Detailed Reviews
Absolutely lovely little five-room hotel in the heart of historic downtown St. Peter. Beautiful, updated, clean, and quiet suites led to a wonderful anniversary get-away from the cities. We stayed in the Governor Austin room which had everything we needed including a huge bathroom with separate spa-tub, separate shower, balcony, refrigerator, and king size bed. Large public sitting room on the second floor was a perfect spot to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the morning. The restaurant, downstairs, was phenomenal.

We celebrated our 10 yr Anniversary at this lovely hotel. It is a beautiful place with kind staff and is very charming and really affordable for the spacious rooms and great bathrooms. We stayed in the McGill Room. Decor was Great, Bed was very comfy, It had a Jetted Deep soaker and that was great after doing alot of driving and sight seeing. Also had a balcony which was pretty cool. I only have excellent things to say about this beautiful hotel. Only thing could find to mention is the parking is a little different you park in the back of the hotel and enter the hotel from the front of the building. However we felt very safe there and parking was free and everything was just fine. And lighting was a little dark for doing makeup and such in the morning in the bathroom but the darker lighting did prob add alot to the old world charm of the room so there is that. We loved the place, we look forward to hopefully getting bk there again if headed that direction. Also recommend the meat and cheese tray it was very good. :) Nice hotel in a neat little town. Don't pass it up if heading that direction.

We really enjoyed the Konsbruck hotel. Located in the heart of St Peter the hotel is perfectly located including being just above the 3rd Street Tavern which was the perfect spot for some cocktails and dinner after a long day. The rooms were very nicely appointed the service was friendly. This is a little spot with only 6 rooms. Book it!

My husband and I spent our first night as husband and wife in this hotel. We loved it! However, this was when it was under other management. We were planning our anniversary and couldn't decide what to do. We made arrangements for a night in the cities then cancelled those plans because the same room we stayed in our wedding night was available.
After talking to the owners we decided to stay even though they have cats (which I am allergic to). They told us they were confined to a room on the other side of the hotel. The day before our planned stay they called us and cancelled!!! I am disappointed, as we not only are unable to stay in our special room, but are also with out a plan for our anniversary which we have taken work off to celebrate. I am also disappointed in the lack of professionalism, both in action and the discussions I had with the owner. I am now wondering if they were lying about the cats being in just one room or if its something else. I would fight to stay there but I am unsure they are to be trusted.
The hotel is a great place and has great accommodations but its management is unprofessional to say the least.

Response from Mary S, Owner at Konsbruck Hotel
Responded Nov 9, 2013
We are so sorry that you felt that we didn't handle your situation properly. It is stated three different times on our website that there are cats on the premises. After multiple discussions with you and your husband indicating your extreme level of cat allergies, we felt it would be very "unprofessional" of us to put your health at risk. We absolutely would prefer an empty room and no income to endangering the health of one of our guests. If you feel a need to discuss this further, you can reach Tom directly at 612-759-8393.

My wife and I were looking for a quiet, romantic birthday weekend getaway in small town Minnesota. We were seeking privacy as well as style. A sterile upscale chain hotel was not what we wanted. Instead we were looking for the ambience of a B&B without the social expectations. We found exactly what we were looking for in the Konsbruck, a modern boutique hotel that takes full advantage of its location in an older brick building.
We saw only our own room, but gather it is representative of the others. Our room was quite large with three distinct rooms. One was a generously sized bathroom with toilet and sink. The second was the bedroom, quite large itself with plenty of walking room around its solitary double bed. The third room contained a very large tub with air jets, an enclosed shower and a second sink. I should also mention that both the bedroom and the tub room had electric "fireplaces" and good sized HD televisions. The bed was comfy and the decor very tasteful and well thought out. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The owner (Mary) showed us up to the room and took us on a tour if its amenities.
All the rooms are on the second floor, but there is no elevator. Staff will help with bags, etc., but the staircase is long and could be a problem for people with mobility issues.
The first floor is a wonderful public restaurant specializing in Texas barbecue but with a wide ranging menu. The restaurant is also where the complementary breakfast is served starting at 9:00am. Each party has the option for a private table, so there is no obligation for a communal breakfast. There are some large tables, so the opportunity exists for a communal meal if that is appealing to you.
We were looking for a place we could just relax for a while, mixed in with some pleasant, easy walking about town. The Konsbruck provided both. The staff seemed happy in their work, and the owner paid just the right amount of attention to us, available but not overbearing. We will stay here again if we have reason to spent a night or two in St. Peter. We're hoping we will.

We have stayed here before - and it offers large, beautiful rooms! Unfortunately, this stay was not up to par. Our room had only one bath towel, and we could not locate anyone early in the morning for another. We did not receive the breakfast vouchers for Sunday morning, nor did we receive any continental breakfast on Monday morning. The difficulty is that there is not a caretaker on site and when I texted the manager a question about where to leave the key when checking out early Monday morning, I received no reply. Again, these are minor concerns, and overall our stay was wonderful - but having someone available when help is requested would be a huge plus.

This older building is updated antique chic. We have stayed in the Orion Room twice. Lovely bath and shower facilities. Fireplace at end of bed. Good view of street. Takes you back in time to when hotels were simply a room with a restaurant below. Breakfast isn't served until 9am, but they graciously provided us with a $10 gift card to the co-op across the street because we had to be on our way early.

My room, Gemini, was quite nicely furnished and huge. The room itself is quite large and the bathroom was huge. It had a half bath with toilet in the front of the room. And through the back there was the separate bathing room with a huge slipper jetted tub, shower with rainshower, as well as separate sink. My only complaint is there was no full length mirror. I would definitely stay there again.

My adult daughter and I stayed this past weekend at this lovely Boutique/B&B Hotel in the heart of St. Peter, MN. Beautifully renovated hotel with lovely rooms and gracious hosts. The rooms are larger than most hotel rooms and have a separate water closet with its own sink. The bathroom has a large rain/power shower combination with a sink, electric fireplace, TV and large soaking/message jet tub. Thick white cotton towels and robes are provided. Comfortable bed in this deluxe accommodation with another electric fireplace and TV in the bed area. A sitting area near the windows is a lovely place to relax and read or just enjoy a glass of wine. The rooms feel spacious and relaxing. The common room upstairs is central to all rooms and faces the front of the property. Wonderful light in the morning. There are three rooms off the back with access to a common balcony. These rooms cost a bit more. The only drawback we found with these was the fact that the decorative door to the balcony has a see through area that could be an issue if someone else on the balcony decided to walk on down and peek through as one can see into the tub area from outside through this clear glass space. There is one room on the front of the building as well that is a bit lower cost as there is no balcony. The website has photos that are quite accurate to what you receive when you arrive. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The owners/hosts were a delight and offer suggestions of things to see and do in the area. Overall a very pleasant and positive experience. Downstairs we enjoyed breakfast each morning at the Lone Star BBQ owned by our hosts. Very good food and you will not go hungry with the portions provided. Well stocked bar as well as a varied menu is provided for lunch and dinner as well. Would recommend to all and hope to be back ourselves as well.
