I stayed 3 days. This is an old hotel. From the first day there was no heat. My room number was 740. I called front desk. They sent me a mechanic/plumber and tried heater to work for 4 hours and it still did not work. Mechanic brought a small electric heater and insisted and lied it will take long time...

Great location, ambience, and staff. Would not stay anywhere else in Rochester. Shuttle service to the hospital was convenient, friendly and FREE. This feels like an upscale hotel, without the upscale price. Lots of shops and restaurants in this

Staff were fantastic! Hotel needs critical care. Threadbare bedding and towels, stained carpet, fridges holding previous guests rotten food....owners do their guests a disservice. I would not stay here again or recommend to anyone. Access to the Mayo Clinic is easy from ANY hotel. Had I done more research on distances my choice would been different.

The ONLY thing this hotel has going for it is its outstanding staff. The hotel rooms are shabby, dated and overheated. We went there in February, it was our anniversary that week and we were going back to Mayo for my fifth trip in eight months. I wanted it to be nice, comfy and luxurious. I decided on Kahler Grand...

The Kahler (pronounced "Kay-lur") Grand is very convenient for visitors to the Mayo Clinic and surrounding area. It's an older property and the economy rooms will reflect this - with a small bathroom with no vanity counter space, two tub faucets rather than a lever, a shower head height that will be a challenge for tall people, and an antiquated...

I was here for a 5 day educational course at the Mayo Clinic. All I wanted was a clean, comfortable hotel at a reasonable price and I found it! The hotel section I was in was old but everything worked well. Most important was that if looked and felt clean. I certainly enjoyed my stay in Rochester and in terms...

Very unfriendly, unhelpful staff at check-in and check-out. A fairly clean hotel but very worn out. Difficult to find room, no help or carts for luggage. Car broken into in the attached ramp and many things ruined and /or stolen. No help or sympathy regarding theft. We really felt like our items were in the employee lounge as part of...

I am a seasoned traveler. Go to Mayo on a regular basis. The Holiday Inn was booked. Kahler was available. Old. Tacky. Dirty. And more expensive. Talked with another guest who paid $49 less per nite.
