On a whim, I decided to try to reserve a night at the Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast on the day of going up to the Northshore, and lo and behold, they had the Forest Room open just for me. Lol. Melissa was very accommodating, leaving a key at the lighthouse in an envelope for me, since I was coming into... More

Thank you for the great review. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving as well. I just wanted to clarify on one thing. The house does have old pipes it was built in 1892, so anything other than toilet paper goes into the garbage can. I hope you are able to stay at the Lighthouse in the future. MeLisa More

Firstly you need to understand what this is. You are staying in the lighthouse and sleeping in a bedroom. It is like sleeping in the room of a house and sharing the kitchen, bathroom and other common areas with other guests. This has it's drawbacks such as if you are a light sleeper it is possible other guests will keep... More

We spent a beautiful night at the B&B. It exceeded my expectations, with classic old furnishings, gorgeous views from every side, and a completely relaxed homey feeling. After many cabins closed after Labor Day, my girlfriend and I booked a room at the B&B. I am a fan of adorable historic small town stops, she is a fan of potentially... More

I stayed in the Keeper's Room one evening in October 2016 and absolutely loved it. I arrived late but it was no problem since I had called ahead and they were happy to arrange a late check in. When I arrived there was coffee and cheesecake waiting for me, which was a very nice welcome. The Keeper's Room was very... More

As we arrived, we were greeted at the gate by Kevin, the host, who pointed out a huge bald eagle circling the lighthouse. We went inside to find a pot of freshly brewed coffee and lemon bars awaiting us. Now that's what we call a welcome. As the only guests on this Fall evening, we had the wonderfully restored lighthouse... More

We stayed at the Lighthouse B&B for two nights. We opted to stay in the Skiff house because I wanted the privacy and didn't want to share a bathroom. It was well worth the extra $15 to stay in the skiff house. It was quiet and private and we could see the lighthouse from our window and still had a... More

Enjoyed the history, the conversation and the information about the loading of the boats in the bay. We enjoyed reading about the ghostly tales written by the prior guests. Unfortunately, we had to get on the road to avoid a weather front as we were on a bike...so didn't get to stay for breakfast.

What a nice little gem tucked into Lake Superior's north shore in an operating lighthouse. Stayed a night in the Forest Room for a very reasonable $145. Had free roam of the picturesque grounds, lighthouse and adjacent park and breakwater. We always seek out lighthouses in our travels, so to stay in one was exciting. The bed and breakfast was... This B and B is in a very cool location. We watched a ship come in and had a bonfire in the backyard. Comfortable amenities - beds, common areas etc. Melissa was a wonderful host. Good food. Zero complaints!

We stayed for four nights for an anniversary get-away and the most special memory was the walks along Lake Superior. The breakfasts provided each morning were incredible in the dining room enjoying getting to know the other guests. The hospitality was great with coffee and treats in the afternoon.
