But there were a lot of little things that weren't quite right that made me downgrade my overall rating. The outside screen was bent and would have allowed insects in had the window been opened. The electrical socket behind the bedstand did not work, thus the clock and lights above the headboard would not work when plugged in. I found used plates, utensils and a complementary penny behind the bedstand. The in room safe was locked and could not be opened. The cold water knob on the sink did not work. The "temporarily out of order" sign on the ice machine looked like it had been there awhile. Broken glass in the parking lot could have easily been swept up. Also, I woke up to loud music at 4:00 AM coming from a room down the hall that management seemed to not care about. I had to turn on the air conditioner to mostly drown out the noise.
I received a phone call from an employee on September 8th at 10:19 a.m. (phonecall lasted 1m 1s) asking if I would still like my hotel room. I responded with yes then they told me well your card didn't't work. I said I apologize. I wasn't going to use that card so they asked if they could get the new card information. I said yes. Give me a second but I would like to ask you a question. They said okay. I then proceeded to ask. I was trying to use my points for this reservation but it wasn't letting me. Is there a reason for that? He then proceeded to get mad at me and said we are trying to run a business here and we are overbooked so I need to know if you want your stay. I said yes I do but I wanted to use my points. He refused to use my points then proceeded to yell and scream at me and I told him I was going to call headquarters and inform them what he was doing. He then says I don't care. I am canceling your room and gets mad at me even more than hangs up on me.
I spent 20 minutes on the phone with headquarters. They called the hotel to speak with someone. When headquarters got back on the phone with me they proceeded to tell me that I told the guy said I wanted to cancel my room which is a lie. So not only was the employee rude doesn't care how he runs in business but now is lying when he is the one who said he was going to cancel the room for me because I wanted to use my points.
What is the point of accumulating points by staying at these hotels if we are not allowed to use them? I will not be staying at this hotel in the future as I did have reservations for later on this month. I do not recommend this hotel even though I've never stayed there but because of one bad employee ruining it.
I travel a lot and stay at several hotels. This isn't the first time I've done this and this is only the second hotel by Wyndham where I have had a bad experience.
PLUS! When we checked in, the guy said they didn't pass the health inspector so there would be no breakfast. "It would be illegal for us to serve food."
Please do NOT stay here. It doesn’t even deserve one star.
I had booked 3 rooms for September 10 for our family trip to the MN Renaissance Festival. My booking was done online in July.
Around 9:30 on the morning of the 10th of September, I received a call from the hotel stating that they could not accommodate us. I was told that they had been booked full since June and they had a "construction project" going on.
I asked the gentleman if he was going to help me find other accommodations, since we were already in town and at the Renaissance Festival. He said it was not his job. After a rather unpleasant conversation (which can be mostly blamed on me) the gentleman hung up on me.
I realize that mistakes happen. However, do not wait until the morning of a customer's stay to call with an issue like this.
This hotel does not have a elevator.
I canceled my second night because it was so bad and didn’t receive a refund.
I don’t stay in hotels very often so when I do I get excited about a relaxing getaway. This experience was the complete opposite.
Spend the extra money on another hotel in shakopee. There are many options.
"DONT COME HERE. FIND SOMEHWERE ELSE. The restaurant across the street tho is awesome tho."Read full review
