There are two primary aspects to any B&B: the B and the B. At Turning Waters, the accommodations are excellent. The rooms are super clean and neatly appointed. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and nutritious. Typically, there is a main dish with several accessories such as muffins, yogurt, fruits and juices. There is fresh coffee early, and breakfast is at nine. There are other features at Turning Waters. The proprietors operate a brewery and they make a nice range of tasty beers. They offer a free tasting in late afternoon and if interested, you may purchase more. All guests are welcome at the tasting and the conversation is wide-ranging and very interesting. They also have a variety of books and DVDs and a nice wrap-around porch for relaxing and gazing. The best feature is the proprietress. When you stay at Turning Waters, she makes you feel like you're truly welcome and not just a client. We have stayed at Turning Water B&B during two visits to Wabasha. Both visits were excellent. If I could give Turning Waters ten stars, I would.…
Beautiful and very clean rooms, great food, hospitality can't be beat and a pub! We came back a second time with some friends. They were a bit hesitant at first with the room rates.....until they saw the rooms. Then they were all in!
I have stayed in B and Bs all over the states and Europe and this easily is among the tops. Spectacular suites and rooms, spotless in every way, wonderful breakfasts, all in a beautiful large and historic and wholly comfortable home just a couple of blocks from a lovely downtown and the National Eagle Center. Convenient for Mississippi boaters. Relaxing, up-to-date accommodations. I can’t find enough positive words to describe the experience of staying here.
We loved our stay. This is a very clean and cozy place to stay with an on-site brewery/bar. It is walking distance to restaurants. Many surprising amenities. Bed was very comfortable. Delicious 5 course breakfast. Brenda made us feel very welcomed. I would highly recommend a stay here!
We stayed at Turning Waters last night, and I agree wholeheartedly with the many excellent reviews. This was a perfect bed and breakfast experience from check-in through breakfast and checkout. This is a perfect B&B, and I wouldn't change a thing!
Great Stay at the Turning Waters B and B. They have 3 suites and 2 non-suite rooms. We were in one of the non-suite rooms. Suites have their own bathrooms with extras like Jacuzzi or fireplace. Our non-suite room had our own bathroom, but it was down the hall. Really not an issue and ours had a claw foot soaker tub in addition to the separate shower. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable. Brenda, our host was great. Super busy but really on top of things. As I tend to expect and enjoy at a B&B, Brenda had some stories and history on the building. Breakfast was excellent both mornings. I believe the menu varies, but we had fresh fruit, yogurt and granola each day along with an Egg bake one morning and Croissant Bread budding -ish dish. Sausages, Apple/Rhubarb Crisp. Everything was excellent! Fun thing about the B&B is they also have a Brewery. Picture a nice garage bar with home made brews and a great area in the backyard patio. A variety of beers and really good beer. For the non-beer drinker, Brenda has an excellent Sangria Smoothie. We spent time both Saturday and Sunday afternoon, into the evening, sitting in the back yard, enjoying a few beverages. An interesting mix of people hanging out, guests and locals. Live music on Saturday night was enjoyable as well. We also did some biking. There are a variety of routes to bike. We ranged our days from one 30+ mile trip that was pretty challenging along mainly county roads, a 14 mile route and a quick morning 5 mile loop around town.…
Had a small family get together here for my parents anniversary. The place is absolutely beautiful and Brenda was very accommodating. Rooms were beautiful and breakfast were amazing. Such a beautiful place in a very lovely town.
Celebrated the husband’s birthday at Turning Waters this weekend and had the best time. Brenda is a natural host, making us feel at home immediately. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated, comfortable, and clean. Brenda and Halley made the most delicious breakfasts with such variety and quality ingredients. We will be returning for sure!
Great Bed and Breakfast right on the Mississippi River! Our king suite was comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Our plentiful hot breakfast was scrumptious and varied each morning. My favorite was the berry croissant and cream cheese bread pudding! The owner was friendly and engaging. She had good local restaurant recommendations as well as suggestions for local attractions. We really enjoyed our weekend away!
A great weekend getaway at this great B&B. This was our first time staying at a B&B and I don’t think we will be able to match it. Brenda & Ford we’re very nice and told us a lot about the area and recommended places to eat. The brewery was a blast. We met many great people from the area. Breakfast was also a delicious way to start the day. Brenda made sure you were able to enjoy what she made and it was a delicious 5 course breakfast each morning. We always ended the day at the fun brewery on the property. You know the beers are good when you can’t decide which one to order. We felt like we left friends when we went home.
