Great service friendly people and very accommodating. We cut out trip short during Labor Day and they Gave us an immediate refund for that night
Older motel but very clean and dog friendly with a 10.00 one time charge for our dogs.
Carpet was indoor/outdoor with a few light stains. It was No problem for us.
It is an old time mom and pop motor Inn where u park rt outside your room complete with a screen door. It had an actual key.
I would definitely stay there again

My wife and I stayed 1 night, arriving at 2PM to a welcoming receptionist who checked my identity, processed my payment while I filled out a car paper, then presented the key.
I parked below upper room #29. It was carpeted, clean with a cathedral ceiling, a comfortable queen, table & 2 chairs, closet bar and a sink nook with medium sized refrigerator, micro, coffee machine.
The tight toilet and tub/shower room had shampoo and an opening window. The large TV had an easy guide(Bloomberg, CNBC, CNN, HGTV, local news and 100 more channels). Good open wifi, ample outlets, good lighting and well positioned AC with baseboard heat. Had a quiet night’s sleep and enjoyed our stay with its lake view across the highway and adjacent to the new Super One Foods.

Bedding was clean, beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Nice to have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Dog friendly with no extra charge. Free WiFi. Is the motel older? Yes. But for what they charge it is just fine. We enjoyed a walk by the lake across the street and the grocery store nearby was convenient.

I read many reviews before choosing this motel. Cleanliness is my number 1 criteria. I don't care if a place is older, smaller or outdated, but I DO want it CLEAN! The linens, sink, bathroom and carpeting were clean. However, there was a subtle unpleasant odor I could not identify. The walls, doors, and windows were not clean. There was even a grease stained 'kiss' on the window in the shape of lips. (Rm #26) I wonder how long that's been there!?! I started using a tissue with water to remove months worth of grime on the white wood slats around the bathroom counter, coffee splashed on the bathroom door and walls, etc. I soon went to the office and asked for a rag and cleaning solution. The gal in the office apologized, saying they had hired new help, and she offered to come and clean. However, since I was going to be sleeping in there, I preferred to do the cleaning myself. The heat registers were coated with grime, the door frame and screen were filthy and the screen's rubber pulled out of the channel and 6 inches were just hanging there. The carpet that runs in front of the doors needed a good vacuuming and the wooden deck has much pealing paint. The first night was quiet and I slept well. The 2nd night had people outside having a conversation and doors banging until 11:30 pm. I finally got to sleep at 1. Then at 6:50 am I was awaken by another couple from the room next to us sitting outside talking over a cigarette. Again, 'normal' voices, but it sounded like they were IN our room. That's too early. The rooms need a 'deep cleaning" I even had to clean yellow spots off of the bathroom ceiling and the wall light in the bathroom is coated in rust. A little TLC would create a much better first impression. In this time of Covid I couldn't help but wonder if they don't even clean the obvious dirt and marks off the woodwork, registers and the perimeter of the bathroom counter, do they even disinfect the high touch surfaces? Very disappointed.

The unit was a little "tired". Places to park with vehicle and boat trailer attached were limited. Staff service was very good, quick check in and friendly. Located a block from a gas station and a grocery store. Pizza restaurant was a 600 yard walk away.

For someone working in the North woods and not having a lot of time to sleep this motel was fine. Not fancy but clean quiet and friendly staff. The bathroom has been redone and great shower! Virginia is a great city! The motel sits on a lake Northwest if downtown.

This place was so dirty. Couldn’t put your feet on the floor. It said no frills which I wouldn’t have minded, but so dirty. Chairs were so Filthy I had to cover the chairs with towels. Screen door falling off the frame. No maid service at all. Had to bring our own trash out to the dumpster. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Very pleasant smaller motel. Friendly staff and easy check-in. Room and bathroom had newer upgrades. We appreciated the fridge and microwave and modest charge.
They even found and mailed the wedding ring my husband left behind!

Great little find. Very clean and updated. We would definitely stay again. Owners were great to talk to. We were traveling to another function nearby and found this great little place to stay. If we return to Virginia, we will stay here again without a doubt.

I've been staying at the Lakeshor for years and am always happy to go back. It would be very easy to overlook. From the outside it looks like an old green shoebox, but the rooms are spotlessly clean and quite attractive. The owners, furthermore, are very friendly people and quick to solve any problem you may find. The location is the best in town. It backs up to a lake just the right size for a morning or evening walk, it's close to downtown, and it's a couple of hundred yards from an excellent organic foods store. This makes staying in one of their suites especially convenient if you will be in town for a few days.
