My husband and I just returned from a two night stay at the Aurora Staples in Stillwater. We were greeted by Rachel who was the ultimate host. Our accommodation, the St. Croix Suite, was tastefully appointed with modern conveniences in a Victorian setting. Linens were luxurious, the shower was warm and relaxing, the bed was perfect; but the breakfast was best of all. Delivered to our room, it was scrumptious!! Tip: bring slippers or house shoes as they ask you to remove your shoes inside the front entrance.

This was our second stay at the Aurura Staples Inn. We went to Stillwater to take in the Christmas lights. This trip we stayed in the Carriage House partly because of covid concern's. The Carriage House is a completely private, detached suite. Our stay was just an overnighter, but it was an outstanding stay. As before, we were greeted apon checking in with glass of wine before being shown our room. The room is spacious, comfortable and very nicely decorated. The jacuzzi, a treat after walking around town. The room is complete with a mini fridge and coffee pot, not that the coffee pot will be needed as Rachelle brings a freash pot of coffee in the morning before breakfast. Rachelle cooks the most outstanding breakfast we have ever had at a B&B! Almost too much to finish! The walk to Main Street is short and easy, even for my wife who has a bad back. I'm positive we will be staying there again next time we go to Stillwater.

The room was comfy, the fireplace warm, the jacuzzi tub relaxing, but the real delight here is the giant platter of breakfast foods brought right to the room! There was so. much. food. And it was all delicious. Rachelle and staff took all our dietary needs into consideration when crafting these exquisite breakfast trays, and we ate enough to last until dinner time.

We also appreciated Rachelle's adherence to safe Covid practices - all guests required to wear masks in the public areas, and the staff social distanced when we interacted. Whenever we needed anything (like mugs for the communal Keurig), there was always someone around to help.

And finally, the location is great, walking distance from downtown Stillwater and a couple of our favorite restaurants.

The Aurora Staples Inn is a very lovely B&B. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff catered to our tastes and dietary needs. The room was filled with lots of "stuff", not my taste but done tastefully. Hershey kisses were plentiful and there was a small refrigerator with soda and cold water available in the hallway.

There were a few areas I felt that they Inn fell down. First of all, I believe due to the Covid pandemic they did not clean the room each day. It would have been nice if they would have told us. Secondly, I asked if ice was available. I was told that i would have to knock on the owner's down to get a glass of ice. I would rather not have to disturb them (though they might not have considered this a bother), I would have rather had ice available in a common area.

Friends had recommended a visit to Stillwater in early April to launch our extended road trip west, so being our first visit, we opted for this bed and breakfast. We are happy we chose Aurora Staples Inn! It's located in a lovely residential area yet conveniently close to the main shopping. Rachelle is a sweetheart of a host and we loved the added attention to food service details such as wine, cheese and fruit displayed charmingly on a tray, and her breakfast the next morning was to-die-for delicious!

My husband and I stayed a night at the Aurora Staples Inn for our mini-moon. After a long week of wedding festivities, this was the PERFECT place to relax, feel pampered and enjoy some quiet time with each other. Rachelle greeted us right away and made us feel comfortable and familiar with the inn. We stayed in the Riverside room and had a bottle of champagne chilling next to chocolate covered strawberries. It is a hop and a skip away from downtown where we enjoyed dinner at Lolo. The bed was honestly one of the most comfy beds we’ve ever slept on and breakfast the next morning was INCREDIBLE!

We honestly can’t say enough good things about our stay at Aurora Staples Inn and absolutely plan to make this a yearly tradition!

I loved my stay at the Aurora Staples Inn.

Room: Stayed in The Giverny, which has a king-sized bed and a jacuzzi but no shower (there is a detachable head for rinsing). The bed was incredibly comfortable (loved the sheets) and even my travel companion for the trip, a notoriously poor sleeper, slept well. There is a little room with a sink and toilet that is well-stocked. There was a choice of scents for the tub and we appreciated the extra touch.

House: We didn't use the common areas because of COVID. Guests have to remove shoes at the front door, as a heads up.

Location: Hilly, but walkable. There are a few restaurants a short walk away.

Breakfast: Outstanding. Breakfast was delivered to the room to account for COVID, which we appreciated. Accommodations were made for lactose-intolerance (I think we were given the vegan breakfast). There was quite the magnificent spread, and everything, especially the pumpkin custard (?) was delicious. We were thoroughly impressed and satisfied.

Would definitely recommend Aurora Staples Inn to travelers in Stillwater.

We stayed for two nights this past week in the St. Croix Suite. The suite was decorated beautifully, everything was spotless, the fireplace and hot tub were great - and the bed was super comfy! Everything about the home was fabulous and restored beyond great! Rachelle thought of even the smallest of details and luxuries. Her arrival snack tray was delicious and the two breakfasts were so scrumptious (3 course breakfast). We were so spoiled by staying there - and we'll definitely be back!!! Stillwater, Minnesota is a beautiful town with lots to see and do (especially antiquing and river/boating activities)! Thank you, Rachelle!

My boyfriend brought me there for a birthday celebration and am very glad he chose this place! The rooms were authentic with period-style details, very clean and with a comfy king-size bed and roomy hot tub. The breakfast was a serious treat! As a self-proclaimed foodie, I couldn't have asked for more delicious breakfast with quiche, potatoes, fruit, and a rich and creamy cheesecake. The owner graciously let us choose another room (if we wanted) and so we opted for the hot tub room although I'm confident that our original room would have been excellent as well. Highly recommend this inn for a special occasion or any time at all! Plan to go back for a winter weekend get away :)

This is the second time I've stayed here, the first in the carriage house. We loved it. It was large and beautiful, quiet and inviting. The hosts were perfect -- welcoming and attentive, bringing a tray of wine/juice/beer and appetizers upon our arrival. Coffee was brought to our room at 8 a.m. and a truly generous and delicious breakfast at 9:00. I would highly recommend staying here. Not much different cost than a hotel, and so much better in every way.

Yes, there are several windows on the front on the Carriage House that get the afternoon sun, one on the side of the room, and one in the bathroom.

There is a handheld shower nozzle in the whirlpool tub. The Carriage House and Riverview Suite also have showers. Hope this helps!
