We just stayed one night for our 49th Anniversary and Wow... All the staff were excellent from the sign in to the restaurant. The room overlooked the river and was fantastic. A block to the downtown district for shopping in very unique shops. We will book again but next time for the balcony suites in the summer to sit and watch the boats go by. This was a wonderful experience.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. We forgot a wine opener so they opened the bottle for us. A nice highlight was Charlies Irish Pub located on site. Great view of the river, live music and very friendly staff. We sat on the deck, and enjoyed the view and a tasty Bloody Mary. We were so busy exploring Stillwater that we weren't in our room very much. It's a little more expensive than what I'm used to but it was great being within walking distance of everything.

I could write a huge review but to sum it up shortly- their business plan (if they have one) must be to spend as little as possible while taking advantage of their location and have no customer service. I would not even recommend the historic rooms as just a place to sleep for the night- lumpy, uncomfortable beds and “pillows”(not even half the size of a standard pillow). The linens are so cheap/old they get pulled off the mattress when you sit, the towel quality is less than what you get a gym and motel 6 leaves you more towels than this place.

We enjoyed our very large room. We were in the original part built in 1890. Decorated in Victorian style with large ornate wood carved furniture. Some street noise - so if you want it quiet get a room overlooking the St. Croix River. It was quiet enough later in the evening. Great location to be based at to explore the downtown district. The hotel parking was worth it. Recommend doing on a busy Weekend.

We received a very nice wedding gift certificate to the Water Street Inn. We had a wonderful experience. We encountered three different front desk staff and all were very nice and helpful. The lobby and room were clean and modern. We loved sitting on the balcony in the comfy rockers. Four of us ate in the pub and we were very happy with our food. The soups were especially good. I really don’t understand the negative reviews on here because we couldn’t be happier with our stay.
