Everything was good. There were a lot of guests there for the two hockey games at the Xcel Energy Center that day. My only complaint was the sidewalks leading to the hotels entrance were slippery because of snow and ice.

Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I spent five nights at the St. Paul Hotel and enjoyed the excellent service and stunningly fine atmosphere of the hotel. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. While there were some loud events at lobby level, we never heard a peep from there or from neighboring rooms, so could enjoy a quiet stay. There were a couple of minor issues in the suite itself that were remedied or reported to engineering, and that was fine. In a luxurious hotel, it was a bit shocking to see nickle-and-diming charges in the suite's minibar. Six bucks for a bottle of water is absurd and detracts from the overall feeling of luxury and being appreciated as a guest. Eight bucks for a small packet of so-so cookies is a similar insult. We were unable to sample the St. Paul Grill because of our own schedule, but we understand it is excellent. We will happily stay at the hotel should we return to St. Paul -- but we still won't buy anything from the scandalously overpriced minibar.

BandonGuy, thank you for staying with us and for submitting a review. We appreciate all the kind compliments. I completely understand that the mini bar is expensive for the convenience.

The service from arrival to departure is simply unparalleled. The rooms are nice but nothing special. The fitness center was also very nice. The lobby and the rest of the property are well maintained, elegant and super clean. For most things downtown Saint Paul the location can’t be beat. They will also provide rides locally which was super appreciated by my family.

We stayed at the Saint Paul for the location but will return for the exceptional service and staff. You can tell the management knows how to treat their employees. Highly recommend the Grill and Drake for dining and if you're in the area for hockey, you can walk to the Xcel Energy Center without stepping outside...wonderful in bad weather. Whatever you're there for, take a few moments to explore...this hotel is beautiful.

The room was immaculate. Bed very comfortable. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. It was a perfect overnight getaway. Short walk to the Excel Energy center for a Wild game. The bar staff was knowledgeable and entertaining.

The St Paul Hotel is top notch in every way. If you are in the area for a sporting event at the Xcel Center or a theater event at the Ordway you must stay at The St Paul. The staff is attentive in every aspect. An added bonus is the amazing St Paul Grill on property. The food and service are simply excellent.

Everyone was great at the St. Paul Hotel, from Jon at the valet parking and welcoming as I arrived to James helping with my luggage up to the room and using his recommendation to use the shuttle to go to breakfast Saturday morning. We decided to use the shuttle because of the snow and didn't want to slip on the ice. We were there for the annual high school hockey tournament. We have been staying downtown at the St. Paul Hotel for over 20 years. We were happy to find the M Cafe {or whatever the name is} was open for breakfast again. We went to breakfast Friday morning before the games. It really helps with the overall hassle of eating and getting to the games. Thanks for being there. Reynold Mack.

We went for a concert at excel, valet parking was immediate, bellman helped with bags immediately, checking in was quick, bellman showed how the room works, lights, mini bar, etc, got us ice. Walked across street then to river center entrance to excel. Room service coffee was great in the morning. Gym was small but had what we needed
