Staff was nice, hotel was clean, but the beds! Sooo uncomfortable. Definitely needs an upgrade on the beds. The breakfast was decent. We enjoyed exploring Superior The candy shop in town is super. We loved the military museum and explored the beach area also. Id stay in Superior again for sure, but a different hotel.

The good: clean and spacious room, comfortable bedding and towels, good location with great lake views. The bad: no service, late check-ins, noise, and a $35/day resort fee despite lack of service. The staff are doing the best they can under the circumstances, but it seems short-sighted to alienate and frustrate guests by charging regular resort prices and booking the facility without the means to comfortably accommodate them.

We stayed at the Lakehomes for 3 nights and it was great! They had check in right on time and things were clean. Nice privacy and pool amenities. Great view of the lake. We will definitely be back! They even checked in on us to see if we needed anything!

Just don't do it. Waited over 5 hours past check in time (until 9pm) for our room before deciding to cancel the reservation with no sense of empathy from the staff. No discount on the room either. Hard pass. I was just thankful I wasn't the couple with the 4 month old in the same boat as us, again the staff didn't care about any of the many groups still waiting to have a clean room ready And responding to the establishment saying we requested an early check in, no we did not. Check in on their site is at 4 pm. Showed up at 5:30 and were told it's not ready. Ok so came back at 7:30pm after getting dinner, still the same response with no estimate of when it would be ready. Just before 9pm we decided it wasn't worth waiting anymore and canceled our reservation. Don't think trying to check in before 9pm is considered an "early check in". Sounds like they shouldn't have booked that many rooms as we were one of many many groups without a room at 9pm on the day of our reservation. We also heard staff telling the parents of a 4 month old around 8:30pm they couldn't guarantee they get in their room tonight. Just utterly pathetic, heartless, and uncaring.

Response from North Shore Resort Company, Marketing at Superior Shores Resort & Conference Center
Responded 4 weeks ago
Hello, as responded to on google, and as you mentioned in your review about the early check in, in which we have the notes in your file where you requested an early check in when you reserved your room, online. The request definitely was there and only could have been made by yourself. So I don't understand the switch in narrative. Further your reservation was time stamped when you canceled, so we both no that it was not 9 pm. I'm not sure the intent here? And the icing on the cake to this was how you wrote a review far before your claim of 5 hours past check in via google? My guess is you are piggy backing off the reviews on here, which we are still disputing with Tripadvisor as the majority are clearly fake. I'd chalk this up to the same except we can actually match up your review with the reservation. Again I'm not sure the intent, but responding to this goes against everything we believe in hospitality, but I feel I have no choice but to point out the discrepancies in your review; of which I believe is solely your attempt to get out of a deposit because we could not honor an early check in.

Is stayed at this resort over the LaborDay weekend (2021). I booked a room with a large whirlpool spa in the room which Ididn’t work, the jets would not turn on. I didnt mention this to the front desk since it was late at night when I tried it. The hotel was so short staffed that there was no housekeeping services and the restaurant and bar were closed. This turned out to be a very different experience than I booked. In addition to all of this I found a soiled pair of ladies thong underwear hanging from an electric outlet in my room, I did bring them down to the front desk and the staff wasn’t to concerned. The entire property seems a bit run down for the prices they charge. I did email the hotel after I departed and asked for a full refund, the front desk person was very unfriendly and borderline rude. I was issues $100 credit of the $596 I paid for a 2 night stay. I am very disappointed in this resort and will not stay there again, I do not recommend this place.
