Guests be aware of the 7 day cancel policy. I had to cancel due to work. Sent an email, first one got rejected because it was incorrect in the confirmation email. Resent it without the extra period. No answer. Followed up with a phone call two days later. Was told by staff that a manager had to approve. Never got a call back. Called a few days later and was told manager denied it. No communication to that affect, no call back or consideration given. Was told I would have got a refund if the room got reserved. Asked if it had, staff say it must not have if I didn't get a refund. Very bad communicators.

Super location, friendly staff, meal from restaurant was really good. I would say the window blinds to the street from my Water Street room could be replaced to sufficiently cover the entire window. Also the jacuzzi really needed a much more thorough cleaning. Understand those are not easy to clean but it was not good, I would not use it.

The place is outdated, dirty & basically a dump. If it wasn't lococated where it is it would be out of business! Plenty of other options that are worth the money in town. This is not worth the money of a hotel 6! Don't disappoint yourself..

Loved the Victorian atmosphere and decor. My daughter and I love watching movies with rooms like what we stayed in. We discussed which movies curtain things about the hotel reminded us of. Loved walking down the long hallways to get to our room. We had read things about the hotel and wanted to check that out also. Then when we got to the room and opened the door, it was like stepping into a room in the movies. The room we had was one of the older rooms. We loved the old fashion bed frame, the Old looking wallpaper and wall light fixtures, the sitting area, fireplace and the murphy bed. Really, I guess you could say, we enjoyed everything in the room. It was a nice change from what rooms are like in the major chain hotels. We were within walking distance to restaurants, so had a beer before going to the Zepher theater in the evening, to go on the Haunted Trolly ride. When we got back from the trolly ride, we went to Charles Irish Pub for a couple of beers. Very nice Pub. The next morning, we decide to walk to a cafe for breakfast. Yes, we could have eaten at the hotel, but the weather was finally nice and warm so decided to enjoy it before it turned freezing cold again. Will most likely do that the next time we stay at the hotel, because we plan on going on another paddleboat ride on the river next year,

My room was comfortable and clean. We had a porch with chairs and plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable. I would recommend a room with a river view in the new section!! The hotel is very convenient to restaurants (there is a restaurant in the hotel -- Charlies!) and everything located in the downtown area. The old draw bridge is next to the inn...the river flows beside the inn...Main Street is one block away with shops and restaurants...it is convenient to the marina. I highly recommend this inn!!

This hotel has a beautiful view with easy access to the river and bridge and a beautiful lobby and that’s about it. The management doesn’t have a clue as to what they’re doing. The General Manager was… we’ll, not helpful. The front desk check in clerk was rude. The halls smell of stale beer and antiques. Our “River view room with fireplace and jacuzzi tub” was $330/night and looked like a run down hotel on the side of the street. The front room was terribly lit, the couch is from the 50’s from the smell and color of it. There isn’t a closet or dresser to store your clothes, no fridge or microwave either. Extremely BARE MINIMUM room. The bathroom sink was cracked and coming off the wall, with the “walk in shower” so small you can’t move around in. The jacuzzi tub was disgusting with yellow jets and paint peeling and cracking with splitting wood on the sides of it. For this big room, they put a “queen” size bed but really it was a double/full with the most uncomfortable, hard mattress, lump hard pillows and 2 thread count sheets. It was like sleeping in sandpaper. The lamp shades were dirty, cracked and falling apart while the blinds to the room had some panels missing and didn’t work either. To top it off, the restaurant downstairs has awful service. I ordered $150 worth of breakfast, togo, and the box of bacon was clearly the days before, hard and burned, not made to order like the rest of our food. When I asked for new bacon, the server (an older woman with dark brown hair, not the bartender) said ok but when I picked it up and I thanked her, as I walked up the stairs I could hear her talking bad about me. While this hotel is conveniently located, it’s a total dump. If paying $330/night +$20/day for parking is your thing, then please waste your money here.

#1…asked for room not above construction. We were placed directly next to construction. We were upgraded to a different room for a higher price. #2… downhill from there… floor was dirty, wallpaper coming off wall, and the bed was hard!!! The Kicker… mid soak in the whirlpool a gross bug with legs appeared. Must have come through the jets. #3… the lady at front desk was very apologetic and grossed out from the picture of the bug. The “manager” on the other hand was cold, unfriendly, and not consumer friendly. Offered to buy us breakfast. ( not real hungry after the sight of the wiggly bug) He provided $25 off.. but he should have kept it as far as I’m concerned to clean out the whirlpool jets.) #4… will NOT be returning! Save your money and drive from a different hotel to see the beauty of the St. Croix. I’m sure there’s cleaner upgraded hotels in the area. Waste of hard earned $$$ and ruined our fall get away.

We asked for an early checkin back in April 2022 when we made the reservation because we were attending a wedding on a riverboat. We had to be at the marina at 4:30, checkin is stated at 4:00 pm. We were told they would make note. We arrived at the hotel at 1:30 pm again asking about early checkin. They said the room wasn’t ready and they would call us. We asked at the desk again at 3:00 pm. Said it still wasn’t ready. We went to the upstairs bar to wait. We waited till 3:45 and decided to go and get our luggage and wait in the lobby. On the way to the car we noticed others checking in and going to their rooms. They called us at 3:50 and left a message. It seemed to us no effort was made to accommodate our request. Even a half hour early would have been helpful so we could get ready to attend the wedding, but no consideration was given. We only had time to change clothes and rush out door. For $400 a night we felt this was very poor customer service. Also, The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, tried to sleep on couch, not much better. No fridge or microwave in room either. No comment card. We were in room 212. View of River nice but for the money not worth it.

It was a neat place to say. I will say the room I was in was the older part of the hotel, definitely could use updates. The wallpaper was coming off the walls. The shades for the room didn't really black out the light very well. I will also say, my room was very loud with outside noise VERY early in the morning and continued all morning. I liked the "historic" aspect of the building for sure, the walking distance to downtown shops. The restaurant food was very good upstairs.

Great location and nice staff. Other than that there isn't much nice to say. Thr hotel is very outdated. It's a mix of cheap antiques and 1990's Home Depot purchases. Weird smell in the rooms too. To make it worse check in at 4 pm and they had a SEVEN DAY cancelation period. Crazy!
