We loved our camp site (59A), just a few feet from the Lake Superior. It was unbelievable! And such beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, our dog wandered away while we were setting up our tent and fell in the lake. We successfully got her out safely. Just a reminder how quickly those things happen. Then it started raining, and raining, and raining.... More

Our first impression was very good but then be got settled in camp site #22. Mosquitoes were everywhere. On either side of the site. the feeding ground. Brush in low standing water. He heard a young man with a weed eater and he was polite enough to trim the sides. I recommend that you do not stay in site #22... More

My husband and I were taking a trip all the way up the northshore, and we stopped here to tent camp. We had site 4a, right beside a rocky portion of the Lake Superior shore. The moon over the lake last night was gorgeous! I felt so lucky to have scored such a perfect spot at 8:30 pm the Thurs... More

Have been coming here since I was a little girl. Love this campground! Wonderful family owned operation. The staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Beautiful lakeshore trails, heavily treed campground, nice beach and borders cross river with wonderful views of the falls.

Campground is on the lake shore, and some campsites are really on the shore. Sites are well separated, have privacy. Quiet, the most noise would be from the waves on a windy day. Went in October, so no bugs. Nice greenery. Though the name "resort" unnecessarily raises expectations. Restrooms are very good by campground standards, but folks who expect a... More

The campground was great. We stayed a little off the lake but our area was pretty private. The campground is very close to all the state parks in that area, which makes it very convenient. We even traveled up to Grand Marais for an evening as the drive wasn't bad at all. The only downside of the campground was that... More

For years my family and our close friends have stayed at this campground in the fall. We always reserve lake spots and the sights form your site can not be beat! Besides for being a beautiful secluded campground in itself, its close to many attractions and prime hiking including but not limited to the Temperence river trail and Lutsen mountains.... More

Family guests from Europe and my husband and I shared a “2 bedroom” cabin in July. The location right on Lake Superior, midway between Grand Portage and Duluth was great, the lakeviews wonderful, and the paths to Cross River were fun. The cabin is described as rustic, but maintenance was sorely lacking. We would have been happy to overlook one... More

I spent an entire day calling this place and was told by an automated voice that the number was unregistered. After being assured on Facebook that the phone was fine, I called literally a dozen times throughout the day and EVERY TIME the line was busy. No voice mail, no call waiting. By the time I finally got someone, the... More

nice website and main buildings entice you, but the "resort" is overall poorly maintained. The gal at the desk was sweet but not sharp -- she forgot she sent us to check a site and rented it right out from under us. We were down to no other options and had to take a less optimal site. We camped with... More
