Clean, safe and small. Spotty wifi. Way too much air fresheners, we kept tucking them away outside due to allergies, the owner kept bringing them back in the entryway. This property is 14 miles from Two Harbors. Beautiful grounds. Lovely hummingbird gardens. Great swing. Wish it was connected to the lake, but we were able to see it through the... More

Friends had told us about J. Gregers and their positive reviews were right on. We stayed in the Lake Superior Cabin. It is small but the charm and spotlessness makes up for square footage. Very comfortable bed, nice (but distant) view of Lake Superior, filled with DVDs, games, reading material and right on the state bike path. If you are... More

Our stay was for 2 days. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were not aware of the breakfast option, so cannot comment. Not much interaction with the hosts except for check-in, but their welcome was warm. Two things about the room were an inconvenience, but not a show-stopper. First, shower pressure was very weak. Second, the room did not... More

Great location! The cabin was quiet, clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. The owners were friendly and very helpful! Towels were fresh as were the cookies left on the table. It was chilly and after dark the night we arrived, it was a nice tough that the owner had the lights on in the cabin and the... More

We took up most of the rooms in this charming little inn for our large group in early September. Easy to find on the main Highway 61, this property had a semi-decent view of the lake through a grassy field and trees; since the lake is generally freezing, there was no reason to be close enough to swim or wade... Our family comes to stay every year at J. Gregers Inn! We book our trip a year in advance to be sure we get to stay and enjoy the North Shore. We bike and hike and love the new places that Bryce tells us to go! He is full of great new locations! I was prompted to write as I... More

I'll make this short, much like our interaction with our "hosts". We knocked on the office door upon arrival only for it to open to our host Judy barely making eye contact with us and telling her friend that she was on the phone with in an annoyed tone that she had to hang up because she had a check... This was our first time to the North Shore for my husband and I and we were very impressed. J Gregers is a small intimate place right along Highway 61. It was a great central place for us to do day exploring of Two Harbors, Lutsen and Grand Marais. The room we has was the Temperence Room and when we... More

Spent one night in the Temperance River Room. Very cozy and spacious room with refrigerator, micro wave, coffee pot, table and couch. Breakfast is available but must be reserved prior to 7 pm the night before and isn't served until 8:30 am which was a little late for use since we had lots to do the next day. Inn is... More

Although our room was a bit dated, it was spotlessly clean and the owners had even left us homemade cookies. The location is great, right between Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse. The yard and fire pit are nice with a pretty, but limited, view of the lake. I would definitely stay again.
