As other reviewers have noted, and I concur with, lack of maintenance is the main problem with this motel. For me it was somewhat adequate for what I needed and what was charged on a Saturday night. On the plus side, the location was convenient for me to attend a show at Mystic Lake Casino. The air conditioner worked fine. Wifi was excellent. The room was mostly clean, bed comfortable, and bathroom in good shape (with one notable exception described later). The refrigerator and microwave worked fine.

But there were a lot of little things that weren't quite right that made me downgrade my overall rating. The outside screen was bent and would have allowed insects in had the window been opened. The electrical socket behind the bedstand did not work, thus the clock and lights above the headboard would not work when plugged in. I found used plates, utensils and a complementary penny behind the bedstand. The in room safe was locked and could not be opened. The cold water knob on the sink did not work. The "temporarily out of order" sign on the ice machine looked like it had been there awhile. Broken glass in the parking lot could have easily been swept up. Also, I woke up to loud music at 4:00 AM coming from a room down the hall that management seemed to not care about. I had to turn on the air conditioner to mostly drown out the noise.

Received many charges I was not told about and charges before they should have been charged. Still waiting to get money back for some of it have received some of the charges back. The staff was kind but they made many mistakes. As well the rooms are not soundproofed and if anyone is making noise in the lobby or the hall you can easily hear it.

The hotel is in an accessible area and the staff was friendly. However, upon going into our room we noticed the bedding had previous guests hair and stains on it, and there was even a used q-tip under the bed. The place was relatively quiet and wasn't bad for a short night stay, but for long term I wouldn't want to stay there if it wouldn't be cleaned well.

I didn't even get the opportunity to stay here and had a horrible experience. If I could give a negative I would for sure.

I received a phone call from an employee on September 8th at 10:19 a.m. (phonecall lasted 1m 1s) asking if I would still like my hotel room. I responded with yes then they told me well your card didn't't work. I said I apologize. I wasn't going to use that card so they asked if they could get the new card information. I said yes. Give me a second but I would like to ask you a question. They said okay. I then proceeded to ask. I was trying to use my points for this reservation but it wasn't letting me. Is there a reason for that? He then proceeded to get mad at me and said we are trying to run a business here and we are overbooked so I need to know if you want your stay. I said yes I do but I wanted to use my points. He refused to use my points then proceeded to yell and scream at me and I told him I was going to call headquarters and inform them what he was doing. He then says I don't care. I am canceling your room and gets mad at me even more than hangs up on me.

I spent 20 minutes on the phone with headquarters. They called the hotel to speak with someone. When headquarters got back on the phone with me they proceeded to tell me that I told the guy said I wanted to cancel my room which is a lie. So not only was the employee rude doesn't care how he runs in business but now is lying when he is the one who said he was going to cancel the room for me because I wanted to use my points.

What is the point of accumulating points by staying at these hotels if we are not allowed to use them? I will not be staying at this hotel in the future as I did have reservations for later on this month. I do not recommend this hotel even though I've never stayed there but because of one bad employee ruining it.

I travel a lot and stay at several hotels. This isn't the first time I've done this and this is only the second hotel by Wyndham where I have had a bad experience.

We had the absolute worst experience at this hotel. We checked In and the guy was extremely rude. Then we finally entered our room and it smelled awful, the floors were sticky, including the carpet. We had no towels and when we asked for towels we got 2 towels and a washcloth. For the two nights we had booked. There was no filter in the A/C. The paint was literally running off the wall by the a/c (it didn’t want to be there either.) There was a red chair in our room that had holes from cigarettes and then a white “substance” stained all over it. There was a chunk of toilet paper stuck in the peep hole to the door. The dead bolt didn’t work on the door. The bathroom door didn’t shut all the way. The comforter on the bed was stained and the blanket was as well. There were cigarette burns on the sheets. The cable didn't even work. We attempted to use our keys to one of the doors and couldn't get in. We went to the main door, they said they reset the keys overnight but neglected to tell us this beforehand.
PLUS! When we checked in, the guy said they didn't pass the health inspector so there would be no breakfast. "It would be illegal for us to serve food."

Please do NOT stay here. It doesn’t even deserve one star.

Room was clean and staff was very accommodating with booking error made when registering online! The check in process was straight forward and it was just down the road from a lot of the favorite amenities in the shakopee area. If needing a room for cheap check here!

We booked what we thought was a room with two queen sized beds and a pull out sofa. We booked over the phone with the hotel and explained that there would be 6 of us and that we absolutely needed the additional bed and they said it would be no problem. When we got there we were given a cramped, tiny little room with two full sized beds only! They offered us a bunch of pillows and blankets. Two of the kids had to sleep on a pile of pillows on the floor! The following morning we were asked if we would leave a review and that they would be refunding us $20. They also told us the following morning that they can’t have 6 people in a room and that they don’t have any rooms that are set up like that then admitted that they have one “suite” with a pull out and it was already booked after we showed them the picture of it on here! My husband had actually spoken with the hotel on the phone when booking to insure they could accommodate all 6 of us!!!! Total B.S.! We will never stay here again. There were also no cups in the room and only two towels… It was clean but that’s all it had going for it. Also the whole place smelled like pot.

I have stayed at this property a couple of times without issue.

I had booked 3 rooms for September 10 for our family trip to the MN Renaissance Festival. My booking was done online in July.

Around 9:30 on the morning of the 10th of September, I received a call from the hotel stating that they could not accommodate us. I was told that they had been booked full since June and they had a "construction project" going on.

I asked the gentleman if he was going to help me find other accommodations, since we were already in town and at the Renaissance Festival. He said it was not his job. After a rather unpleasant conversation (which can be mostly blamed on me) the gentleman hung up on me.

I realize that mistakes happen. However, do not wait until the morning of a customer's stay to call with an issue like this.

My experience was horrible and a HUGE waste of money. The staff was extremely rude, the beds do not have warm blankets and when we asked for another blanket the manager was very rude about it, the non smoking room smelled like cigarettes, the drain plug was removed so you can’t take a bath, the fridge stunk and it was so loud it kept us up, the free breakfast was skimpy and not even worth eating, the coffee was terrible with only powdered cream.
This hotel does not have a elevator.
I canceled my second night because it was so bad and didn’t receive a refund.
I don’t stay in hotels very often so when I do I get excited about a relaxing getaway. This experience was the complete opposite.
Spend the extra money on another hotel in shakopee. There are many options.
