I needed an inexpensive place to stay to be with a family member who was in the hospital. I stayed in an economy room. It was not fancy but met my needs, clean bedding, very small bathroom and was pretty dated but I didn't expect a palace! It was all that I needed with friendly staff, and close to Methodist... More

Okay let me begin by saying that this hotel is really hyped up for no reason. This was the crappiest hotel room I had ever stayed in. It was the size of a box and the bathroomwas old and looked like it was from three's company and not the nice clean version. It was like being in a flea motel.... More

A beautiful older hotel that has been cared for and updated. Rooms are large and tastefully furnished. Restaurants consist of the usual hotel type plus an excellent steakhouse. Service by hotel staff is prompt and cheerful. Meeting and convention facilities are extensive. Across the street from the Mayo Clinic with free shuttle service to St. Mary's Hospital. Centrally located in... More

Mirroring other comments, this place is run down, not clean and definitely not worth the money. It IS right across the street from the Gonda building at Mayo, but other than location, it isn't worth it. I will never stay there again. The room was a dump. Water damaged ceiling and missing ceiling tiles. Bed wasn't comfortable and the bed... More

The star rating for this hotel at its best should be a two star. Upon arriving, The hotel lobby was nice but quite deceiving compared to the condition of the rest of the hotel. The words that come to mind are dilapidated and disgusting--stains on the walls and carpets, peeling wallpaper, incredibly dated bathrooms and decor, dirty furniture; I could... More

It was an ok stay. The subway system is fantastic and we love the Grill. No one explained the parking ramp. It was confusing and when I left the kiosk would not accept my credit card. I had to speak into the microphone and try and tell them what was happening.

The mixed reviews could be spot on. To get to our room we went through a series of doorways and short hallways. The King room we walked into was very small. We are both somewhat colostrophic so we immediately went back down to the front counter and checked back out. Currently waiting to see if we get refunded the one... More

I stay at the Kahler Grand every time I come to Mayo. I agree with the negative reviews in only one way: It is an old hotel & not a palace. Nevertheless, it provides exactly what I need when I am coming for medical care: a decent, clean room, good service & easy convenient access to the Mayo Clinic when... More

We stay with the Kahler every time we go to Rochester for visits to the clinic. It is convenient to Mayo, Gonda, Charlton and Eisenberg buildings as well as, lots of dining. The hotel has a better value that many of the hotels. You can get a nicer room, but not for the price and convenience. The staff is always... More
