We actually visited in 1993, so maybe there have been changes. We stayed out of necessity (it was the only hotel with a vacancy for 100 miles) but were very glad we found it. The room was ancient (the bathtub had feet, and our electricity was supplied by extension cord), but the hospitality was fabulous. They sold locally-jarred fruit preserves...

This hotel has so much character and we fell in love with it the minute we stepped inside. The staff left lots to be desired however. We felt as though we were intruding. No maid will enter your room unless you request services. The problem was no one informed us of that, and they seemed surprised that we asked for...

This is listed as a B&B but is'nt?? It is a hotel. Food was ok. Had Swedish meatballs with homemade mashed potatoes. The skins were left on the potatoes and they didn't have much flavor. The meatballs were real good but the gravy tasted like bottled gravy. Edible not great.

We stayed overnight at The Grant House on our way north to the BWCA. It is about halfway. We did our best to be there before 8:00pm when the restaurant closed. They were very friendly over the phone and when we discussed the possibilty of a late arrival she explained she could leave the key hidden for me along with...

Most local people stop at the stop sign, go on their way,but never think of this as a great small hotel because it's right in their back yard. The wonderful, authentic restoration of this 1896 hotel makes you think that you've traveled here by the stagecoach that used this as a stop on it's route from St.Paul to Superior, Wisconsin!...

We ate at this restaurant for lunch. The hot turkey and gravy tasted homemade and was delicious. The decor includes many pretty antiques and the table setting we used consisted of old fashioned China pieces. Very nice atmosphere.

Our first time at the Grant House Hotel. What a beautiful place! The decor was done by loving professionals. So cozy. More like a bed and breakfast, except it offers more. Great food and attentive staff. The room and food prices were amazing. Can't wait to go back! Well worth our drive from Hudson WI. Thank you, owner Barb and...

We spent New Years Eve at the Grant House and it was wonderful. The rooms are very comfortable and my wife says "cute" all of the little things were there. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was great and the prices were very reasonable. The woman who owns the hotel was very friendly and attentive to our...

We celebrated New Year's Eve at the Grant House Hotel and we couldn't have asked for a better night! The staff were all super friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The rooms were cozy, comfortable, and well maintained. The food was AMAZING and very reasonably priced! The steak and lobster dinner was delicious,...

While Rush City may not be a destination spot with exciting diversions, it was just want we wanted for our honeymoon. Grant House was lovely and quiet and gave us an entirely different feel than anything we would have gotten in a modern hotel or resort. In addition, the it was wonderfully affordable. We stayed in Room 10 on the...
