We actually visited in 1993, so maybe there have been changes. We stayed out of necessity (it was the only hotel with a vacancy for 100 miles) but were very glad we found it. The room was ancient (the bathtub had feet, and our electricity was supplied by extension cord), but the hospitality was fabulous. They sold locally-jarred fruit preserves...

This hotel has so much character and we fell in love with it the minute we stepped inside. The staff left lots to be desired however. We felt as though we were intruding. No maid will enter your room unless you request services. The problem was no one informed us of that, and they seemed surprised that we asked for...

This is listed as a B&B but is'nt?? It is a hotel. Food was ok. Had Swedish meatballs with homemade mashed potatoes. The skins were left on the potatoes and they didn't have much flavor. The meatballs were real good but the gravy tasted like bottled gravy. Edible not great.

Most local people stop at the stop sign, go on their way,but never think of this as a great small hotel because it's right in their back yard. We ate at this restaurant for lunch. The hot turkey and gravy tasted homemade and was delicious. The decor includes many pretty antiques and the table setting we used consisted of old fashioned China pieces. Very nice atmosphere.
