't forget to try the pizza. They have a indoor pool and hot tub that is steps away from the beach, tons of free things like paddle boats, canoes, paddle boards etc. The cabins looked very nice with a variety of sizes to accommodate any occasion. I will be back next year for sure.
