Incredible! 10/10 restaurant dining experience. The food was amazing is understatement - it’s to die for! Fresh, creative and we loved that the in-house chef incorporated local island produce. All of the staff were so wonderful and their attention to detail was second to none. We stayed in the brand new Penthouse suit which is in every way - PERFECT. Very honeymoon material for sure! The ocean breeze flows though the elevated safari tent style cabin with ease keeping it lovely and cool. The bed is extremely comfortable with quality high end linen. The penthouse has a beautiful modern en-suite and the supplied bathroom products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, moisturiser) are lovely. Water pressure in the shower was excellent and it’s flushing toilet is a modern luxury as some of the beachfront cabins have an eco toilet. The restaurant also has a flushing toilet. Yoga mats, beach towels, soft white bathrobes are all perfect complementary additions when staying in the Penthouse. Sitting on our own private balcony sipping champagne while watching the sun set over the Arafura sea creating the most gorgeous territory sunset coloured sky was definitely a highlight for me. Fish are always plentiful in East Arnhem Land and half a day on the water didn’t disappoint with an esky full before lunch! Snorkeling equipment is available and only meters from the shore line you will see coral, sea enemies, clown fish, clams and a colourful array of reef fish. We brought our own boat over this time and the bay offers good anchorage. If you don’t have a boat, no problem Helen and Trevor offer boat transfer services back and forth from the mainland. Bremer Island Banu Banu Beach retreat is a must do! And if your still looking for the perfect honeymoon place - this is it! 10 out of 10!

A spectacularly beautiful glamp. You won’t find a place like this anywhere else in the world. Owned and operated by Helen and Trevor who go out of their way to give you a fabulous experience. Scenic 20 minute boat ride from the mainland or swing by the local airstrip, 10 minutes out of Gove. The delicious food is prepared by the on-site chef, served in the restaurant or on the beach, whatever you desire. Do it, go now before others discover it. Ann & John

BanuBanu resort is paradise. It was a fabulous escape for my husband and I and one of the highlights of our trip to East Arnhem Land. The island is beautiful surrounded by clear, azure ocean, has pristine, empty beaches and stylish, comfortable safari style tents on the beach looking out towards the sea. With a max of 12 guests, the friendly staff get to know your name and provide relaxed and personal service. The food is great. We ate local seafood - barramundi, prawns and reef fish. Trevor and Helen, the hosts, live on the island and were keen to share their local knowledge with us and make us feel at home. We really enjoyed their hospitality. This place is a must to visit.

The resort is a surprise, Helen and Trevor have been here for quite a while and have built a very welcoming resort. The original building is still the restaurant,(about to be replaced) and is what you can imagine on a castaway island. There is only 6 luxury tents and the new chef Andrew prepares all the meals. Dinner is a choice of 2 and I had 2 nights of his famous duck. Helen is involved in numerous projects with the NT tourism and is a wealth of knowledge on Indigenous affairs. Trevor is a true territorian! Having visited a number of remote resorts this was our favourite. We did not try fishing, there are some great walks, a very small local community

We spent 6 nights at Banubanu and would have stayed much longer if time had permitted and perhaps next time will do just that. What more can one ask for than to fall asleep in a large and comfortable eco tent to the sound of pounding waves and then to be woken by gorgeous sunrises. When travelling in remote Australia it is easy to find seclusion and inspiring views, but at Banubanu you are also treated to great food, hospitality and an immersion in country.
